@jiver222 Wilton Felder also played bass most of the time. Doubled on the sax parts too. Unclear as to what tracks Chuck Rainey played bass on. Arthur Adams played rhythm guitar (it doesn't sound like David T. Walker) and Larry Carlton played lead.
This is where "The Saturday Night Live Band", and other jive-time cover and club bands got their inspiration, besides the great, but late JR. WALKER AND THE ALL-STARS!
Love this song and glad someone finally posted it. Anyone remember the Cosby Show with the muppets where Cliff ate a sandwich and was having a bad dream??? I do believe Vanessa was in his dream playing this song, but of course I haven't seen that episode in years
any bass sheets or tabs for this??

How come a 4 man band? I can hear drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, sax and trumpet or trombone, so who were the two extra players?
jiver222 1 year ago
yes they were a 4-piece band- but Larry Carlton also helped out on guitar on this track. Timeless classic music!
