I was 7 when the McEwans advert was out in 1986, remember it VERY well, was one of my favourite adverts on TV as well as the BOLS advert that was out at the same time, I've always had some very mature tastes!
W.t.f. I mind this song when I was 15 off the McEwans advert the guys rolling the stone up the maze and ran out and ordered it from the local record store took 3 weeks to get it . Am now 41 and it still sounds brilliant
I always found it hard to reconcile the song - You've got the Power - with the strap line of the ad - Alive and Kicking. Was it meant for Simple Minds and they knocked it back?
Yeah - this was a great track. About 10 years ago i was working in a hospital in edinburgh and the guy behind Win was one of my patients - he came in with a Spit head...good guy
found this at last! this track has been the centre on many a pub argument at my local. just need to find the album now...any ideas? thr lager was shit btw...
Now then, now then, now then boys & girls ---- your Uncle Jim says "You've got the power" & I've got the drugs

Takes me back to house parties when still at school. A lad called James Adkin brought it in on vinyl from Sheffield. Good Times !

This song screams 80s - and that's a total compliment! Very underrated track. McEwans FTW!
