That pic at 7:19 is really interesting. The wood sidewalk is amazing ! I lived in Cranbrook from 1972 till 1978. I remember hearing all the emergency vehicles go by during the plane crash at the airport. Very sad day.
@sirbletchley Cranbrook actually lost many of it's historical buildings during the modernization of Canada during the 50's and 60's, and there was also quite a few taken out by fires.
It can't be because thats the clock tower unless they tor it down and put up a new one sometime between then. ad sorry about the spelling my keyboard is weird.
Rotary Club made the new one, and it's called the Rotary Clock Tower. At Rotary Square.
The Clock in the Rotary Clock Tower is actually the original Clock from the Post Office, they saved the clock from the original building when it got demolished.
This is a really cool video of my home town, born, raised and still live here. Unfortunately too young to have seen any most of these buidings. It really is true that they destroyed this town by demolishing all of these neat old buildings and slapping up modern crap. Everyone who has any history here should see this video.
Great job on the video, I lived in Cranbrook during the 1970's. I remember the Central High School building well. Cranbrook is a delightful city in a beautiful valley. I have fond memories of the place.
the place needs a motorcross track

My Dad said that Cranbrook lost a lot of its historical buildings when a land developer became mayor.
