I saw him sing this song at The Albert Hall in London in May 1966 ... spent the next day running round trying to find the lyrics - the Blonde on Blonde LPs had yet to be released
@bladesofglory12 i was blessed when i discovered bob when i was 15! it was the start of an incredible never ending journey!! i met the love of my life shortly after and she loved bob too!! that was 1984 and we both still love bob just as much (if not more now) as ever!!! it's so cool to have somebody who loves him as much as you do!! i hope you find somebody to share bob with!!
@pet456bike I too was 13 when I discovered Dylan ...he has been in my heart for the last 48 years. He spoke to me like I was speaking to myself ....words that were hard to come by for me,seemed to flow effortlessly from this man ...he spoke to me like no other.
Ol' Bobby Zimmerman is quite likely the greatest original American troubadour. He truly came out of the Blue in the tumultuous 60's and personally defined so much for an entire generation. A poet, a creative genius and a real artist w/ an ear for the ironic, the truth, the common-man and the hurt of love- no one is more emulated by other artists- and no one is as 'real' as smart or as timeless. I raise a glass to you Bob, and shed a tear for how young, how beautiful and how timeless you are.
I've often wondered if he remembers these iconic mind blowing performances since he does appear stoned, but Dylan could take himself (and us) somewhere else with many of his songs. Even the gospel years you can see & hear the songs deliver him to a special place of his own making. A truly gifted genius! Those years & later prove he didn't have to be stoned to to make great music! But.....I am sure being stoned produced many of these performances.
@shomermamillailah86 This an other performances from this tour are on the "No Direction Home" DVD. (See "Like a Rolling Stone (Live 1966) for another.)
There are many other performance clips -- complete -- also on the DVD.
Fuck, this is gut-wrenching... "It was raining from the first and I was dying of thirst, so I came in here. And your long time curse hurts but what's worse is this pain in here--I can't stay in here. Ain't it clear that I just don't fit? Yes I believe it's time for us to quit. But when we meet again, introduced as friends, please don't let on that ya knew me when--I was hungry, and it was your world." .......Who else could write anything that tragic?
The '66 live published recording of this song is unusual in that you will never hear Dylan play guitar the same way before or since - or even on the other songs on that 2 disc set. Hearing this, which is sung exactly the same way, but in which his guitar playing is quite different, I must wonder who was playing guitar on the released recordings. I rather suspect it wasn't Dylan. Anyone have any insight? And thanks for the posting - great

If this is from the 66 world tour it was most likely filmed by Mickey Jones, the drummer on the electric set
AntoMc95 4 weeks ago
@AntoMc95 This is the 1966tour. all Mickey Jones' filming, basically home videos, were without sound. D.A. Pennebaker filmed the 1966 tour

Just Like a Woman is definitely not one of my Dylan favourites, but this version, as well as the clip, are pure gold.
So simple and beautiful, it is as if he were singing and playing alone in his room.
