  • NEVER IMAGINED that one???!!!

  • so if those guns were regestered to him would he still been arrested?

  • he did say he was going to shoot the guy. He threatened the other player saying he would shoot him in the face.

  • 2nd Ammendment to the Constitution, gives us the right to bear arms. Any laws ammending that are Unconstitutional.

When they take our guns away, only the criminals will have them.

Hitler took the guns away in Germany, and the SS started hauling off, everyone that opposed them. They thought they were just going to go to jail and get out after a few days.

Arenas will be made an example of. Maybe 3 years in jail.

  • I dont know where you work but I dont know anyone who can take their weapon to work and not get arrested and or fired. Unless you work at a gun range you dont take your guns to work. It was idiotic and he will pay a hefty price for his stupidity.

  • i agree with him thats bull shit am a GA ... but at least let him mis like 25 games for his mistake

  • Oh man, this really is overblown. Arenas brought some excitement to our team here, and he's always been someone who flaunts the rules and doesn't treat anything seriously. I always liked that about him, but its obviously gotten him into a lot of trouble here.

  • Yep its all fun and games until the gun that Crittenden loaded and cocked goes off or there is a bullet in the chamber of one of the 4 guns Gilbert brought it. How is it exciting to know that basketball players who make mad money are threatening to shoot each other in a different body parts?

  • Why would you assume that the guns being pulled on each other is the excitment I'm referring to?

  • your post" Oh man, this really is overblown. Arenas brought some excitement to our team here, and he's always been someone who flaunts the rules and doesn't treat anything seriously". It gives the implication your excitement was connected to his actions. If that was not your intention please clarify. What do you mean about the incident being overblown? How do you think the situation should have been handled?

  • Well, the excitement I was referring to was the first playoff series victory for the Wizards (I live in DC) in like 20 years. As for the handling of the situation; I'm not sure. I'd have to think more about it.

  • He's a fucking criminal. You said felony charge? Done. Void contract, ban from the game, send to jail, do not pass go.

  • Give him a year suspension. The Wizards screwed themselves by signing Arenas to the big contract, given he has had injury problems. Wizards need to rebuild and dump almost the entire team. You'd think Butler, Jamison, Arenas would be a good combo but they had their chance like the Pistons - 6 years, 1 title which did not make sense. Anyway, rebuild around Arenas since you are stuck with him.

  • A FELONY VOIDS A CONTRACT!!!! PERIOD.

  • I hear you but the CBA disagrees with you so there's the loophole that will allow him to keep most if not all of his money because they will probably buy him out or they will simply treat him like the Knicks treated Stephon and let him get paid to sit.

  • is Ben sure the logo wasn't a bullet? I grew up in Southern Maryland and seemed to remember a bullet w/ a smile on its face as the logo. I could be wrong. All I remember about the team is that a teacher in my elem. school was a retired player , Mr. Washington. And that my dad had a man crush on him.

  • OBAMA is talking in his church of fox and he is BASCIALLY ADMITTING THAT HEALTH CARE IS FOR HIS PEOPLE ! PATHETIC ! MAKE THE COUNTRY PAY FOR THE LAZY !

  • @WhiteIGNITERS...you sir..are a turd

  • "His people"? Wtf.. He aint moses, buddy..

And from what Ive heard.. You´re trying to change the health care what its like in the country I come from, Finland. Here it works perfectly. But yeah, different. Anyways.. There is no "Obamas people" So gtfo.

  • Not everyone without health care is lazy, some jobs dont offer it and there are some people who are disabled or elderly so they are limited to what they can afford if they are offered care at all. Oh and last i checked he is biracial therefore his people are white and black. So your right the plan is for his people.

  • When did the pervy band teacher start hosting TYT??

  • great analysis

  • WOW, I actually Agree with Ben for once....Hes so right about Stern...David Stern got But hurt from the picture and the comments Arenas made so he decided the only way he can get back is if he suspended him INDEFINITLY...that is reallly stupid...Give him his 30 games like ben said and move on...Just becuz u got but hurt doesnt mean u can suspend him becuz of that...Im a constitutionalist, follow the word of the document...Stern has not done that here...

  • I don't wanna say this but 60%+ of whites call us NIGGERS because some people with tremendous talent act like this. Gilbert Arenas. Mother is a drug addict who left the family. Rare. Usually the man leaves the black family. No reason for a decorated award winning NBA star to be playing with guns.

  • wow dude gilbert arenas seems like such a mature dude too in his nba interviews, wow what a dumbass, this makes me curious about shane battier too now lol.

