If Chan Marshall (Cat Power) sobered up sooner she'd be filling goddamn arenas...I'm not judging her, I don't know what she's been through... but that's my personal opinion. Her music is great, but unfortunately drinking ended messing with her live performances and making her a little uncomfortable when performing.

I saw the tour for this record 2003, she was really drunk and in a bad place because she had just broken up with the love of her life Daniel who is the guy in this video (he was a model at the time but toured with a her a lot selling her merch I think he felt inferior plus he is about 7 years younger than her). She still sounded wonderful when she could get through a song.

I love Cat Power. Pity Ms Marshall is a bit nervous when performing live. Seen her twice, both shows were a waste of time, has soured me from ever bothering to see her live again. And makes me wonder how many shoots it took to get videos like this one done. Still, like I say, the music she does on her own and in collaborations (check out Handsome Boy Modelling School) is nothing short of fantastic.

What's awesome is that that guitar sounds so damn nice and yet it doesn't take much more than a pawn shop guitar and just the right tweaking on some small old amp to get that sound. It doesn't take some tricked out rig to get your guitar to sound cool so long as you're patient &/or creative.
