I keep hearing you have to put every different color on a different layer. Does that include shades and highlights? If so, what's the layer's setting? Normal, lumi & shade, multiply?

you can put shades and highlights on a different layer but i wouldn't if you do put it on normal

How do you make it so that only the areas you want to color get colored?
Cuz I saw you go over previously colored parts and it just skipped those parts at coloring.. even tho you made one sweep over it.
