  • It's a treasure to come back and see this after all these years. There have been a few great players at Providence over the years but no one had Ernie's flare for the game. He brimmed with confidence and feared no one on the court. He was simply dynamite.

  • I just met him at my basketball camp

  • Growing up in Brooklyn NY in the early/mid 70's...I had 2 posters over my bed. One was of John (Hondo) Havlicek, the other was Ernie D. Brings back great memories.

  • still remember when he stomped the russians after the munich 72 rip off

one of my happpiest sports moments

  • Bobby Orr and Ernie D. My two heroes growing up.

    Well, maybe Joey Hassett, too.

  • I played pickup hoops against Ernie at a Providence health club back in 1990. It didn't dawn on me who he was until he started raining jumpers on my head.

  • Ernie is my uncle.

  • Cool video of the Braves and RIP Randy Smtih

  • I have actually met Ernie D. :D I am proud

  • lol My dad says he was at a game when Ernie D was on the Celtics and he went off...scoring 25 or something

  • Ernie 'No' D he was also known as.

  • hahahaha!

  • Thumper Newman was very similar to Ernie-D
