What i think is really is funny how Paul talks about how the country never had a problem with drugs until about the 1910's in some interviews. Well, during 1910's cocaine became very popular in America and led to alot of crime, so it was policed. And then in the 1920's, during the prohibiton of alcohol, marijuana became popular after the the Turks introduced it to mainstream America. Marijuana soon led to the same problems and crimes as cocaine, so it too was policed.

What i think is really is funny how Paul talks about how the country never had a problem with drugs until about the 1910's in some interviews. Well, during 1910's cocaine became very popular in America and led to alot of crime, so it was policed. And then in the 1920's, during the prohibiton of alcohol, marijuana became popular after the the Turks introduced it to mainstream America. Marijuana soon led to the same problems and crimes as cocaine, so it too was policed.

Dear funkrockit, I don't hate any plant (even maryjane). Please remember that God did not create the world as a tribute to man. The Universe is God's Divine Emanation. We are part of that Emanation and must live our lives to serve the whole. Marijuana confounds a persons intelligence and makes it more difficult to discover the Divine Love of God in our everyday lives.

Marijuana confounds intelligence? Tell that to Carl Sagan, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and all of the other geniuses who habitually used it. This isn't a religious issue, it's an issue of human arrogance causing the pointless persecution of people who smoke a plant. If anything, pot renews people's love for life and helps people deal with stressful, unnecessary situations. Why aren't you railing against alcohol and tobacco, which cause way more damage? Seriously, do some research.

There is no evidence that it damages the brain, and in fact there's evidence to the contrary. I know holding onto fairy tales might work for you, but rational people need more than that. Google "drug induced apathy" and I think you will find that a pot heads life is thoroughly defined. Would you want your kids and parents to smoke pot? Think of your poor old father with a big goofy grin holding a joint in his hand and your sainted mother with the munchies in the kitchen eating cookie dough! Or your teenage daughter trying to score pot at the 7-11.

Marijuana has been used for thousands of years as an entheogen. The possibility for some people to become more close to god or experience any sort spirituality is undoubtedly inherent in the plant.
People do smoke marijuana for other reasons other than to just "get fucked up"

If a user endangers others while on drugs including children then they should have severe punishment but they have the right to their own body. Many like me don't care to do drugs of any kind including marijuana, alcohol and cigarettes. But you look at the facts instead of propaganda, the drug war costs America more than if there were legalization.

Then there is Mexico, Afghanistan especially are essentially run by corrupt drug lords who peddle their drugs to countries like the US. If drugs were legal they are moved into the hands of white world industry, while this does not sound so great it's infinitely better than the secretive drug cartels, drug dealers and pimps who control people through drugs and violence.
