2pacs rapping career REALLY started in the Bay Area, Oakland to be exact. but he moved to L.A. because Death Row records was down there (Suge Knight, Dr. Dre, Snoop, all them). L.A. was sort of a paradise for Pac because he had finally escaped the ghetto and was now living in Beverly Hills. Yeah for all you people who think Pac lived in south-central n shit are waay wrong! just google his driver's license if you are in doubt. a lot of Pac's earlier songs you can hear him clearly reppin BAY AREA!

He didn't really hit the West Coast rap scene until after prison and the shooting. Know ya shit youngin.
