  • What is the final building at 3:16?

  • where'd you get the music from? It's cool. thumbs up!

  • Shitty how all of these formerly important buildings have been turned into stupid coffee shops and shitty curio stores.

  • whats the name of the music . please i really want to know

  • without flags... all seems so dead

  • good work interesting to see the change

  • a common misconception is that all the buildings were destroyed. actually no there are still many very original buildings and areas around germany untouched by ww2

  • It should be noted that most of the buildings shown precede the Nazi Era, or even the Wilhelmine Era for that matter.

  • its weird how everything, the buildings especially, looked so damn huge and epic on old photo's but dont look half as impressive today. maybe in the past everything else, the people, the cars, the street signs etc were simply much smaller lol i dunno

  • Toll. Gut, daß wenigstens noch etwas aus der guten, alten Zeit stehengeblieben ist. Danke für die Mühe dieser tollen Präsentation.

  • some arent ww2 buildings...

  • Alot of the buildings you are showing are not Third Reich Buildings ie. Brandenburg Tor, Neue Wache, Cathedral in Berlin. The most interesting Third Reich building for me is the Olympic Stadion in Berlin, that really was built by the Nazis and hardly any of the Nazi stuff survives, as the Russians blew it all up. However the British used the Olympic Stadium as its HQ after the war hence we didn't blow it up. Shames they beat us there at football these days, haha

  • They mostly look exactly the same today just without Nazis and swastikas. Idiots. You shouldn't speak about "glorious germany" unless you live here. Otherwise your arguments are invalid.

  • The saddest thing is seeing what Zeppelin Field looks like today. They have turned into a fucking parking lots with a soccer field in the background and have destroyed every bit of it outside of the podium where Hitler and the delegates stood/sat. It's an absolute embarrassment of epic proportions given the amazing architectural design and all the time Speer put into it.

  • 1930s Germany is one of the most beautiful countries in world history.

  • Lol that song + pictures make the Third Reich look like most powerful country!!!!!

  • If I could go back in time, I would go to the 1930's.. Back to the powerful Germany it was!

Al these modern buildings and plasma screens and mass media are infecting these beautiful building..

  • 3:14 Pink, really? *sigh*

  • Former glory.. today so much turks.. blacks and so on.. it makes me sick!!!

  • yes,the former glory of the great third reich........sad...

  • From 0:48 till 0:54 That German eagle is still there, cool!!!

  • One of the most fascinating videos I have found on the Internet. I find it intriguing seeking out before and after photos and videos. Don't ask my psychology behind this interest, maybe it is simply down to the fascination of the passage of time and its effects.

    Engrossing stuff!

  • Saying the music is from Medal of Honor doesn't IDENTIFY it. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHO WROTE IT?

  • @dtkane

Michael Giacchino worote this piece, like every soundtrack from medal of hnor 1-3.

A really great composer, his music absolutely fits into this game, not like Christopher Lennertz who made the soundtrack of MoH Rising Sun.

The Name of this Track is "The Battle of Monte Casino".

  • German bombed cities should have been called Retroville## numbered up in sequence....

I like the new Europe and the new relations, what I dislike is the permanent try to view history as the one way street how the winners are seeing it....forgetting the german deaths (they deserved what they got...a common comment here) looking just in disgust to germans at these times...history is much more complex...but its easier to hate a nation then trying to understand the circumstances of these times

  • @rvigil707 me to,

  • it would be better to play BACH man not something that sounds like STAR WARS when DARTH VADER invades , nice classical music would be better like Brandenburg Concerto, either way those were turbulent times when 3rd Reich occupied think of the innocent people who suffered for nothing??

  • Thank-you for these thought-provoking images.

  • thanks! i needed to find some pics of buildings for an art project related to wwii. i needed to paint a house from that time period and the pic at 1:05 helped me with the windows!

  • great job!---incredible effort I'm sure-must have taken a lot of time

-esp. liked that Hitler shot from his hotel/Leni's Triumph of the Will

  • third reich ruins dot c0m has some really neat photos of before and after the Reich.

