Bless his heart. I live in Scotland and would love to help him, I buy tents and essentials and give them to people who do not have a home does anyone know how I may be able to get in touch with this man, maybe I can get one of the 'Dont vent support a tent' reps over there to go and see him and hopefully help him.
The early videos in this series used to be longer; please consider filming each person for maybe 8 or 10 minutes a piece! I don't know how many of them would want to say that much, but it would be interesting to know what their home life was like or where they come from, and they might not say those kinds of things unless they speak the whole time. these personal details make the videos more touching.
Whales have pods. Cattle have herds. Birds have flocks. Humans....humans used to have tribes. The only thing holding us back from banding together and getting through this and making the world a better place is ourselves. Take care of the people in your community, and they will take care of you. Peace be upon us.
The three wishes I had would cure the systemic problems that lead to men like Calvin and homelessness.
Nationalize the banks and arrest the banksters.
Pass the Tobin tax on securities trading. Tax Wall Street! It's a tax they cannot pass down to us!
Use the money to crank up FDR's New Deal work programs like the PWA, CCC, and WPA. There's enough real work that needs doing where we would have zero unemployment! We've got to stop wasting our labor force on junk jobs, McJobs, and unemployment.
@InfiniteMushroom If you could please maybe write me a message and speak of all these things in detail. I'm very interested and would like to be enlightened. I find that I tend to get very confused about government situations. Maybe you could talk more about all you've written in a sort of Dummy's Guide way so I can understand it more? Ha...Thank you. Take care.
Wow... Hope he found a job out ther e... Isn't America a wealthy n powerful country..? Why this happen...? Maybe there are thing that we couldn't change even if we struggle...
u can tell he is such a great guy....people judge those that are homeless when they ask for change...u don't know how, what, where, when, these horrible things brought them to this condition....if handing $1 is not going to kill you or starve you why not just give....? and if you don't give, don't sit there and bitch and complain about these people like you know what they been thru.....this message is for all the arrogant people out there.
the system thats supposed to help the homeless is dysfunctional the money thats supposed to help the homeless in america is used to help illegal immigrants and low wage earners overseas american citizens are being cheated out of their own money by the coperations and the politicians.
This is horrible! I was homeless at the age of 14/15. It was not easy. People prey on you and try to exploit you especially if you are a woman. I know. It happend to me. I really wish deep in my heart that everyone could have an equal amount of real access to resources. No reason in the world for this. This is the WEALTHIEST county in the world.
Wow i don't think I can hear these sad stories and just walk away in the end? Mark how do you do it? I know you do what you can but there are so many and your not rich. do you keep in contact with them in anyway after this ? do you get their full names after you film them? If I were to win the mega, i would try to help them all
I think the homeless problem in D.C. bothers me more than most cities. Not because the people everywhere else aren't as important, but because you have politicians in huge buildings doing nothing but lying to people and getting/taking millions while right outside their window, people can't afford decent shelter or even food. america! Capitalism must end.
@VideoGuyNC Capitalism is not the problem my friend Corruption in the Federal Gov is!! The federal reserve is Capitalism is the free market and it has served us well until it was hijacked buy wall street and the fed reserve Now you are being tricked into believing that it is Capitalism that is the problem
@dmhappy2777 Capitalism, by its very name, is the securitization of property, commodities, people, and anything else to back financial capital. The Federal Reserve is unconstitutional on its face and rode in on a fraudulent act in 1913.
Capitalism orders society and our labors to the service of finance capital. It is serfdom and ultimately leads to slavery, which is where we are today. Capitalism demands human sacrifice to save finance capital, which is what we see everywhere. It IS the problem!
@dmhappy2777 Yes capitalism is the problem behind the rising homeless problem. Capitalist ideologies dictate that there has to be widely varying levels in the system to make the whole thing work. It requires that some have lots of money at the "top", so those at the bottom will try to obtain the capital of those at the top. Problem is, the top dogs piss on us and call it a gift. And many end up falling off the system because the rich simply bank their massive capital instead of circulating it.
The Fed Reserve, IMF, World bank, central bank These are the culprit and blaitent
This corrupt Organizations have no resemblance to " free market capitalism" What you have here is like the Republican party stepping in and saying they are the tea party on steroids It's a lie Free Market Capitalism is what brought America to the forefront in all industries.... We where sold out buy crooks!
@VideoGuyNC Correct... also its interesting (frightening too) to see how big companies get bigger each year by swallowing the smaller ones (like AB Inbev :s) i wonder what will happen with these big industries, they are getting more powerfull then governments. in time of the industrial revolution the big working class got paid so little they had to rent houses from... the very own companies they worked for. plus sort of tickets to buy overpriced food in the stores of that same company. no escape
Please do a follow up on this guy, he is really deserving, they all are and no one deserves to be homeless, but this guy really touched my heart. I feel sorry for myself sometimes, I live in an old trailer, working on a rat infestation and the floors are rotting but I have a roof and a job and food so I'm doing very well considering the alternatives.
@TheLApitfighter I don't understand how or why anyone can be homeless and on the streets in this country, one of the richest in the world, with all the resources we have, and still people suffer. It is unconscionable.
I hope we get a followup to Calvin and God bless him.
@skylur44 I was homeless a almost 6 years ago, i had gone through some personal things, lost my job, had been a victim of a crime, lost my apt then custody of my daughter, then forced into a shelter, i later got a job at target corp, worked full time, became pregnant with twins, but my abuser kept messing with me. I was clean and sober and trying my best. i am an advocate, artist and advocate now. but stilll struggle myself. constant slumlords. and no help from no one. for anyone. its crazy.
@mosaicgraffiti I agree, it almost reminds me of the conditions in France just before the Revolution. Two percent at the top have most of the wealth and none of it "trickles down" to where it's needed. There is no excuse for a country as rich as ours to have citizens who are cold homeless and hungry.
@skylur44 Bad times teach us either to be an arogant, selfish materialist or to be hardworking, generous, thankful and sensitive. I am sure you will get better, because you've chosen that second path (your comment proved this). The most important thing is to learn everyday how to live and don't listen to people who want to hurt you to make themselves feel better.
1 a job, this man wants to work. He just wants to work, have a roof over his head and be grateful like most of Americans minus the grateful part. I'm glad I have a roof over my head, shoes on my feets, warm clothes to wear and food to eat. Thank you!
DC man it is cold there today. A bike a shouvel some paracord and a tarp would really help these guys. I have a video in my favorites where a female economists says this is all planned they are trying to reduce population my question is are they trying to do it by freezing many of them to death. They talk about welfare but corporate welfare just for sports is 2Billion a year more than they take in for ticket sales etc they are failing we are sponsoring sports WHY! WalMart they are the worst.
god bless you calvin.
