If you swim just ahead of the dolphin your escorting and hit the enemy first before they reach him, it makes things 10X easier. It took a long time but I've beaten all the ecco games this one and the two original sega ones.

Haha I still have this for my dreamcast, but like two years ago I ordered it for ps2. Best game ever. As a kid it scared me, and well it still scares me now. But it's such a good game.

Oh Ecco was such a good game.

Only the 5 last levels were bullshit.... i never made it through the last one.

Time, bad camera and always getting damage... phew no way.

i loved this game so much but the proplem is i cant play it any more since i have a terrible fear of games taken place under water lol and the great white shark in the 2nd level did not help at all lol and the caves and id probaly pass out if i played this level:]

I loved this game when I was like 8...but I never got round to finishing it because everything was so dang hard and longwinded =.= Also everything scared me when it started to get sinister...

Do you remember the massive eel really early on in the game that you had to get past with the ray?....I spent many hours trying to get around that thing =.= i always died...such a long and frustrating game, yet also excellent =D

Yeah...that was only like level 5 xD there were like 20 levels or something.... all I know is that I never finished it, but my grandad did when he came over xD ( I was like 8 ok! lol ) so all the levels are technically completed on my game. I just didn't do it ;)

this game is very hard XD (I only got to like... four was of mystery or whatever thats called) then I used cheats yaaay. XD but I rented it along time ago and we took it back cuz it scared my sister and I to death! And plus something was wrong because we couldn't save the game. But I found it again a few years ago and bought it xP still haven't beaten it yet!

@DetoxRogue Actually if you're talking about one species of fish, like a clown fish, you would just say fish. But if you're talking about multiple species, like guppies, gourami, and discus then it would be fishes.

actually the gator is a mutant specimen much like the clan and outcast dolphins of that reality.

the giant squid found later in the hanging waters level is also a mutant because it has five arms instead of three, and it can live high in the air above the island.

I love this game so much. I just bought it again a few days ago. Can't wait till it gets here. I don't remember that boss at all though. Which level is it on? The only problem I had with that games is the fact that I'm a really jumpy person so anytime anything would randomly appear and attack me I'd about have a heart attack lol.

They have been digging into they're past franchises, like the Nights sequel (horrible btw), Samba De Amigo, Ghost Squad etc. but leaving out some core ones. Among them are Ecco, Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, PowerStone and many others, I'm a sad Panda :(

It is, it is a seperate storyline from the Original Ecco games. Ecco gave himself to the tides of time in Ecco 2 remember ;).

ANd this game was great, fantastic gfx for its time (showing what the DC could do) and very good music. Loved it.

This is true, Ecco DotF was an alternate story, (and I liked it myself :D) but the creator Ed Annunziata said he hoped for Ecco to be a trilogy, and it's behind the reason why Ecco didn't destroy the time machine: "He went to join the atlanteans, there are specific reasons I reserved for the 3rd game. I may still make that episode so I'll keep that stuff to myself." (Source is an interview on an Ecco site 'Dark Sea') I'd love for them to make a next-gen Ecco game of THAT intended sequel! :)

I never knew one could defeat the aligator like that. I always just charged it and released myself from the jaws when it got me, ate some fish and start chaging at it again. It works fine for me, but appearently not as well as this method.

the way I do it is the way they intended it xDD;; because they give you all the proper stuff to do it... stalagmites, and the sonic echo thingy... that knocks them down

ppsshh i got to like...lvl 27 or something like that and my memory card couldnt load the saved game anymore. i got so pissed and had to start over. i cant get past perpetual fluidity (i think thats the one) where there are all the switches and rising water levels. my DC's in VT so i cant get the walkthroughhhh:-P

even though ive looked at the walkthough its like sooo confusing because there are lots of entrances and stuff into other rooms and i always kill the sharks because they scare me when they go after ecco. i dont like the crystal thing that helps me because it always gives you hints in puzzles.

lol. Do you know where the tunnel is that you can't get past because of those fish that bite and kill you before you can get out? (It's by the dolphin chasing that big fish) Well, you sing to the school of fish that you can't eat (they're a brownish color, and a little spiky.) then swim slowly with them through the tunnel and past the parranahs(they won't bite you if your with the brown ones.) Then you're there! Now you have to kill the great white :D

i see u got 1 vitalit missing...well i no wich 1 ur lookin 4 nd its @ the larg water pool before u finish that mission...

wen u jump out from the big flower things yeah, swim 4ward nd turn 90 degrees left nd VERY CAREFULLY look 4 a PURPLE vitalit (its up on a rock outside the water)

...tell me if lookin 4 it got on ur nerves nd hope this helps ALOT ^^

ok,i can remember ALL of the vitalits i found:

*2 in the maze (one yellow and one white)

*1 in the cavern of hope wer the other dolphins are(a red one in the big tree thing)

*1 purple in the big pool (u already have it i no)

*and 1 baby blue vitalit on the way to wer the crocodile is (the path wer u have 2 guard the dolphin along), and and check VERY very carefully at the spear things (the sharp things) and the colour of the spears should be blue, so swim along them until u see it