    Interesting stuff.

  • Many buildings were destroyed, partly rebuilded but without all that ornaments, old pavements, the environment isn't the same anymore. Nürnberg or Frankfurt had huge medieval old towns - everything irretrievable destroyed. In Frankfurt only survived one old building. Cologne the same. This structures were replaced by pale and plain fast errected functional buildings in the 50th, it's a pitty. Munich also lost big parts, but there is still a imagination because the reconstructed a lot.

  • very good.. i did the third reich tour a few years ago.. whn i was i nuremberg i was kinda disapointed.. it felt so small.. strangely.. I felt kinda cheated.. m.

  • Its weird seeing these pictures, and if you pause and slowly merge them it looks even more wired. AWESOME video

  • @rvigil707 dick

  • the old building looked better

  • Heil Hitler!

  • srry to say this but i expected a video of nazi made important building which still stand today....

  • ww2 buildings? Those buildings stood already in ww1.

    wtf?

  • It's funny, Speer's big contribution to architecture was "ruin value" - that is, a building should still look great after its civilization collapses.

    Pretty fucking ironic, huh?

  • i can still see and feel the Fuehrer in my mind there.

  • great buildings indeed.

  • great!!...

  • sehr interessantes Video.

  • I agree with your comment..I was in Berlin yesterday........Beautiful city....Great history...and when you think what happened where you stood......unbeleivable.........nice video

  • Do you notice that all the buildings use to look so much better, than the Shit of Today!

    Hitler was right!

  • fasinating video...war is so futile, and mostly its the civilians who suffer the most. but it was interesting to see the before and after pictures

  • You know who was really upset when the Nazis fell? The flag makers - the Nazis really loved their flags.

  • They were pretty fucking cool looking...

  • @fza01 Ye, agree, I also love their flag(I'm Croatian). My best part is form 0:54 to 0:58

  • @fza01 I love their flags also, and I'm not a Nazi. Unlike stars and other commonly used shapes, the Swastika as it appeared on the Nazi flag was very particular to the Third Reich. There wasn't any other emblem before or after which was presented that way in such a stark contrast, and so it stood out, and still stands out, as very appealing imagery.

  • @JoshuaH688 Lmao! Atleast someone else has the same opinion I do. I find Nazi Germany's flag to be the best, visually! However, I do NOT approve of the idealism behind it. It's still pretty. ahaha.

  • That's koo.

  • The left wing "brigade" would, I am sure like to see these monuments raised to the ground. The Berghof site and surrounding complex have all but been obliterated.Including the magnificent Platterhof Hotel, which had been restored!!!

  • luckely for hitler, his dreams about a european superstate is soon real

  • I agree with Jaggie30601. This is a nice montage, but it begs; screams for captions. I'll bet few viewers would be familiar with what they're seeing. The Brandenburg Gate, maybe, but most of the rest would engender cluelessness.

  • you forgott the "steintribüne" in nuremberg.

looks pretty fucked up today. :(

    that was a nice building.

  • Captions telling us what there are would be nice, but I like the effort!

  • very very interesting!!! thanks for upoading! 5*

  • when did You land in Germany 1945 or 1946 or in this millenium ? Can You think just about dead innocent when thinking about Germany ? well then You are easy to manipulate to seek for vengeance which leads to more killing and that will lead to another genocide which causes vengeance and so it goes on...I say stop that...world should improve

  • where is the 1:42 building and how does it call?

  • amazing....id love to see most of these sites....while holding old photo's at the same time....i think goosebumps would be in order. Well done video!

  • Hey i was thinking that same thing holding old photos while looking at those sites

  • Deustche Bauwerkskunst hält Jahrhunderte.

  • Amazing to see so many still standing

1:40 looks kinda like the White House. Hmm... lol

  • 1.08 beautiful picture.

  • fucking great!!! WELL DONE!!!

  • thx thats impressive... just think about. when you stand on one of these places you can think that you stand on the same floor ist Adolf hitler once. he stood there too, years ago. just impressive

  • Great music, i love medal of honour

  • i love the music, its from Medal of Honor game.

