Yes, some Asians do lighten to look like Caucasians but I'm telling you now that most of us do it for purely aesthetic reasons. And like I already said.... i have used likas papaya for 4 years now and i can honestly say it had helped me become lighter. i used it for my face and body too and cause i've been using it for so long, i noticed that i don't break out at all anymore. i used to have tiny bumps on the side of my forehead and pimples, but since the soap dries out your face, it dried out the extra oils on my face. but that's just for me, other people get allergic reactions (redness/itchiness). it's really effective tho. i use it all the time

this was SUPER helpful! I used Skin White and Likas (pronounced Lee - kahs but you said it cute) before. I usually get them from asian supermarkets or from the Philippines. I'm filipino & my face is pretty light but my arms and legs are really dark which is not attractive bcus when i put on foundation, it looks like a white cast when really,my face is jus lighter than the rest of my body. people stereotype us whn they say we're dark and its almost true except ppl frm manila are rly light !

I have light skin and always use fake tan. I guess we are never happy with what we are born with. I went to Thailand last year and had never heard of skin whitening before being from Australia , i could not beliveve there were so many products.
me I don't think I would need to whiten my skin anymore. I have very very fair skin and the only area that needs any attention is on my cheeks due to rosacia. I wish there was a cream to treat the red scar like bumps it makes. I heard using Green tinted foundation helps conceal it, but I want a more perminente fix.
@iownall Getting tan from being out in the sun can, of course, be natural. But the length some people go to just to get tan,...well, there isn't anything natural about that, whether it's through sunbathing or laying in a tanning bed. Nothing wrong with tanning but just saying it ain't natural. People's idea of what is and what isn't natural is so altered now.

@iwuvsuperjunior brigthening is hard to explain it gives you this fresh, younger look. You won't see a color change..but you skin looks healthier...and it's not like the "oh I wish it look healthier" and you trick you mind into it..it's really noticeable..haha I don't know if I am good at explaining this..anyone else want to stab at this?

This video was amazingly informative. I definitely get annoyed that people think when Asians whiten their skin, they're trying to look "white". Please sweetie, I know asians who are naturally whiter than some white people. And I know Asians who DON'T like pale skin and would rather go to the tanning salon. It's a personal preference so why don't you guys all get off your high horses and stop being so damn judgmental.

@CRUNKKGLAM > it may not be your version of beauty but it is for the majority of the Asian population's. Just because you don't think it's beautiful doesn't mean it's wrong. Yes, some Asians do lighten to look like Caucasians but I'm telling you now that most of us do it for purely aesthetic reasons. And like I already said.... Most Asians are already born NATURALLY pale. We use these to get rid of summer tans or enhance that.

Do you think the only consumers of hair dye products are Asians? I never said you didn't think other cultures do those things, I'm simply telling you it's not only Asians. And my point was to show you that all cultures use the same products and it's unfair that mostly Asians get all the criticism.>

i have used likas papaya for 4 years now and i can honestly say it had helped me become lighter. i used it for my face and body too and cause i've been using it for so long, i noticed that i don't break out at all anymore. i used to have tiny bumps on the side of my forehead and pimples, but since the soap dries out your face, it dried out the extra oils on my face. but that's just for me, other people get allergic reactions (redness/itchiness). it's really effective tho. i use it all the time

I've been using lightning creams for years on spots. Works well for me. I'm using Ambi right now and it's fading my dark circles.

this was SUPER helpful! I used Skin White and Likas (pronounced Lee - kahs but you said it cute) before. I usually get them from asian supermarkets or from the Philippines. I'm filipino & my face is pretty light but my arms and legs are really dark which is not attractive bcus when i put on foundation, it looks like a white cast when really,my face is jus lighter than the rest of my body. people stereotype us whn they say we're dark and its almost true except ppl frm manila are rly light !

@youhatejesskuh yeah i know there used to be but idk if they sell it anymore. it was called eztan or something like that...my dad had a gym back in the 80's and the guys used to take them lol. a bunch of guido's :)

I agree, lightening your skin doesn't change the asian race but just to let you know not all african americans change the color of their skin, eyes, etc...Just to let you know. Some are but not all so please dont refer to us as "they"

I have light skin and always use fake tan. I guess we are never happy with what we are born with. I went to Thailand last year and had never heard of skin whitening before being from Australia , i could not beliveve there were so many products.

me I don't think I would need to whiten my skin anymore. I have very very fair skin and the only area that needs any attention is on my cheeks due to rosacia. I wish there was a cream to treat the red scar like bumps it makes. I heard using Green tinted foundation helps conceal it, but I want a more perminente fix.

Except if you don't go out in the sun your skin is going to turn to it's natural color, it's not going to bleach your skin as whitening cream would.

@iownall Getting tan from being out in the sun can, of course, be natural. But the length some people go to just to get tan,...well, there isn't anything natural about that, whether it's through sunbathing or laying in a tanning bed. Nothing wrong with tanning but just saying it ain't natural. People's idea of what is and what isn't natural is so altered now.

i used to have the worst acne scars on my forehead... but i never used any of the things that you use(d). i just used astringent. it might sting a little at first but it works really good. just use the sensitive skin one... that's the one i used.

@ChanShelly @ChanShelly Yeah, there are African Americans out there who try to lighten up their skin. Just because you never heard about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. And of course, not the majority of African Americans get nose jobs. She was just giving an example of how people of another race alter their looks through plastic surgery. It doesn't necessarily mean they're trying to change their race.
