I just finished my guitar after about having it for a year now, I took out the standard fixed bridge and replaced it with the real gotoh fixed bridge same as jon donais, then I took out the standard nut and put a graphite one in, I m hoping that with my setup all together will equal close enough to the quality of jon donais sig, but this guitar rocks for sure and when put through a heavy gain amp it can wail
I own this same guitar and its worth every penny. I replaced the emg 81 bridge to a seymour duncun abh 2 metal for extra distortion, and it is heavy now. what amp do you use?
Hi Mate, the JD600 has an EMG 85 in the bridge. Did you swap the 81 and the 85 around before you put the SD in? In this video I'm recording direct to my PC via a POD X3 Live. PODs are great for practicing when you don't want to annoy the neighbours!! I have a 'live' rig - Peavey 6505+ and a Mesa Boogie Recto 2x12 cab. Boss NS-2 and Maxon OD-808.... sounds awesome!!
Yep I swapped them after a week I got it then put the SD in 2 weeks later. I wanted to try the peavey 6505+ head but I more lean towards wanting to try the 5150 head. I have a Engl Powerbal with cab but may change it up for a Engl Savage.
It's light and well balanced. Much lighter than my floyd equipped ESP M-II. Mahogany bodied axes are lighter than alder... wood is less dense. Hope you liked the vid.
Strat shaped so body is much the same. The neck is pretty chunky though, a little fatter than the Eclipse. Well happy with mine though (even if neck is a good bit bigger than the ultra thin U on my ESP M-II)
I bought the guitar a year ago and it set me back £650. I think prices are over £800 now if you're buying in the UK. I'm 100% happy with it, absolutely no issues to report.
Cheers Sketch95 - there's nothing like some constructive criticism.
