This is the second time I've seen Ryu manhandled like that. The first was a Super Street Fighter IV promo video starring Juri. At least that was justified: it was showing off a new character's bo- I mean, "moveset". This is simply ignorance of Ryu's skills, even if it's probably canon that Akuma would manhandle Ryu like this (storyline-wise, if not necessarily in real gameplay), then leave him alive to get better so that eventually Akuma would have an opponent instead of a training dummy.

Well for starts it does probably the most damage out of any ultra in the game, two use can use it as a counter to someones mistakes especially guys who like to shyruken a lot (hint hint u ken bums). It's easy to learn, and there are so many ways you can set it up. The best part is that it works good for when your jabbing low with light punches. If the second punch lands you can go straight into it and it's unblockable.

Agreed. That guy was with his guard low all the time, being hit with some silly hadoukens. Akuma sure is tricky, since SSF2T he used to connect the low kick tatsumakisenpuukyaku with shoryuken. Learn to avoid that and he´s 50% more easy to beat. Also, avoiding jump with fierce kick is good either. Jumping with fierce punch is a lot more effective.
