This theme brings back so many memories!Kimba is my favorite old cartoon character and always will be.I don't care if Lion King has better animation this show is from the 50s!People its old of course some movie made in the 90s is going to have better animation than one made in the 50s.If Kimba was never made Lion King would have never even been thought of.No matter how much people say Lion King is better you CAN'T beat Kimba,it's a classic.

When i was 5 I used to watch this show on TV, and we got a Tonkinese kitten and I named him Kimba so this show is very special to me...our Kimba was the best cat ever, and lived 19 years! thanks for posting this video!

I remember this show now all I could remember was a show with a white lion in it and I went on here to find it. Boy this show was great even if I was a teenager I loved any show that was japanese animted. I remember watching The Bushbaby as well.

This is a re-dub. A Canadian company bought the rights to Kimba in 1993. The scripts for this version are closer to the original Japanese one. This version is still on air in some places.

DID YOU KNOW that disneyTOTALLy ripped off kimba. They WERE gonna do Kimba instead of Simba. Simba was origionally white. And kimbas father died and appeared to him in the clouds. Kimbas father and him used to watch the land on a huge rock.

I think the best thing about the $1 DVD(other than the price) is that the back of the package gives credit to Kimba for inspiring much of the Lion King. Finally! BTW, I don't hate this version. I just wish it had the original voices, opening theme song & kept the sad scenes intact. That was the magic of this show. This is the "no more tears" version.

I agree with SharkBoat completely. I bought the dollar DVD at WalMart(Vol.1) and the picture is TERRIBLE. In the theme song( it's hard to see it on here) Kimba barely has an outline. And in the first episode on the DVD, Eliza was talking to Dan'l in a shady part of the jungle, and you could barely even see him! :P

I too recommend the Ultra Edition. :>

u wouldnt think it was so cute if u had to spend the weekend at my lil cousin Anna's house. i babysat her and she has a kimba dvd and thats all i heard for an entire day and most of night til we went to sleep. now i cringe when i hear the song as does the rest of my family she wont let u turn it off when shes watchin it thank God she has moved on to something eles now.

There is nothing wrong with this theme song IMO. Kimba had several even if this is not from 1966. The $1 Wal Mart DVD has poor picture quality, different voicing & ruins Snowene's famous night sky scene. It's still worth the $1. I have a copy too. But don't compare it to the Ultra Edition. It's not $1.

OMG, Obviously a very different style theme than whats found in the original Japanese version, which is better than the U.S. one. *LOL* Does anyone know where I can download the original japanese eps with english subs? The dvds here in the US dont have those features as they are sadly not geared to the common anime fan. *tear*

This isn't the original theme. It's a remake of the original Kimba theme you have the 1990 version I think.
