  • Nice vid man!

  • Great vid. I like the jackson.. is that a rr1? Also what dumbells are those, the bowflex? Just curious. Thanks.

  • Best reveiw I haev seen yet. Almost has more balls than the amp.

  • Not sure which is more awesome, the Jackson or the Mark

  • Hey man, are you an actor?

  • i have a question, why wouldn't you be able to control the mark v with midi when it has a midi footswitch input and it does the same thing? just asking.

  • @darkguiitargod The Mark V does not have a midi jack. You would need a control box to make it midi controllable. It does have 1/4 jacks that allow you to control the amp with an audio switcher. It is just as convienent.

  • @brownhog72 Yes it has. Taht footswitch jack is a 7-pin MIDI connector.

  • @darkguiitargod Hi well you can control it with midi but using a Mini Amp Gizmo very cool tool

  • maybe this is just my teenage mind but where in the hell do u get the money to get this stuff?

  • @kingofskate08 maybe he sold his kidney, or something else more drastic... like having a job and working hard to earn money to get the well deservd gear he has.

  • @buckethead30001 I had to sell my car :)

  • @kingofskate08 Dude, it's all about saving and investing money.

  • Man,thanks so much for a great video.I am looking for some good amp that could do it all and this Mesa V,even though is more expensive than I wanted to spend ,is amazing. You helped me a lot with all features( and there is a lot of them).Such a tonal versatility is one of the major factor for me,but also when you take all possibilities on a back, that makes this really helpful musical tool. There are other and cheaper amps, but none has such versatility. And Mesa warranty is really good too.

  • Nice to see that they brought the marks back. Nice vids you've got!

  • Looks at the back * shoots self*

  • Cool review. What else do you have hook-ed up underneath the head?

  • @JFRiley MAB Overdrive, T-Rex Delay, a noise reducer, and wah. that is about it.

  • I love your videos... But how the hell do you afford all that stuff?

  • @xxxDavidMaysxxx I have a job. I save money, I invest, I teach music, and I play out to make cahs in my band.

  • Nice Alice in Chains in the beginning, lol. Mesas definitely are some of the best amps to come out of the US, I'll be the proud owner of one in a few weeks.

  • I personally think the Roadster is a good compromise between the versatility and usable cleans you get with the Mark V, and the brootal-ness of a rec. 100W is more than enough for me.

  • Damn dude, what do you do for a living?

  • whats a better over all metal amp mark or a triple mesa

    o and nice jackson

  • 8:34 lick sounded a lot like No One Else by Weezer haha.

  • Man, your vids are definetely great. Question: can you reproduce the vintage channel of the dual rec with this mark?

  • Mark and Rectifiers are two different Mesa voicings. Neither can really reproduce the other. But with patience and some time I am sure you can get a tone you'll love.

  • What do you prefer the Mark V over the Triple Rec for (and vice versa)?

  • I find the V more versatile. More toneoptions, better cleans...and EQ.

  • @brownhog72 - And what would you say the Triple Rec does better than the Mark V?

  • Not better, just different. The cleans are definatelt better. I should not say "better" because it is subjective. You have more options for different tones.

  • Just wanted to say that the Mark V is like having "9 amps in one". It gives a wide range of tones.

The Rectifiers are more specialised in high gain heavy metal stuff. It also has good clean tones but the Mark V is better in that respect.

  • @brownhog72, Hi because of this video i bought a new mark v, thanks.. Its really a great amp, nothing else to say. Also, you play great and are very fun to watch. By the way, you are talking about changing channels using the GCX, how did you do it? Is it possible? I was thinking of buying a RJM mini amp gizmo but when i stumbled upon your review, it made me think twice. Can you make a demo on how you control the Mark v using the GCX audio switcher? THanks.....

  • @shinokugt

If you like solos, definitely the MKV! But the Rectos are amazing for Metal riffing, which doesnt mean the MarkV isnt.

Its just the classic case: Its a matter of your taste.

  • hey i just wanted to ask about this " bias" switch, whats the caution about it plz?

  • You just have to make sure it is set to the type of tubes you use.

  • Awesome review. Thanks for the detailed look at the amp.

  • Alice in Chains :)

  • very good review . nice amp . Prefer this one over other mesa's

  • Hey great demo. Can you plug in a un-powered monitor cabinet into the slave out?

  • Yes you can

  • @stheodor11 No you'd need a power amp. The slave out is just the preamp and FX loop, no power amp, so it's at 'line' level. You'd need a powered monitor or PA. It'll go into a mixer.

  • i was only joking. jesus christ. he's a good guitar player, have a sense of humor.

and hendrix is my idol i would never.

  • What a racist you are

Why didn't you just tell Hendrix to do so

  • Can you switch modes on the channels via external switching jacks with the GCX?

  • @DefiantDeath666 Yes, there's external switching jacks, but about 7 of them. G-lab do midi switchers specifically for mesa amps that mean you don't require a GCX to midi switch, and if you want to use a GCX it won't use up al the loops.

  • love your reviews. thanks a lot man.

  • thank you for doing the review!!!