  • This Gilbert dude isn't smart at all. Obviously you don't just bring your gun to the locker room of an NBA. Smart people wait till Barrack Obama does a Presidential speech. Then it's all good to bring your gun. Stupid of him.

  • @DTMTroy Almost as stupid as your comment. It should never be acceptable to bring a gun to a presidential speech, republican or democrat. Grow up.

  • One is reminded that when the German fighter ace Hartmann was summoned to Berlin to be awarded the Knights Cross with Diamonds and told to surrender his sidearm, his response was to decline and to state that he would refuse the award if he were not trusted to carry his pistol. One is also reminded that not so long ago, the British head of state was required to appear without his protections detail in front of armed troops to prove the point.

  • Appearing in front of trained soldiers or other officials of the court =/= appearing in front of people who bring signs that read "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants". If you can't see the difference, I'm sorry, but I'm not surprised.

  • A government that doesn't trust its citizens with guns is not to be trusted with power.

  • @franksnow79 That's quite a leap to go from a presidential rally to inferring the government is going to take away peoples' guns. Nobody said anything about the government stepping on the second amendment, you just made that up.

This is a specific issue addressing weapons at presidential rallies - ESPECIALLY since it's the first black president and doubly worrisome because of the rhetoric and hysteria that is sweeping the uninformed.

Racism is not dead in this country, as much as that sucks.

  • A citizen who argues with cliches is not to be trusted with an opinion.

  • @TruthNotReligion I was being a smart ass. Talking about the people that brought guns to the Obama Rallies. It's ok to do it infront of the leader of your country but not at the NBA. Guns shouldn't be allowed in public period, unless you're permitted through your work force. AKA police, army, so fourth.

  • My mistake.

  • P.S. I agree with you on guns in public.

  • @TruthNotReligion thank you. I think people should have the rights to own guns in there homes but they should have to take a psychiatrict test to do so. Too many stupid people out there lol.

  • That also would be a violations of the 2cd amendment. Not to mention that psychology/psychiatry is junk science on the order of voodoo and witch doctory.

  • You are indeed talking about infringing on the right to bear arms when you say they should not be allowed in public. If anything, everyone should be required to own a weapon and be allowed to carry it if they desire. Those who do not should be required to wear a hat or armband or some other badge that attests to their inablitiy or unwillingness to live up to their responsibility as a citizen.

  • @franksnow79 You're right dude. Everyone thinks in the same wave length as you. You should be allowed. I should be allowed. That woman that fears rape should be allowed to carry a fire arm. That kid that gets picked on in school should be allowed. That guy that took 3 hits of acid and see you walking towards him only he sees Freddy Krueger and it scares the shit out of him should be allowed. The ex con that just got out of jailon a technicality on manslaughter should be allowed. Great idea.

  • I am well aware that there is a great deal of debate on the issue, but the moral objections of one should never be allowed to infringe the liberty of another. More specifically; yes I should be allowed, yes you should be allowed, most definately the woman who fears rape should be allowed as time and again it is shown that where citizens are armed crime goes down. The kid that gets picked on should be taught to fight back, armed and unarmed; and allowed to do so. Theother twowillget 'selveskilled

  • I don't get the race talk. Seems just like fools trolling for arguments.

Arenas is a danger to other players. That's not debatable. His actions provoked his teammate to draw a LOADED weapon in ANGER around OTHERS.

Commentator is an idiot. He Stern slapped him for the finger pointing because that wouldn't prejudice his efforts to REALLY go after Arenas for the pistol display.

  • LMFAOO what a bunch of idiots

  • I agree.

and what really bugs me is if one carries a gun he goes to prison for a year.... but with Vick going to jail for 2 years due to the dog fight charges....that doesn't make any bit of sense. No one got hurt or killed, so why even bother sending them to prison?

  • Hey, Arenas is a millionaire basketball star - let him go!

But... he's dark skinned. Throw the book at him!

  • I'm all for gun rights, but everyone knows not to bring a firearm into the workplace, especially when your workplace is already heavily secured by both private and public security, so there is no excuse of fearing for his safety at work. I think paying anyone 80 million is fucking ridiculous, but if that's his contract they have to honor that unless there is specific conditions in his contract pertaining to this incident.

  • I wouldn't work in a place where they don't allow you to defend yourself. One of my first questions during the interview process should be about the matter.

