Thank you! I'm a feminist and I love porn.. If the woman isn't being forced to do something she doesn't want then how are we too criticize her? What if she enjoys it? I mean, it takes a hell of a woman to get in front of a camera naked, never mind having sex. What's the difference between a musician making a music video and a woman, who's consenting and enjoys it, make porn?
Porn is just sex. Even the supposedly "degrading" stuff is usually consensual from both parties. There are videos where the women "degrade" men, too. Like fem-dom. It's just harmless fucking sex and many can separate bedroom fantasy from actual "disrespect". The type of guys who carry that disrespect outside of the bedroom will be assholes anyway, with or without porn. Some people are just BORED with touchy feely "lovemaking" and like hardcore trashtalking slamming FUCK every now and then.
fucking, I meant. It's the same reason some people like "easy listening" while others like heavy metal or punk music. Some people have more aggressive tastes. Others who are MUCH more pacifist (or boring/easily offended/you get the idea) equate this with "disrespect" when often times the couples who engage in this activity are VERY loving couples. I might agree with PARTS of feminism, but not when they speak of "teh porn is evilz! it must diez!111".....fuckin prudes and (probably) boring lays.
Are you getting angry you bloody c**ts, listen i hate feminist for that reason you c**ts have no life, and you have to try to tell other women and men how to live their lives listen Porn is great no matter what thats their job to get nailed on camera and they love it and trust me 98% of men love it too so please shut the fuck up and let people live please life is too fucking short for you to fight for a fucking stupid cause
BellaxStrega, How dare YOU think that you can speak for every woman on this planet. According to your LACK of logic, I, a white man, would have no right to express my feelings of hatred toward racisit white people. Men who stand up for women's rights are more for womens rights then women who knowingly and willingly degrade themselves in the film and porn industry. Can you wrap your head around that??
How dare you call yourself a feminist and think you have ANY right to tell a WOMAN what feminism should be about or how she should frame her feminism. Go fuck yourself.
this young man knows precisely what he's talking about, maam....whats so bad about this man wanting casey anthony to pee in his face? or to want mary winkler to crap on his chest? hmm? is that so bad now, bella?
I think the porn where the women have a toilet seat around their necks is the most liberating for women. It shows how strong they really can be and a testament to their equality.
However, on the point of 'choice' and 'choosing' to do porn, you have to understand that some women are in an economically vulnerable place. In American society, we care about civil and political rights, but we have no concern about social or economic rights.
I have a problem with people who say being sexual is somehow empowering. You're only empowered if you made the decision without coercion and control every aspect of how such material is represented
There is no such thing as an economic right. No one has a right to a high paying job and in turn no one has an obligation to give people jobs. The decision to do any job is financially motivated. Someone who scrubs bathrooms for a living might get paid more than someone who cleans furniture. If people are willing perform an undesirable job, that's their choice.
Choice isn't the issue here. So, in an era when many good jobs are being outsourced, women's work is not paid, or is underpaid, people are willing to employ cheap immigrant labor with no benefits, corporations like Enron can screw people out of pensions, and the corporations throw their weight around to bust unions, we should call for economic rights. The United States is one of the few indistrialized nations that hasn't signed the Covenant for Social and Economic Rights. Its not a personal issue
that cuts both ways. The real value of labored is determined by labor. When people outsource it drives down the wages of both men and women. But if feminists were to come and demand equalized salaries not by virtue of what their skills demand but for the sake of professing grievances in droves, then that would cause more harm to individuals.
your views are particular to the western capitalist individualist environment many americans and western europeans reside in. It's not universal. We don't live in an era where 'the best person gets the job'.
In Scandinavia they have both paid maternity and paternity leave. Women face particular issues, such as balancing raising children and providing for them. We don't have a reliable system to ensure women get child support payments. Women are in vulnerable economic places.
Who says we have to pay for women to have babies? Why should money be taken from people to support them to have children. Certainly the benefits of having children are reason enough to have them. If you require financial incentive to have children, you shouldn't be having them in the first place. Also, every individual has to face different challenges, I don't think it is just for the government to selectively fix people's bad luck- that's what voluntary insurance is for.
I second what professorfoxtrot says. Besides, there are perfectly good ways of earning money which a lot of hardworking women do utilize-checkout the nearest McDonald servers(assuming absolute bottom of skill level). To claim that any woman is doing this because of the money is correct, but that is definitely not the only way to earn money for women. By implying it is so, you are insulting every hardworking woman in the developed world.

hi! thanks for the video response! :) Germaine Greer makes this really awesome analogy about beauty through saying something like, if I were to tell you that a particuluar type of rose was the most beautiful flower in the world -- I wouldn't tell you to get a stick and destroy it but to appreciate it's beauty. I think there definitely needs to be more sexual discussion going on!
SOME feminists have an anti-male agenda. Not all. The core belief of Feminism to me is the belief in equal rights between the sexes. Some people definitely do get into fascist mode, but not all feminists are like that at all dude.
If that's the case why is it called feminism and not egalitarianism? Why do feminists fights for an exclusive pro-women agenda and not for rights of poor people?
Feminism is in itself dehumanizing. Though feminism claims to call for equality, what is hidden is a loaded anti-male agenda. Don't believe me? Look at NOW's website.
Feminism has many double standards. They want abortion rights for women because they believe that a woman owns her body, yet deny her the right to voluntarily show her own body.
Woman are paid more than their male counter parts in porn. Howww I.

I have irrefutable, incontrovertible proof that working in the porn industry causes some women's breasts to grow to enormous, gigantic proportions:

Catharine McKinnon and Andrea Dworkin are anti-porn feminists. Porn is prevalent in non-feminist societies such as Japan.
