  • @heymynameistyler Hey man! Yeah, I wrote this tune about four years ago. Actually the first country-tune I ever wrote. Since then it has been covered many times around here on youtube! =) It has been used on local TV as well! I made a lesson based on this a couple of years ago. Check it out among my vids! Cheers!

  • Very good, I love country and telecaster. I leave the link below for those who want to see my country guitar video. Regards to all!

  • Very tasty picking, and great tone.

  • I think real country is the shit!!!! and takes allot of skill to play.

  • This is really good! how long have you been practising it for?

  • sweet playing!

  • Hey... those are some smokin' open string tricks.

  • Aw, wow man! Very cool!! Good job!

  • Hey man you mind me askin what amp and pedals you used?

  • @Rushworshiper92 Hi! On this take I used the amp and pedalboard simulators in Logic. This was a couple of years ago when I was searching for the country-twang tone that I´ve finally found. Youtube adds a lot of compression to the sound I guess.. But the effects are: compression, a short delay (slapback) and reverb into a simulated Fender-amp! "In real life" I use a Keeley Compressor, a Wampler Hot Wired, Xotic RC Booster and T-Rex Replica Delaypedal into my Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. Take care!

  • The tabs? please put the tabs here

  • nice one

  • This is some tasty picking, buddy, totally enjoyed it.

  • hey jus wonderin but when u pick do u use ur other fingers with it? like it looks like ur using ur middle finger but im not sure...and u should totally do a lesson cuz id love to learn some of this stuff

  • @tooleytim From the sound of it, he's using his middle and ring finger to pick., and it sounds pretty cool. If you really wanna learn this kinda stuff, I'd recomend downloading the guitar pro file of Jerry's Breakdown at that ultimate Guitar tab site, and buying Paul Pigat's fingerpicking DVD. Unless of course, the fella who made this video wants to put a few lessons up for us. Come on, Twang! Show me some pickin' licks! :)

  • Sounds awesome. Great job!

  • Tab Please :)) Nice work!!

  • Man I wish I had your fingers, Mine look like Vienna sausages

  • Sweet playing my man!

  • Awesome! Nice job. Very James Burton like feel.

    Love it!

  • You sound gREAT!!! -Billy

  • You're a twang master :P

  • Beautiful work man! I wish I could play like that. 40 yrs and I still can't

  • Cool. That sound is worth a lot of money!

  • Original '52?

  • Comment removed

  • @CoolEditz It's a "52 hotrod" it came out fairly recently.

  • Great playing my friend, love that tele sound! 5 Stars!

  • great playin...

  • nice telecaster and superb playin

  • Nice!

  • Hey! that's some great tele pickin you do there! what kinda tele is that?

  • Thanks! The guitar is a Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele. A piece of art that makes guitarplaying a dream!

  • I see a problem here........It's not long enough. I loved this so much that I was sad when it was over.

  • amazing

  • sounds great! congratss

  • Man that is well done!! Very smooth and original sounding...keep making that tele twang bro, god bless...

  • Thanks for the encouragement, mate! There are more videos coming up soon. I never let my amp chill! =)

  • Hey! great chicken picking man! love those banjo rolls of yours. I just wondered which video software you used to make this video. I use corel videostudio to make my guitarvideos, but that program won't allow me to overdub audio. so I'm not able to record video with solo over a backing track

  • Thanks, eller takk! I use Logic studio for the audio, and iMovie for the video. Once you go Mac, you´ll never go back! =)

  • Yeha man ... Cooooooolllll !!!Nice job!!!

  • helll yeahhh amazing playing !!I Love country music but I think it´s dificuilt to play, technique and all,so I play trash metal :D Keep it up man u´ll hit it big one day with your band 4 sure.

    Greetings from Slovakia

  • Really great riffs and playing.

I love those open string runs.

I don't know how you recorded it, but you deserve a better sound, at least on youtube.

  • Thanks for your kind comment, mate! I agree, the sound is really crap. This was recorded through my audio interface into Logic. Live I use Keeley compression, a clean boost and an analog delay unit to geat a great sound. I´ll upload some songs on myspace within a few weeks so stop by and tell me what you think! Cheers! //Marcus

  • fantastic ,you playing in a band?

  • Thanks mate! At the moment I play in a country-band called "White Trash Twang Gang".. See ya!

  • Man that is some hot pickin!

  • how/where did you learn all these licks??

  • I´ve learned it all by myself, with a lot of help from great dvd:s. Once you get the technique it just keeps going. My best tip is to buy the Brent Mason and Jerry Donahue instructional dvd´s, they are the best out there in my opinion!

  • Nice rolls!

  • Made me smile! Great pickin! 5*

    Gretsch'n

  • Sweet! I feel this music sounds like it's made out of pure joy of life! I love the similarities country has to blues. Very nice guitar tone too. / Ludde

  • MarQ;

Enjoyed the picking very much. Would like to get video lessons from you for the theme for Anne. It would have to be note for note as I am only an intermediate picker. Please let me know if this is possible. Heard a lot of good pickers on the site, none better than you.

  • Thanks for the comment! I´m actually planning to make some shorter video lessons as soon as I get the time. Lots of work to do in the next two weeks, but please subscribe and I´ll let you know when its done! /Marcus

  • This was really great. I hate it when guys go too fast. It sounds sloppy and hides mistakes. You have a great, clean, and tasteful sound. Great job!!!

  • Thanks for your very kind comment, mate! I´m glad you like it. Best regards Marcus

  • you got the title wrong! . . it should read . . "RED Hot Country Guitar Pickin" i just LOVE it!

the 52 Hot Rod Tele is soooooo creamy!

  • Thanks a lot mate!

  • That was wonderful! Do you have a tips to start learning more open string licks like what you played. I've tried to learn some Danny Gaton stuff but was overwhelmed by the speed! hahaha Keep it up!

  • Thanks! Two essential starting tips: 1. Sound/right hand technique: Instead of regular "alternate picking", try to only use downstrokes with the pick, and instead of upstrokes use your middle/ring-fingers! To even the tone out I use some compression in combination with a slightly hearable delay. 2. Scales/arpeggios. Start in G major at 3:d fret and play the scale with as many open strings as possible: G, A open, B, C, D open etc.. This is how I started. Good luck!

  • Great, I will go try it out now. I naturally play with my fingers, so I just need to develop these new patterns! Thanks for these awesome tips. Keep rocking youtube!

  • Very Nice,sweet tone!

  • Jägarns vad folk det är som sitter och fluktar på twang. Ser fram emot att höra den nya låten med dina nya twang-linor.

  • very nice Marq. keep em coming.

  • Tu joue très bien!! excellent!!!

    StephGag

  • Thank you! I really dig your stuff too!

  • Nice playin ,I to am working on my country twang thing and any tip and tricks would be great .

    cheers and thanks

  • Love your pickin'!! How do you get that that open sound like that, that's what I'm working on. I use .010's Ernie Ball regualar Slinkies because I am mainly a rock/blues player and like that extra meat to grab on to for my bends. Thanks for your comments!!

  • Thanks Rob! I use a lot of open strings when I play. I really dig those harp-sounding tone-cascades that appears when using this technique. To receive an even sounding tone i also use some compression. In a few days I´ll upload a lesson where you´ll see my views and tips regarding this techniqe. Warm regards Marc
