  • Looks like 8 tons of slow cars to me. Both are heavy ass cars. DEFINATELY not good track cars. Pick up a good ole fox body mustang and run circles around those things with only 250 rwhp.

  • @transamman305 ok, shut the fuck up. for 1, those cars DO NOT weigh a collective 8 tons. the mitsu weighs in at 3,700, and the supra about 3,600. 2, of course they r not track cars. the mitsu would be classified by an insurance agent as a grand tourer, and the supra jus a lil sportier. the japan-sold-only Mitsu GTO stands for Grand Tourer Ogolomoto. and 3, the day you find a shitstain that run rings around either of these cars, (specially a fox body), will be the end of the world for sure.

Why do you think they are one of the number one SCCA track cars? Light, decent power, and awesome handling. And last time I checked, 3600-3700 lbs was heavy as shit. Guy I know has a fox stang with a stock 5.0 with a cam and just lowering springs. Car weighs 2700 lbs with weight taken out, and I can GUARANTEE you it would wipe the track with those cars.

If thats how you want to play, when my trans am is done with a 5.3 V8 and a 76mm turbo, then we can race and I can guarantee you you may not do so well. I'll be on stock internals as well since I don't need forged to make that power. I should weigh 3200 lbs too so I hope you put that pig on a big diet to keep up. Got any vids of your supposed built stealth?

  • @blackBLUR89 Your still young compared to me. I've been playing with cars for 9 years. And not just "studying" them. Wrenching on them. Enough to know that my motor will NOT blow after 10k miles. That combo has been proven for 100's of track passes and years on the street. You can't believe that though since you had to forge that turd V6 of yours to make the same power my BONE STOCK bottom end will handle. Keep living with your junk V6. I'd be at 1000 whp with a forged bottom end.

But if not, i'll just leave you at the line smokin. and the only forged internals i have are my connecting rods, the crankshaft is stock and the pistons are aluminum. Im also running the stock gearbox with a carbon fiber driveshaft for weight savings. wut u got, a lameass torque flight? But enuff talkin,

  • @blackBLUR89 I could make my car dead hook on the street if I wanted to. Doesn't take much with a well set up RWD. And FYI, all pistons are aluminum, forged or not...theres that experience kicking in. I also actually have the stock gearbox...T56 6 speed manual, not built or anything. It'll hold up just fine for my power. And no offense, but your going to need a WHOLE lot more than a carbon fiber driveshaft to get that pig down in weight. Mine weighs 3250 lbs with power everything.

I wudnt mind havin a new trams "glam" to sell for parts, lol. and fyi, a bone stock 6g72 is good for up to 18 psi, and come stock w/14. all i gotta do is turn up the boost, not spend 3 to 4k on a turbo kit and do all kinds of tuning. not to mention yur new fuel and ignition systems upgrades. Just cuz im younger than doesn't mean I dont know what I'm talking about. and a stock 6g72 on 18psi makes over 400 to the wheels. not a turd in my book.

  • @blackBLUR89 First of all, you wouldn't be taking home my "trans glam" since you woudn't win, and second, my turbonetics T76 is good for 900 RWHP....so all I have to do is "crank up the boost" too. My entire fuel system cost maybe 500$. Bigger lines, dual walbros, and bigger injectors. Thats it. Good for 1200 RWHP. Ignition is stock and works just fine. And by the way I paid 2200$ for the car. Like the saying goes, theres no replacement for displacement, and I've got more.

Look at the old skools and sum OEMs. Ive seen and handled cast iron. and where u get yur deals at, ebay? and weight is not an issue. actually it can b an advantage. look up matt monet's stealth. gutted and all that and it squirms all over the track. 3700lbs, 320hp, and 0-60 in 5.1? QM in 13.6 @ 103? not to shabby

  • @blackBLUR89 Maybe back in the day SOME pistons could have been iron but all from like the 70's up are aluminum. And I could say the same to you...why mention cranking up the boost on yours if it's not what your at now? Weight ussually isn't an advantage for anything....it makes handling worse, it makes acceleration worse.....maybe weight over the back of a RWD hooks better but you can make a light RWD hook awesome too.

  • @transamman305 i just watched your vid wen it had the 355 in it, and i must say, very clean, lack of a speed sensor must be annoying, but sounds good. so is that huffy snail(turbo) and borg warner in it yet? wurs that vid at guy? and you amazingly short gears, unless you were shifting early. third gear in my stealth is good for almost 110, and 5 and 6 are overdrives. But anywho, keep in touch, im very serious about a race. Im willing to make the trip for the fun.....

  • @blackBLUR89 check out my other vids of the build. You'll see the motor, turbo, car, suspension. I've been documenting it all and putting it up here. I have 4:10 rear gears which is why they seem short, and I was shifting at 6k RPM's. Car will be done in the spring and I would love to run you. Where are you from anyways? I'm outta CT. BTW, thanks for the compliment. We going to call this a truce?

  • Im not sure if this is a VR4 or automatic SL or what...... but if it is a Vr-4, you can push it way faster on the turns.

    Speaking of the turns, the closer you get to that outside wall and the closer you go towards the inside wall, the faster you can cut the apex. one of the most common problems with drivers is being afraid of the wall.

    i saw a couple of turns where the apex was cut a bit too late, but hey.. its not like you're a professional driver. were all human in the end. im not perfect :D

  • @1994SHOtime VR4 and SL have the same DOHC 6g72 motor, the only difference is that VR4 has twin turbo. This is why some do VR4 conversion

  • 300Gt has zero chance against a supra. I was in a 98 Lincoln Continental with transmission problems and we still took a regular 3000Gt not a v-r4 up a hill. Torque>hp.

  • A regular 3000GT only got 200~220 Hp men...You would never rip a 3000gt VR-4 , with a Lincoln Continental with transmission problems .. Go and search someone like you class!

  • @Snortemup I'm assuming you have a BASE engine for a 98 continental, which if im not mistaken, is a 4.6L v8 making 250-260 horsepower.

    Funny story- stock 3000gt's- non VR-4s, even the SL, had a MINIMUM of 40 less.

    I've had transmission problems, and while my shifts were hard and slow (sometimes not at all) it didn't stop it from performing in a major way. If you had any kind of serious transmission problem, you wouldn't have been racing- or driving.

  • It was almost as if the driver of the supra had never raced a car in his life. He wasn't turning on those corners correctly for the speed that he would have wanted, and he was over steering.

  • No I wasn't making an excuse. The 3000 GT is a very fast car, and probably faster compared to the Supra, as the supra was stock in this video.

    But you would think that they would get better drivers for these sorts of tracks.

  • I think the resemblance is a coincidence, a lot of cars of that era looked similar (Lotus Esprit, 300ZX, Ford Probe, etc). 3rd gen was 86.5-92 already, so you probably meant 4th. Also the TRD3000GT was due to the displacement, just like the racing MR2 was the TRD2000GT. The Mitsu 3000GT wasn't even originally called that since it's the Mitsubishi GTO in Japan.

    3000GT is a common name for a car with 3000 ccs and a GT car

    They were both way ahead of their time. The VR-4 was known as, and built to be faster than the Supra in almost every way. The supra RZ (1997) has a weight/HP ratio of 12.48. the VR-4 had a ratio of 10.27, was lower to the ground, AWD, and was spooling the same turbo. It had more HP on the straights, and ate the shit out of the supra on the turns. Go smoke your joint and make an uneducated and biased statement. Meanwhile, im rolling a B of train wreck.