  • I actually have the same feelings as you on that issue. I carry my micro Glock with me everywhere, even to work and college, but I know if I were to be found out I'd be fired and kicked out because it's illegal for me under company, state and federal laws to do this. I don't know ONE company that allows employees to carry firearms in the workplace, so I imagine you must be unemployed and looking, and I hate to say this but if your first question in an interview is that you're not gonna find work

  • Not the first question I used to ask on interviews, but inquiring about the arms policy was towards the top of the list. These days I work for myself, hiring out my services as a metals buyer. When I was done soldiering though, it was usually easy enough to get around by calling be a sub-contrated worker rather than an employee. Most employers would rather have one as an associate or contracted worker than an employee, it saves them admin expenses. Also, when I was done troopin' and looking<cont

  • ;cont; for work, it wasn't anything I thought about. After several instances, both on interview and probationary offers, of being harrased, insulted, threatened, physically attacked, having personal items destroyed, and my vehicle damaged; all because I didn't seem to fit into the group, team, culture, it became a concern. When I take a job, I do it very well; but all the employer gets to do is pay me, not try to indoctrinate me into groupthink. See also, Barbara Ehrenreich on positive thinking.

  • Void his fucking contract now, suspend him from the whole league as of now. It's not a joke when a player is carrying guns around thinking himself Dirty Harry, it is a sign of mental instability. If I was David Stern, that guy would never play basketball again. What kind of message are you sending if you let him go.

  • ... too bad a felony charge is not enough to void a contract in the NBA.

  • Gilbert Arenas is a complete fucking tool.

    end of story.

  • I can hear Ana talking in the background

  • @FirebirdCamaro1220 : I'll second that

  • It is crazy to void his contract.

They knew what they were getting when they signed him, its not like they didnt know about his crazy ass antics.

This is a conspiracy for him to get out of his contract with the Wizards being happy to do it. Then he will sign with an already stacked team... like I dont know...

    the Lakers.

Who have been in the market for a dominate PG for a while now.

Is it just a coincidence that the "beef" was with a former Lakers player who will get more playing time now?

  • NBA, NFL >> Thugs & hoodlums with money.

  • yea, peyton mannings a thug right?

  • What I got from this story, as if we didn't know already, is that pro-athletes are fucking children man. They shouldn't be let outside without adult supervision.

  • David Stern is a dictator. You get the sense that he's not suspending Arenas because bringing guns to an arena is bad, but because he's trying to 1-up the NFL essentially saying; "I can punish my players better than you can punish yours."

  • I still have no idea whystory got so big and Marvin Harrison's story, in which a man who accused him of actually shooting at him was murdered in cold blood days later, has scarcely been talked about.

  • Unregistered un licsence guns are for killing so that u cant trace the gun.

$100 Gilbert will not play in the NBA this year

  • employe. their rules.

  • You are probably right.

He will be suspended for a bunch of games, and he will have to do "community service", what ever that means.

He will probably talk to a couple of DC high school assemblies, and will reiterate how really, really sorry he is.

    He will ask for forgiveness.

    And,

everybody will give it to him, because

    he can shoot the basketball.

    Having said that,

his "punishment" should be suspension for the balance of the season, without pay.

  • Guns are a serious matter. I would not take it lightly. I support a suspension for the rest of the season. I also like the idea of changing the team name to a nonviolent one.

  • Comment removed

  • and ben is WRONG on why abe changed the name. he actually changed the name from the bullets to the wiz because his Best Friend was shot and killed in a drive by shooting. now ben's reason may be valid to some point. but the central reason to the name change was that abe's best friend was shot and killed in a drive by shooting. just for clarification.

  • if Ron Artest brings an unloaded gun into an arena and asks jordan farmar to pick one and duel he is Banned from the NBA and is put in jail for 5 years. the law is the law. it doesn't matter what kind of perception people have about the people afflicted by these laws. the laws are there to hold everyone accountable. Athletes and celebs have gotten off easy before. but we are seeing through the vick, burress, jayson williams situations that athletes are being treated like the norm.

  • the government breaks laws everyday whats your point

  • Where's the Cenkster?

  • who?

  • The NBA is run by a bunch of hoplophobes. The Wizards should change their name back to the Bullets, and the Houston Astros should change their name back to the Colt .45's. Personal arms are a sign of a civilized nation, and their use should be taught in the schools, just like Teddy Roosevelt thought. As per the "well regulated militia part of the 2cd amendment, one should be required to know how to use an M-16 to achieve full citizenship.

  • @franksnow79

Yeah but the founding fathers didn't picture the guns in the hands of "NBA Players" If ya know what i mean.

