  • its so much harder then it looks im tensing my muscles when im moving and then im not tensing when i stop is this right or do i tense when i stop and tense when move cos people say dimestoping is that just stopping or do u need to tense when u stop

  • @maders03 To me its either or. Tensing your muscles just gives you the illusion. You can be completely relaxed and tense or you can just stay tensed to a dime stop. Its just the effect you want to give is that anamatronics movement.

  • Wigg's technique is SOOOOOOO tight he actually looks like a ROBOT trying to imitate a HUMAN! LOL! once he goes into animatronix mode, he just totally takes on that persona, and has such total body control that he seamlessly goes in and outta character. I KNOW it takes practice to get good at this, but honestly, I think some folk, like Wiggs were just "born" to do this better.

  • Great thing bout WIggs is first that he's from NOO YAWK.. heh... 2nd is that the dude never repeats a move! or at least is able to mask it so you couldn't learn it easily. Since he aint battlin anymore very generous of him to pass on this knowledge ... I know he aint givin it ALL away but the parts that he is, is pure gold.

  • @KaijaStyle and 2buck4dH8rz.... its tense your muscles at the beggining of the movement, then release it/relax your muscles while moving, and then at the end of the movement that's when you tense your muscles again

  • legs r a big role to this style it helps you rotate your upper body by pushing your legs against the ground. sometimes you can even adjust your stance while your do animitonics. but hey i my be a beginer but i still have years to practice

    look at the animation clip i use a front knee BOP

    i teach the front knee BOP in MENU 6 DVD. but it is very effective for Bottin, Animation, and Animatronix

  • you have to keep whatever part of the body that you're moving somewhat tense while moving it... this helps maintain the controlled pace of the movement that makes it look robotic...then top it off with a quick/intense tensing of the muscle (dimestopping)...i don't know how to explain it any clearer than that... you just have to practice it and get a feel to really understand it...

  • No - if your muscles are always tightened you wont be able to see the difference when you hit.

    A more visually dramatic effect is delivered by keeping your frame rigid when you move, but the muscles are relaxed until the moment you hit [at which point they tense/flex momentarily and then relax again as movement continues].

  • This is the real how one of its styles is done, Hip hop drew from many differant styles of dance, I hope you are refering to the old jazz dance, like you would see in the 20's on and not the stuff you see studios call jazz dance, it has nothing to do with hip hop it dont move the same, it dont dress the same and the style is more theatrical, it is a joke for studio hip hop to try to pass off jazz dance as hip hop, this is street dance at its core.

  • Think of it as if you just got scared and came to a sudden stop.

  • You know how you normally move and pop? Or move then pop? And how your tensed when dimestopping? It's basically when you move, your arms must be tensed/flexed. Then after you moved, you would hit/pop like you would if you were popping normally. Just keep practicing you'll get it over time.

  • hit every part at the same time. its only your upper body in this video he wasnt showing knee hits. your hitting should be control by either your right arm or left. so both. dont focus so much on your chest and shoulders, they come naturally.

    listen to a slow beated song or something and just around. stop everything at the beat or every other beat.

  • It just takes practice and control. Try R&B and real slow music. You have to practice being relaxed and being able to stop clearly and perfectly. Pick an imaginary path/point and stare at it. Reach out to touch it and stop on it !

    After you get that down, you add a pop to the end of the dime stop.

  • a good trick is to pop your knee at the same time. it helps.
