These animals are so amazing, but I feel sorry for them, because they have the burden of having to constantly find food or else they starve to death. We can go a few hours without food, but hummingbirds can't. It's because of their fast metabolism, but this is nature's way.

@homembomressurge - That bit immediately below their beak is called a chin, and below that is their throat (I'm not mocking you, who would think a bird had a chin!) Some people call the area including the chin, throat and cheeks (technically the cheeks are called ear coverts) of a bird a 'bib'. I think this term comes from the bibs we tie around babies necks to catch spilled food, which is still a bit odd, we don't tie bibs over babies chins and ears, though it may be less messy if we did...

Hummers are too cool. Move your feeder about a foot in either direction. Bees are stupid and won't find the feeder and will leave, but the hummers wont miss a beat. Problem solved.

the green white was soooo fast it was difficult film him and be hidden cause hadnt got his trust......but the next day i had to take the feeder in cause the bees turned up.....its made my christmas bad......i lost my beijaflors.....cause of bees and people who live with me that didnt want me be happy watch the beijaflors.....please continue look after your beijaflors and post more vids when you can......im going to subscribe to you if you dont mind.....

i filmed them though and could stand less than 1 foot infront of the feeder and they could clearly see me but had no fear.....it was sooooooo amazing.....

such incredible animals......god bless them now they arent visiting outside my room anymore......i hope they are all safe......do i sound crazy.....hahaha.....

the ones that visited my feeders were a family i think,.....2 large black ones......3 purpleblue dark with green chests......and then the last days a green and white chest.....

i live in rio de janeiro.....and i have been here 4 years now.....until last christmas i had seen only 2 times hummingbirds......

then i got 2 feeders and some nectar mix.....in 2 weeks 5 different types of hummingbird visited outside my room.....

over 400 visits.....i watched and noted them for 2 weeks.....the best 2 weeks since i got here.......then bees turned up and i had to remove the feeders.....the hummingbirds came for 1 month more but then stopped cause no nectar....i was sad.....