  • @cory72187

No we don't know what you mean by that. What exactly do you mean? Please, tell us.

  • @bigbadosker

    Ya know. tall people.

    Why? What were you thinking?

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    Ya racist sumofabitch!!!!!

  • I'm racist? You stupid fuck. I'm calling him out on saying that you turd. If youre going to be a racist bigot motherfucker at least have the balls to say what you mean at least over the fucking internet. DUMB FUCK

  • @bigbadosker

    what?

    tall people?

  • @ bigbadosker

You know exactly what he means lol c-mon dont play the dumb game.

  • @franksnow79

People like you are scary. Die soon please

  • @frankshow79

    Hahahahaha.

    Oh man you're funny.

  • "Personal arms are a sign of a civilized nation..."

WHAAAAT? That's a joke, yes? A sign of a militaristic nation, you mean. A violent, xenophobic, insecure frightened nation.

  • 100% agree, 0% disagree.

  • On the contrary, the past hundred years of so of post-modernism cleary show many things about the western world which have clearly degenerated. Persnonal conduct which is disgustingly at odd with what had been is not only accepted, but advocated by a surprising number of people. Hardly a fair trade for virtue and honourable conduct. Where the citizen is armed crime goes down, nor is safety good argument for life by nature is unsafe. Envy is at the root of guncontrol, those who cannot cope envy

  • The problem with this (and I am for gun ownership) is that blacks, homosexuals and other minorities may find the idea that it was more "honorable" before somewhat untrue. It might have been for a few white men, but not for the major part of the population.

In my country, we have it far better now then before, at any time, if you cross the entire population and find a medium of "honor". I see little honor in owning slaves or hunting for gays.

  • because you boring :)

  • If you're suggesting that I advocate slavery or segregation, you're putting words in my mouth. Progress has been made, we've put men on the moon and landed robots on Mars. But I stand by my assertion that civility was at a higher level a hundred years ago, across all classes and ethnicities.

  • Envy is the root of gun control? Please explain this theory as I have always thought fear was that root.

  • The picture that the would be gun controllers have of gun owners is one of insecurity and cowering in fear with a bunker mentality. This could not be further from the truth, as they are confident with their ability to handle firearms safely. This ability to cope with what the banners see as so unsafe it must be outlawed is what causes the jealousy. Example, the people who can cope are the ones that took the US to the Pacific. If left up to the gun control crowd, the US would still be 13 states.

  • thats some scary shit your talking there. i agree with the first part about the teams changing there names back. but all citizens should know how to use an m16. your country would have even more serious gun issues than it does today. if you want to learn that, you can join the army. but making everyone know it is just asking for trouble.

  • The "well-regulated militia" part of the second amendment, as well as many references in the Federalist papers indicate that the notion was that all able bodied men, and by modern extension all able bodied people, were considered to be potential call-ups in the event of military need. By the same token, they would be expected to know how to operate a musket, rifle, or even ray gun, as the case may be, in the case of some dire need. Until the post-modern era, boys were taught to shoot by someone.

  • Why in the fuck do some black players have to carry guns? This is basketball. Not the hood. Grow up. No wonder people think you are primitive. Not all black people are like this. I know this true. However, You are setting a bad example for the good black people.

  • bigot

  • @paperboy215 Who paperboy?

  • why do people need to carry guns at ALL?

  • @dangerouslytalented Well I accept their rights. However why show the violence. I am white and we look at this as child like. I would be concerned as to who they want to use them against?

  • y bring race into this?

  • What race are black people you scum? There is only one race and that is the human race. Tell me which white people have been busted carrying guns?

  • Dude calm down. What's your problem? All i asked your immature ass was why bring skin color into this? Are you saying no whites have ever been busted carrying a gun? REALLY????

  • No you said race. I am talking about sports. Sorry I did not point this out. I get a litlle wired when guys like Plaxico Burris shoots themselves in the leg and does not explain why they need the gun in the first place. Of course white people get busted for carrying guns. We are the most violent people on earth.

  • @LifeIsGood63

It has nothing to do with the color of their skins.

Its the amount of filthy ghetto there is in their mentality.

Think Chris Brown, Michael Vick, ghetto trash.

NOT to be confused with race.

  • i cant belive youd say something like that.

alot of americans own guns, and carrying one dosent mean you think your in the 'hood'.

the real question is why the fuck does anyone carry a gun? i cant see a need to carry unless you need to shoot someone, and if you need to shoot someone, thats pretty fucked up.

and lots of white people have been busted carrying guns. its just theyre not famous and so dont get the same attention.