  • Your videos are just so epic :D

  • A.Hitler was in my country>Lithuania,in Klaipeda !about in 1939

  • Amazing video... Thank you for posting it. It's great to look at the historic buildings of the Third Reich then and now...

  • An outstanding video from probably the best then/now format website there is.

  • Please tell me the song, I know its from the original medal of honor games....

  • A majority of the buidlings of today, look like trash compared to the 1930s and 40s. They kept it clean, unlike today.

  • yeah i guess but i really would have wished tthat the reichs chancellery stayed up cuz it was a really amazing building to look at and the great architechture

  • I wouldn't say that. I have been there. Germany is an extremely clean country. It makes most of the U.S. look nasty.

  • Early times they lookd more WOOOW today they sometimes look like nothing What they did with such great buildings they destroyd a spirit from buildings. Greetings from Germany And the music is ^^ great in one medal of honour song they put in a bit of the HorstWessel lied ^^

  • Thanks <3

  • @Patriot148818

I think it's a shame that your fellow countrymen are so ashamed of your past. Why don't doesn't Germany celebrate this time period and tell the rest of those that don't like it to fuck off? Lenin is responsible for hundreds of thousands of murders and his mausoleum is still protected night and day in Russia. There are Stalin memorials in Russia and he's responsible for more murders than Hitler. Why doesn't Germany tell the rest of the world to fuck off?

  • @HokiesAndDawgs Ye we know, but when Allies won many "fake stories" about Hitler were rounding the world, and everyone forgot about all other crimes... Britosh in Africa, Black Ppl in America... Stalin, Lenin... Everyone forgot about them, and Hitler is to be blamed for everything. For me, Hitler is one of Juilius Ceasar, Napoelon and those ppl. And what is best, Germany ereased all those eagles and those things form their country. I think Germans should understannd Germans is fail after TR.

  • @HokiesAndDawgs: "Why don't doesn't Germany celebrate this time period and tell the rest of those that don't like it to fuck off?"

Because to celebrate the Third Reich and tell the truth about it is illegal in today's "democratic" Germany, and you will get arrested, fined, and imprisoned. This has happened hundreds of times to individuals in Germany who dared to question the "official" version of World War II and the Hollowcaust.

  • I ve been to the place in 1:58 its Nuernberg

  • could you please tell what the name of the music ?

  • The music is on a game but can't think which one lol

    ???

  • metal of honor frontline

  • at 1.38 were is that picture made In berlin (were in berlin?) or .... ?

  • Great video which showing the great monuments of the german history!!!! I love it

  • the best one was on 54 seconds, they still managed to keep an eagle above the door!lol.

  • @jamierourketen

actually, here in germany, there are many many buildings that still got an eagle somewhere. you can see them often if you look close enough. the swastikas in the circle below the eagle are missing though ^^

  • @weldorn the eagle often is there as it is the national symbol of germany and also has been long before the nazis. imperial buildings also often have it.

  • All I can say is they now look dull and boring unlike there former glory

  • agreed

  • @ash104 I think those buildings look better with Nazi flags and banners.

  • @ash104 its the stupid street signs, fences, stop lights and ugly ass cars that made me want to vomit...

  • great video...do u have pictures of austrian places too?

  • amazing thanks for this

  • What about the Arc De Triumph?

  • its cool to see not much has changed in over 60 years

  • In my humble opinion two thirds of the buildings had nothing to do with the Nazis - except, Hitlers Merry Men hung their flags onto the facades. Yes, Hitler and the Nazis used these buildings, and so did the Weimar Republic before and so did two german nations afterwards. If you would tear down everything, that was instrumentalized by hitler, about 80 per cent of Germany´s historical buildings would lie in ruins.

    Nice video, anyway...

  • what is this song?

  • the music is from the video game 'medal of honor: underground' released for playstation back in 2000 for sony playstation

  • i wonder how many of these are alber speers?

