Very well done. I'm going to pick up an ST-E2 tomorrow! Your video explanation was exactly what I was looking for, something clearly indicating how it works in action.
Thanks for the hard-work brother. It was very helpful. I am planning to buy one flash for my 40D, and I will use it only off-camera. After watching your video I have decided that I need not buy the 580ex, but will buy the 430ex with the ST-E2 transmitter instead. If I feel the need for more flashes, I can always buy a 580ex later, or just buy another 430ex to use as a second slave!
Please let me know if you have anymore advice for me. Cheers!!
Thanks for the comment. The 580 will do the job, but is much much more expensive. So if cost is not a problem go with the 580 as it can control 3 groups of flashes instead of just two. Let me know if that clears things up for you.
great work, Question about the st-e2. Can you adjust the power output of the flashes using the transmtter? ie maybe using exposure compensation on the camera will tell the flashes to either boost power or reduce.
one thing... what I never see on youtube is photographers using flash with a big group only a single subject. Would you like to to do a video on that.
awesome video. Thanks this was a big help

Thanks for showing me how to use the st-e2 with the canon flashes. The AB function on the st-e2 is cool.

I just thought it's worth mentioning that the infrared signal is very unreliable in direct sun light and they have limited range.
The A-B balance functions look cool on the ST-E2, I'm tempted to get one.
Thanks for the demo :)

Hey RipBlock -
I've actually not had the terrible issues that may people have with the Direct Sunlight issue.
