@Bravo21 I loaded this series up as a play list so you can see the full version if you want. I have said for a long time that the ministry would be a great job if it wasn't for all these people. The bush and a dose of solitude does me good from time to time.
@Colhane I agree completely. I spent 6 weeks solo last summer in the Boundary Waters and Ontario canoeing. Something I try to do every year...this year however with funds low I don't think I can, but I maintain hope and the sure knowledge of shorter trips Lol. The Machete is always a good choice. My pick for the northern lake country is a carbonV Cold Steel 'Master Hunter' I have had for about 15yrs, and a Small Forest Axe. I wish you well in your travels, and I look forward to more videos.
Awesome. I concur on all points about "people." Definitely heard the flies. Were any of those Bot Flies? What R some of the other flora and fauna you had to contend with in that region of Brazil?
@1BattleRattle This whole series and another similar one are posted on my channel as play lists. I still live here and am heading out with my son tomorrow to "contend" a little in the jungle. ANTS! Africanized honey bees, scorpions. No real large predators here to worry about, except people...
One of the most sensible and effective gentlemen on youtube. All the vids so far are for grownups and you can learn a lot from his personal approach to life's situations as well.
@TheWaggaBloke I don't know what they were but they were non-biting and did not attempt to make me a host for any larvae. That makes then OK in my book.
I can relate. I wanted independence in my teens. Joined the Navy, lived with a woman, saw the world -- from an aircraft carrier. Got married, then divorced. I've been single since. I don't need to ask permission, just go. Which restaurant? Just pick one. What movie or TV channel? My choice. Privacy and solitude. Just give me a running stream, a sea shore and woods, I'll be married to that spot.
I felt your pain in having to leave this place as you shared in the video... That's the nice thing about the bush.. It's the bush.. no matter if you're in Brazil, PA, or the plains of Africa!
Be blessed Bro wherever you go.. the journey continues..
This past week has been a real blessing to me, outside of work I've hardly had to deal with people as the rest of my family has been away visiting the extendeds in Indy.
I certainly do enjoy your Brasil videos. Hope to see more of them in the future!:)
Thank you for showing the beauties of my country and for respecting it too! I really enjoyed your vd and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of it! Take care and come back soon!
I am normally a "people person", if I wasn't I wouldn't have been in that situation. It was really good to step away from it all for a few days and recharge.
"To many people...Three days without people is really good"...lol That cracked me up. I feel that way all the time. I like folks but sometimes you just got to get away. Looks like you had a real good place to get away. I'd like to see some more of you 3 day sabbatical. Enjoy your videos.
hey I have watched a few of your vids and I have notice the "skirting" on your canteen cup. what is it made of and how did you make and attach it. I have had problems balancing my cup on fires and the coals just dont get it hot enough sometimes. I'd really appreciate the info. peace.
That's piece of kit is not home made it is a US Army stove sleeve. When reversed it fits around the cup in the canteen holder. My cup is stainless steel not aluminum and was made in the same year I was ('65). The stove sleeve is a great addition.
I understand, but the answer lies n the proles! freedom is the freedom to say 2+2 = 4 all day long! A break from the masses does let a person collect his/her thoughts quite well!
Ahhh the great outdoors, indeed a breathe of fresh air does do the body good!
That sure did look like a great spot, aahh I miss the great outdoors indeed!
Maybe its time for a road trip to a soothing spot of peace time to oneself!
Thx for posting and goodluck with the people at home!
I sympathize with you. I have suffered from people burnout many times. Especially during my active duty years. I started smoking and at one point watched a movie called "Falling Down" I felt better after that.
I found you on youtube today. Nice videos. You brought me good memories. I was born in M.G., about 5 hours drive from BH. As a child I use to make arapucas to catch rolinhas, just to let them go and try to catchem again. I also used to go fishing with my uncle and break in a termite mound to collect them and use as fish bait. Good times
Voce encontrou muitas jararacas? They were my worst fears when sleeping outdoors. Have a good time back in PA,I might see you there.Stay warm.
Yeah you should make this 1 hour trip into a multi-part, multi-video, adventure, Just upload in seperate sections. Part 01 arrival at the site, Part 02 picking out camp spot, Etc.. That would work out pretty good and it would give you time to make the sections as your able to work on them, That keeps people in anticipation to view Part 03, Part 04, Etc.. =]
Solo trips in the nature are a great way to clear your head and consolidate your thoughts.I have enjoyed your videos immensely and wish you all the best back in the States.
LOL 3:11 to 4:15 made me think about the movie "Cast Away" :) And take the time to rest in the United States now. I really like your videos, keep them coming!
Its always the people :) Enjoying your Vids Colhane would like to see more of your machete work though and look forward to seeing the rest of your last trip
Human beings are always welcome...People however, Suck.

"Castaway?" More like "Outcast", I had been exiled to the bush because my wife had somehow detected that I had become unbearable to live with.
Several times in the Gospels Jesus led his disciples off into the wilderness. They were trying to get out of cell phone range.
