Bad wolf hunting a baby animal...try taking on a mature male with antlers you mean wolf and see how a fair fight goes. I hope the herd kills you and your family you redneck wolf. Killing babies makes you feel like a big touch wolf huh.
@HunterMeatEater Wolves eat the weak and frail animals. It balances out nature. If they eat some of the babies, it will keep the population in check. They also kill the sick and frail so that the rest of the herd will not catch the decease. It also ends it's suffering. If the wolf killed the grown wolves, it would hurt itself and possibly die. And if it succeeded to kill a healthy mother, the baby elk would die. If he killed a strong father, the herd would loose some protection. Its nature. :).
@shadyfeather1 Are you kidding me? I know nature, I have been in the woods since a child. Wolves do not just kill the weak or sick they also sport kill and in Montana they killed 155 sheep without eating one of them....they killed for sport. The Canadian wolf is not the same wolf native to the US. This is a much larger wolf. You obviously do not know anymore than the bullshit fed to you by misguided wolf romantics.
@HunterMeatEater Its a known fact that wolves do not eat for sport. I'm not trying to offend you when I say that your most likely another farmer angry that wolves have eaten your sheep. I've actually spent time at wolf research centers like the ones in Ely, MN. And all they're research; including Canadian wolves, have concluded that wolves do in fact eat the young and frail. Wolves aren't as evolved as humans; and killing for sport is only what game hunters do.
@shadyfeather1 I am not offended I just know for fact that wolves get excited and kill for sport. Dogs like pit bulls will also get excited and kill for sport or call it instinctive but it happens. I agree that they eat the weak and young cause they are opportunist hunters. Human hunters do not hunt the sick no different than you looking for meat in the store from a sick animal. We do get the lessor alert or aware so in some sense when I traditional bow hunt I do not get the strongest.
@HunterMeatEater I do agree about them becoming excited. Its natural for canids to chase something that turns there back. However, I do think if the carcass of a sheep is left there after it's killed, if a farmer doesn't move it scavengers will finish its remains. It would be right if farmers wouldn't get so angry and shoot them, but if they would contact wolf centers to help them out, I think everything would be more serene. In all, I don't think the wolves mean to hunt in sport and waste prey.
@shadyfeather1 Funny if a hunter killed 155 sheep and did not eat one of them how people would be up in arms and rioting against hunters but if wolves do it people justify it and think it is all natural lol. The wolf gets a pass on anything it does. Russian scientist warned us about the introduction of a non native wolf species of called the canadian grey wolf but it was hidden and covered over and now they are destroying much of the wildlife in the states.
@HunterMeatEater Humans are an evolved species and know from thousands of years of evolution not to waste. And although some people do, its most likely because they bought it and didn't do the work of growing/killing it. Wolves are native animals; and have been since the ice age. When the wildlife was over populated in places such as Yellowstone, herbivores were over-eating much of the plant-life. When they reintroduced wolves, the plant-eating animals's population was balanced again. More green
@shadyfeather1 that is what they tell you in the interest of the wolf. The wolf population has put so much pressure on the area that the brown bear (grizzly) has been forced to look for food in places and ways not normally done. I was just up there and talked to a land owner who first hand witnessed the wolves killing the litter of cubs of a cougar. They also witnessed the wolves take the mother cougar's kills from her.
@shadyfeather1 lol your kidding....you think that wolves dont kill cubs? you dont know predators my friend, no offense but predators kills the offspring of competing predators. Hunters like me use calls that imitate the young and predators respond to it with intent to kill.
@shadyfeather1 The moose population is experiencing a disproportion in young and middle aged moose. The adult mature moose have been able to survive but the younger juvenile moose have suffered greatly. The elk heard numbers are well under normal and what you do not know is that vast amounts of money are at stake. The state gets millions of dollars for wolf management...they almost have to make the wolf look good. I am not against the wolf all together but they need better management.
@HunterMeatEater I can't argue with you there. But everyone's either a wolfaboo or a wolf eliminator. Why can't everyone be balanced and instead of hating or obsessively protecting the wolf just work together to solve the population problem and sheep hunting.
That's not true! In Alaska caribou out number wolves immensely! Before you say stuff like that do some research! Besides if you're against a wolf killing to eat then you should stop killing animals for food also! Hypocrite!

@HunterMeatEater I can understand stealing kills from a cougar, but killing cubs isn't natural.

@HunterMeatEater I do know that they kill cubs, thank you very much. But I've only ever heard of it out of dens. Now I feel ignorant. lol.
