  • why dont they have brakes?

  • @fixedtrix1 because they slow the bike down.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! This guy is AMAZING!!!!!!!! And, I know what I am talking about, being a former UCI 1k TT racer. My first attempt in training, I popped off a blazing 1:20. Afet a solid year of training, I was able to regularly clock a 1:10. In competitions, I was posting an average of 1:07's. For someone to do this, with such limits as he has, is truly impressive. Kudos to you, Simon! Challenges don't stop you!

  • why is the outside crank longer than the inside?

  • DANG!!!!!! whats his gearing

  • The reason his crank is shorter on the one side is because of his classifaction as a LC3, meaning he technically can use only one leg. They actually changed this rule now and you can no longer use a shorter crank. I know this because I race in the LC3 class as a AK amputee

  • why is the left crank way smaller than the right? duh fuhhh?

  • woooo simon!

  • hey why do they always put a disc in the rear wheel instead of the front?

  • so at the start when they clamp their tyre, they dont bend the spokes

  • neck yourself. It's aerodynamics. get your shit right, then try and act smart.

  • what do you mean by disc in the rear wheel?

  • The rear wheel has the most turbulance and drag, placing the disk at the back reduces turbulance and makes the bike more aerodynamic.

  • Having it in the front will make the bicycle harder to control.

While the bicycle is turning the air will not be hitting the front wheel head-on, making the bicycle wobble.

  • Jesus. What is his ratio? 56 - 11?

  • wow TARDS

  • no kidding! haha

  • Fantastic!!! 1: 14 on the 1k TT is an outstanding result for any athlete! For a handicapped athlete is just out of this world!

  • i guess that is a good idea to have a short left crank so it won't hit the surface of the track as you lean left.

  • No, you never lean that far over on the track. On the right hand side, maybe, but on the left, never.

Anyway, its not a good idea to have different length cranks.

  • i dont know i go pretty fast

  • Measure your quads. I'd bet one may be bigger than the other if you're running different length cranks, and that's not a good thing.

  • disabilities suck

  • Well the whole banked-corner velodrome thing has two main purposes - 1) It's easier to control the bike around the corners at high speed - and 2) You won't strike your pedal on the ground. The cote d'azur represents where you will strike a crank on the ground, but that's not even on the real track.

  • it looks like his left foot is barely pedaling....or am i just imagining that because of how his bike is leaning to the left?

  • he doesnt have full control on the left side of his body so they shortened his crank so it is more efficient peddeling. how do i know this? well me n my dad have ridden with him and are now friends.

  • @chummy93 I' m^Physical Therapy. It's first time that i see a video of paralympic ciclist. ¿he have a amputation in his lefft leg at femur lever?. I think that is time is absolutely incredible. The prothesis of the leg is for estethic porpurses?

  • yes

his right is longer than his left

  • his crank arms look so short...
