Bunch of greasy students who play music, the show i saw went really EMO and i had to leave. The bands image is rubbish, they look like a tramps, they all have their own look which is confusing. You can only listen to fiddles for so long, they seem to understand variety but the variety is very limited. All the negative points are down to bad management, too much unconstructive input, i feel they could be a lot better.
@MiniTheD I could have mentioned all the underage drinkers at the event who were happily gussling down alcohol bought for them by adults, i could have mentioned that only about 50 people turned up and half of them were children under the age of 18 who were drunk and the other half looked like the musicians family.
I commented based on what impression the band gave me, it does not reflect what the general public think, this is what feedback is for and you can't please everyone.
@MiniTheD Its called first impressions buddy, you learn about this in school, if the group only look tidy at big gigs then what does that say about the group? The underage drinking is a negative influence for the bands image, do people need to be drunk to enjoy this music? The gig looked more like an excuse for kids to get pissed and the bands families to watch the group in action, hardly makes it unique, makes it like a normal friday night on the tiles, i can get into places for free to do that.
arkhatych! I have absolutely no idea what you mean by that? - This music does not come under the Celtic banner either. "The war drum does not beatith"
This is totally amazing. me and my best pal just got pished at a session down at the pub and we went up the road dancing and pretend fiddiling to this tune up the road....on her phone. amazing! so gutted i only discovered them TONIGHT ina drunken stupor. i have the name printed on my arm in eyeliner. mmmm.
I saw the boys at the ABC and it was fantastic, great atmosphere. They are playing at the Cambridge folk festival this year and I've got my ticket to see them there too, and then I'm going to Bella drum. Does that make me an aging groupie? Who cares...the music is vibrant and I love it.
Totally gutted i missed them at CC, Saw most of them one night at the Festival club but missed the gig at ABC can't wait to see them at Bella though, should be a lethal gig!
Yup, it's "Spree" by Bennett - "gone but not forgotten" as they said at the gig. They even persuaded the audience to sing along with the melody: pretty moving.
Awesome! I was there and I think you've captured it brilliantly. Does this mean that there is a recording of the gig? I would kill for a copy of that Smooth Criminal cover!
can't wait to see them next week.
