  • This guy is a pro with them he where are you located maybe I can buy some from you. I wanna do what you do. I have a female and want to start a family. And from them and put them in my lake so the population grows.can I get your email?

  • @Luisxx96 sorry, I don't sell turtles.

  • I have one

  • Omg so cute. I wish I could find 3 stripes around my area. They are hard to come across. (when looking for a breeder)

  • @MsMollyLolliPop well, ALL turtle hatchlings are cute, no matter the species. Muds are among the smallest turtles so that does add something to the cuteness factor. Musk hatchlings are just as small and just as cute (with their pointy little nose) by the way, and probably more available.

  • Yea he is

  • this guy is awesom

  • on a small turtle? I don't think so.

  • Do you ever track them after release? That would be so cool

  • @mosaicglass I wish I could but that is all but impossible. Turtles wander away, it would be hard to even recognize one if it did appear. Most of the time I release them in a large lake or the river, will never see them again.

  • @BauriBob

lol Yeah I am sure that is true. I mean attach a little tracking devise to them. Or is that pretty expensive?

  • can you give me any tips on raising a mud turtle?

  • @zach0843 for specific care info, check with the ATP caresheets on the web. Mud turtles can live 30 years or longer. They are bottom walkers, like soft mud or sand substrate. Are mostly carnivorous. Prefer shaded areas with lots of cover, places to hide. Water depth for adults between 8" and 12". Decent but not excellent swimmers, should have easy ways to the surface without swimming. Largest tank you can manage as they like to roam the bottom in search of food.

  • Where do u live? It seems many turtles are common to live there.

  • do you get paid for doing this or is it just your hobby? cause all that stuff must cost ALOT

  • @MicroMouse007 I'm retired, taking care of turtles and clearing litter from creeks, lakes, etc. is what I do now full time.

  • @BauriBob awww ur so awesome i wish i had a turtle habitat that i cud do full tim e:( but im 16 and in high school and theres no time D: but i eventually will! im subbing :D

  • Thos turtles are awsome

  • Awesome! I have a striped mud that I found on the road over a year ago and now he's in a 55 gallon tank on our porch. I was just wondering, what do you feed them primarily? Mine gets Reptomin and some occasional crickets, but I'm sure you've got a better diet for them. Thanks!

  • yes, I release them all. Some are rescues.

I only keep one clutch of eggs (from my own adult turtles) a year and release them after they've grown a bit.

  • nice theyve seen to grown a bit too, so u realease all ur hatchlings?

  • happy they were so well tooken care of before they went back to the wild...look forward to seeing the release video...l