  • that is an excellent video...

good comparision... I was just looking for something like that... can you add more pictures? would be nice to see

  • very sad video indeed. so beautiful from the hitler era and so forgotten and dull looking now.

  • They would all look so much better with Reich flags flying from them- ah for the good old days!

  • Amazing! Some places look like the same. And the angles chosen to make the similarities are perfect.

  • VERY NICE !!

  • Pavlovs house is missing

  • How did you get off those "thirdreichruns" texts off those pictures?

  • This is so sweet! Nice job

  • Very nicely put together "then and now" montage. Backing music well chosen as well. If you have eyes, there is loads of evidence of this period still in Germany. Practically everyday in work I pass buildings that other folk don't give two hoots about. Difference between "seeing" and "perceiving" perhaps. Well done

  • Whats that music name is?

    great video!

  • WOW amazing video, kind of mystical...thx for this great vid!

  • heute sind die Plätze leer

  • An impressive bit of research by someone. Looking ast the buildings today, you wouldn't think they had any other story to tell.

  • You took this right of 'thirdreichruins' website

  • Yes I did and I sourced it :).

  • Ha ha sucker!

  • there were not build by nazi ..but by the german people ...what are u waiting foe??U want this pieces of history destoyed??...

  • No one said they were build by the nazi's. How about you read a bit before commenting .

  • most oft those buildings have been built long before hitler rose to power (e.g. Brandenburger tor, semperoper) nice video though

  • Yep but they were still used in the third reich era, and they were really regocnized in the third reich era :

  • nice video. Can hardly believe those nice places with those lovely people are THE SAME evil foaming-at-the-mouth Nurenburg rallying Germans.

  • buildings, guns, media like magazines or video, often it is not the device that is evil, it is the people who use them and how they are used that make them evil. I know that some places like concentration camps entire purpose was evil, but like the other comments said, these were not built for the nazis, they were taken over and used by the nazis. Change is the only constant.

  • whats the name of this song?

  • as far as i can hear it is a song from a medal of honor game, dunno which one... i can hear it because the trumpet melody at 1:40 is in every medal of honor game...

  • Very intresting, thanks for uploading.

    Ta

  • Good work! Video Guy!

  • Excellent. your vid's are top ten and well worth watching (there very good)

  • Tanks for those nice picture. The third reich is rebulding it self and we are sone strongger than we was in the past:)great

  • Is there any signs of third reich in berlin, exept museums?

  • no, maybe some swastikas, but if so then such small or hidden that you don`t recognize. I guess the best chances to see swastikas are in wall of buildings

  • only ruins of the past

  • Nice Video. But most of builings are not of the third Reich. They are historical. Much older than 60 years.

  • But they were of the time of the third reich, thus being them :)

  • Third Reich in Ruins...one of the best sites on the web.

Speer's lamp-posts are timeless. Music is kind of dark, but very nice little show.

  • I wanted to go with the dark theme :)

  • You did a great job! Every detail the buildings from past to present...and the music hants me. What music is that?

  • Nice work! I had to rewind at some parts lol

    ~ arko

  • Super video. I have been to visit alot of the places you show. Pity you didnt capture the Berlin bunker when the wall came down. I stood on top of it days before it was levelled and built on. Amazing.

  • love it mate, really shows your skill on ya champ!

  • Fantastic video! Very interesting! 5/5

  • who took the pics of the buildings today

  • awesome mate

  • very nice video dude.

i noticed how some of these places look very similar to what they looked like 60 years ago and some which are completely different.

btw...you might wanna study some of estonia's WWII history...you might be amazed ;)

  • That's really cool!

    What music is that?

  • What a great comparision. The difference is night and day between what they looked like back then and how they look now. I noticed most the fences and the statues gone. I wonder if the statues were all destroyed or just moved. This was excellent.

  • i guess, most were destroyed, maybe some were just moved

  • Sadly once destroyed they will never be replaced.

  • that`s what they wanted

  • Thanks, I have more of this type of video coming up if you guys can get the views to high

  • Awsome video, could of been cooler if you did other countrys like France, Poland, and Russia

  • creepy, nice vid dude