  • the black dude at 30 seconds just made me delete them bones from my itunes

  • awesome

  • You're using iTunes. Retarded and rascist... Hmm.

  • How am I a racist and how exactly am I retarded for having an iPod?

  • nice review - typondis color doesn't matter for music just enjoy it - check out bad brains '82 or so all kinds of people play all kinds of music. It's all good.

I'm gonna trade in my rectoverb for mark V - nice job again

  • lmao dude u crack me up ha

  • Good review. Who cares about the string noise. I could still hear the amp and that's what was important and also your review of the amp was good.

  • I saw this amp going through testing at the Petaluma faciltiy before they anounced it's existance...such a killer piece!

  • i dont understand with an amp this loud , why your demo is such that you can still hear the pick noise(pick hitting the strings) with my amp on lowest settings i still cant hear the pick noise. its really annoying and makes the demo sound cheap. a better approach would be to record the audio of the amp with a nice mic and use THAT audio in the demo video. i mean its a sin to record such a nice amp with a camera mic and expect it to do the amp justice

  • quit fucking bitching

  • no. it bugs the hell out of me!!!

especially this guy - hes a good player, he should know better

  • wtf are you talking about? shuuut uup!!!

  • your the one who wrote a paragraph about how you can hear the picking noise, you shut the fuck up

  • thats right and it needed to be said, and ill say it again - the freakin pick noise makes the demo sound cheap and bloody annoying! so shut the fuck up.

  • Hi man!, your reviews are just great!!, i was wondering ( knowing that you like Mark V Over Nomad ) they are comparable heads??, i want to buy a Mesa and Nomad could be my money option, and the 3 channels are quite seductive too, what's oyur Informed opinion??...Cheers From Chile!!!

  • sure thing is that you love beef

  • what does the slave out do? is it like a recording out to connect to like a Line6 Pod for recording?

  • yes.

  • ok, and are u on hotmail right now?

  • send me an e-mail brother...I don't chat much. I'm working my ass off over here!!!

  • ok, what u working on over there?

  • My job man. I am pretty darn busy. Hit me up on e-mail. I will reply.

  • can you elaborate a little on it? i have a DR-103, it has a 0DB Slave out, can you explain what that does?

  • orto another input for another amp

  • that to, but I would use it for recording or connecting to a PA

  • That Jackson looks siqqqqqqqqqq.

  • Hey man, which do you think sounds the best, the Mesa Dual rec or the Mesa Mark V ?? And what kind of Gibson do you have?

  • None is better, just different. It would all depend on what you are looking for...

The V is more versatile though

  • Ohh ok, Thanks man!

  • If you are thinking about Rectifiers, then go for the Triple. It's only $100 more and if you get Mesa, then you want the best (where have I heard that before?) xD

  • What about the single? Is it good sounding?

  • single rec is 50 watt 2 channel amp with 1 rectifier tube, dual rec is 100 watt 3 channel amp with 2 rectifier tubes and triple rec is 120 watt 3 channel amp with 3 rectifier tubes

  • The Triple Rectifier is 150 watts

  • The preamps are very different, such as more gain and mid scoop added in the double and triple recs, and there is naturally more gain as a result of more power tubes being driven.

  • good stuff...looks like there a shit tone of tones...a tad thick on channel 3, but i won't jump to a conclusion without watching part 2.

    \m/

  • Hey Mizike,

I've got some questions, I wanna buy a Mesa Boogie Mark V but is there a Mark cabinet? I've searced on Mesa website and there the rectifier, roadking, stiletto cab amp but not the Mesa MArk V :S

Secondly, what's the best for me straight cab or the angled one?

And finally i also wanna buy a TC electronic G Major 2 but do i need stuff a power amp or other stuff for a rack or i could play without a rack only the tc and the amp?

  • Awesome review man! If I had the money I would buy this amp.

  • them bones solo in the begging?

  • YES! Damn man, I was going to save up for a Dual Rec solo head. Now you got me wanting the Mark V.

  • triode for iic+ sounds best ...

  • what kind of speaker cable is that?

i've always seen em and really wanted one like that

i'm just an aesthetic whore when it comes to gear

but quality needs to be up to par or better than the looks

  • Electrovoice speaker cable

  • You took all your gear to Japan?

  • what are you in japan for?

  • My job

  • are 6l6's supposed to glow red like that?

  • Yeah

  • Oh I think I need new tubes then.

  • great demo man, thx for somewhat explaining about the ext switching jacks, but could still use more info about how u have the channels connected to the GCX and GCP. also how u are bi-amping the rig and switching amps

  • later, I will explain it...again

  • thx man and sorry but some new thoughts came up on how i will set it up so I hope u'll be able to help me out wth it.

  • no worries man, I'm here 2 help

  • thats such a complicated amp, but i bet its worth it. sounds real good

  • it really ain't that complicated

  • hehe too complicated for me lol. but it sounds wicked

  • Nice review.

    Nice amp.

    Sexy guitar.

  • hows japan going?

  • Good so far, just enjoying my Saturday!!!

  • Hey man, thanks for taking time to do these awesome vids.

  • Mizike, glad to see that you're back! How long have you had that Jackson Randy Rhoads V?