  • Arenas one of my favorite players, I hope he gets outta Washington and eventually goes to like the Raptors, him and Bosh would dominate

  • The Wizards need to void the remainder of Gilbert's contract so we can move on. He is an idiot but he didnt get to this point over night this is an example of what happens when you allow people to do whatever they want and there are no guidelines in place to keep the peace and keep people on task. Gilbert needs to go elsewhere, keep his head down and play ball which is why he got that huge contract in the first place.

  • Is it just me? Or is this guy annoying?

  • @Lukachicago19 - That's why I usually have little respect for white conservative gun nut types. As soon as it comes to black people owning guns, even legally, they suddenly become the most pro-gun control people in the world.

Rednecks who have openly expressed desire for Pres. Obama to die can carry guns to his speeches but a black man has a legal gun and he goes to jail.

  • Except there was a black wierdo with a machine gun at a speech.

  • I guess the Wizards missed their old nickname, the Washington Bullets.

  • tyt fuck you

  • That guy with the dreds looks cute without his glasses

  • Comment removed

  • gil so stupid

  • I don't know what the hell is wrong with these athlets today. If I was a baller there would be no way in hell I would fuck up my shit stupid ass dudes.

  • i wonder what would happen to me if as a fan i brought a a gun to a game and was caught with it.

  • It depends how much money you are making the organization. It depends how much you affect advertisers. It depends on how much your presence being at the game affects how many people come to the game.

Answers those questions and you will find your answer.

  • you have a bad combination

not many facts, yet alot of talk

    lacking knowlege, but excess opinion

  • it has NOT been proven

    correlation is not causation

  • i don't think you understand the concept of a guilty plea. my understanding, and i'm not a lawyer, but when people plea guilty, there is no need for a trial, or for things to be proven, because the guilty plea = the person admitting to having committed the offense they've been charged with. No need for the court proceedings to prove and decide if the defendant committed the crime, because guilty plea = "yes, i did the crime. i accept the consequences. no need to waste your time, i'm guilty."

  • yes, i understand all of that. i dont you got my comments and how they were all responces to Ludachicago19.

you are right btw, except they still need to negotiate/decide the sentence still

    my dad's a lawyer and a part time judge, so i think i got it : )

  • @Lukachicago19

he wasn't really in a state.

and this is what happens in liberal places, they have harsh gun laws.

    i really don't mind cause i don't carry guns.

  • @Lukachicago19

also, the race really has nothing to do with it.

  • I don't know if race is a factor but I kind of suspect it might be. When's the last time you heard of a white athlete going to jail for having a legally owned gun in the locker room?

  • How many white athletes do you know in America,

in basketball in football most of the players are black

  • ya but in the NHL they all white guys

  • well white dudes dont really carry guns around

hopefully agent zero gets off light un like plaxico

  • "white dudes dont really carry guns around"

Thanks for stereotyping both white and black people.

  • ya cuz white folk r to pussy to fggot

  • @Lukachicago19

hes not in Texas hes in Washington d.c in my opinion a very liberal place. The thing is like most liberal places in America gun laws are tough.

good or bad its how it is.

  • its because cities have more people crammed in a tighter space, hence more problems, hence more need for gun control

and you did play the race card by saying a black man gets arrested

you should have said why do big city residents get punished more, not blacks

  • Arenas was my fing #1 pick in the fantasy draft... I had the 8th pick. Good thing I also picked up Carmelo.

  • you are such an idiot

you have to register your gun you dumbass.

and he wouldnt go to jail had he not been a repeat offender, you dumbass

and redneck's still have to register their gun you dumbass

so quit playing the race card you dumbass

  • in TX we don't have to register our weapons. and unlawful carry is a misdemeanor. plaxico would have gotten probation.

  • who are you talking about? Arenas?

  • why

  • Dude taking this way too lightly IMO.

  • I hear ya but in wash dc, the gun laws are a lot tougher than in other parts of the country. At least he isnt getting plaxico treatment though.

  • yea for poo quality

  • The quality appears to be terrible in the video. Perhaps it is because the video has just been uploaded, but it is really pixelly.

  • yeah it doesnt have the HQ option yet, so its still processing.

  • thank you for not writing "FIRST COMMENT HELL YA!!" or some lame bullshit like that! Its refreshing to know there are still people who are the first to comment on a video and NOT write that shit

  • Takes a while for YouTube to process it.
