  • @ 1:40 2 Liter bottles of Strongbow to the sky!!!!!!!!

  • 3:44 Régine goes crazy ^^

  • I saw them at Bonnaroo 2011, and I started crying during this song. No shame.

  • @Tyman103 I would too if I saw this live

  • The best chorus in music history doesn't need lyrics.

  • They sound soooo fucking amazing live. I think AF and Tv on the radio are the best indie bands to see live. Theyre AMAZING.

  • @argonaut121 @yesspaz they're both fantastic bands! both of their music isn't "better" or "worse" than eachother; they're just different. both are fantastic in different ways, and there's no reason why you shouldn't just listen to both!

  • Goosebumps right now

  • HAHAHA rush is nowhere no near Arcade Fire. You're silly

  • LIfe is unfair. I was 12 in 2007 :-(

  • pretty much the most beautiful song

  • I want this played at my funeral

  • that keyboard player suffers from terminal cuteness, and that's my prognosis!!!

  • The best band ever to come from Canada. The best band ever?

  • @Argonaut121 it just may be...greetings from Medicine Hat, Alberta...(Go Leafs!)

  • @Argonaut121 No on both counts. Very good band, but Rush was the best band to come from Canada.

  • @yesspaz Rush? Are you kidding me? They're great guys but musically just a notch above Nickelback.

  • @Argonaut121 Ha! I will gladly disagree with that. I love Arcade Fire and will defend them til death, but Rush is leagues beyond Nickelback. Hahahaha. I don't have faith that you've listened to them, actually. Try doing some research before you say something stupid. Rush consists of three of the best musicians rock has ever seen. Don't compare them to Arcade Fire either. Two TOTALLY different times and styles. Arcade Fire kicks ass. Rush kicks ass. Nickelback is ass.

  • @Grado2003 Please explain to me how on earth The Arcade Fire has anything to do with the special olympics.

  • I love how he says "Take care of each other" and not "Take care of yourselves"

  • I guess they just sing in any key, its like the special Olympics got a band together.

  • 8 people havent woken up yet..

  • They should play in the superbowl

  • OOOOHHHH AHHHHHH, OH AHHHH OH OH OH AHHHHHHHH OH AH OH OH OH AHHHH OH A OH A OH!!!!!!!!!!

  • EXTREME CHILLS!!!!!!!!11

  • the word epic is used far too often to describe a band or song but the word does not carry enough weight too describe this performance,

  • This isnt a song...this is a anthem!!

  • I think they need more people on stage.

  • I don't wake up often but when I do it's to Arcade Fire.

  • probably the one of best tracks of 2000s ( for me the BEST)

  • @enisancin Easily

  • 8 people don't wake up

  • I would have cried. I think I am going to when I see them in September for the first time.

  • @ck675 Oh you are going to love it! I admit, I cried a little bit during the performance of Wake Up when I saw them in April. There's A LOT of bands I want to see live, but I say shamelessly that above all, my top pick would be Arcade Fire for the second time :)

  • Not a single live performance of this song is bad! They are all PERFECT! SHIVER-FUCKING-INDUCING! One of the Best SONGS EVER!

  • @mentonerodominicano Seriously, if someone asked me to pick the single greatest song from my generation it would be this song no doubt.

  • tALK ABOUT SETTING THE BAR FOR ALL BANDS TO MATCH.... MATCH HELL!!! JUST EVEN COMING CLOSE TO !!!!

  • Bands don't follow Arcade Fire. They drown in their wake.

  • Finally, a live version where you can actually hear Régine. :)

  • this was THE festival to be at.... the very next day The Killers were on this very same stage.....

  • Comment removed

  • totaly inlove with Sarah Neufeld.

  • @cezarix same here :)

  • @cezarix me too

  • gotta love canada eh!

  • @horse69outside gotta love Montréal eh! ;)

  • lovin he bird ar 5.13

  • goddamn this is so fuckin epic, id get tears, or something if id watch em live

  • I could cry. And squeeze the girl to bits.

  • I seriously think the light engineer was drunk, the timing in the intro is just awful

  • awesome !!! this year we'll see them on spain too !!

i just can't wait for the moment of listening this song !!!

  • I like Arcade Fire, but they have many in front of them on my "favorite bands list." However, that performance was absolutely fucking epic. I have to make it to Glastonbury before I die. Every band/artist I see on youtube saves their best for that festival.

  • I hate it when people compare two bands. Just listen the music you like...

Kasabian played on an other stage.

  • wow, i bet like half of the crowd was screaming theyre lungs out!

  • Glorious

  • Absolut einzigartiger Song! Music for the Masses!!!

  • I don't know why people are going on about Kasabian when they weren't even on the same stage as Arcade Fire that year, let alone the act after Arcade Fire.

  • lol look at the guy in the bottom left corner at 1:46. what the fuck?

  • This song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

  • look how beautiful everyone are, so happily together.

    I'm fucking crying.

  • the lady on the keyboard has an infectious smile on her face - you can tell she was loving this gig! Brings back memories

  • Comment removed

  • amazing performance by an amazing band!!!!

  • Arcade Fire + Wake up + Glastonbury = Shivers down spine

  • Poor, poor Kasabian. I bet they thought - "shit, how do we follow that!"

  • They've been on my radar for a bit, finally got around to listening to them when they got their 3 Grammy nominations the other day — okay, I've been a little busy. The new material and this version of Wake Up, reminded me of why I fell in love in with rock as a teenager. Emotional release! Montreal so rocks!

  • This is the first time a song has ever made me cry

  • Speechless...

  • The first thing I do once I have my own time machine.

  • @yvranx I just noticed that I made the same promise to Sleater-Kinney. I'm such a slut.

  • Fuckin' love it :-)

  • the 5 people that disliked this are spawns of satan

  • i dont get how someone can press dislike. seriously, like is there anything wrong with this? was there really a problem you had with this where you thought it wasn't good. because i dont even like arcade fire and this made me want to cry/throw up/and smile at the same time.....sooo.....awkward...

  • Love the rain boots Regine :)

  • i love the sticky note that said "drum machine GUN"

  • I would hate to be the band following them in the line-up!!! :)

  • @D0ST03VSKY thats exactly what I was thinking. Does anyone know who had the misfortune of following them that year?

  • @rusinrockt Bjork.

  • @Dirish666 Well I suppose you could do worse.

  • Fuckin amazing O.o !!!!

  • got choked up every time I watched this video. one of the best rock live performance.

  • First time I ever heard this song was from this performace... Incredible

  • best live group on the planet! period

  • That violist looks like she's about to cry as she's singing.... amazing....

  • Never has a song sent shivers down my spine like this one....speechless

  • @3:24... FAIL!

  • @TimInman1989 I didn't see any fail

  • @theedwardcunningham

Richard Reed Parry has the drumstick fly into the air as he's trying to spin it ,and cracks up. Ironically, it happens just as Win is singing " If the children , don't grow up" !!

  • @Ninety6DBfreak ahhh that makes sense

  • PLEASE,PLEASE come and play in Australia!!!!!!!!!

  • Just watched them play this as their encore at Leeds, it left me literally speechless. I just can't explain the experience to others, you have to see it for yourself. Their other songs were perfect and this just topped it off

  • 4:45 best transition in a song... ever

  • This is one of the very few songs that can bring my eyes to water... It's so emotionally beautiful :)

  • such suspenseful beginning...waiting for the guitar

  • they better play this when i'm at lollapalooza next week. i'm gonna cry if they play this or not

  • I was just going to hear a good song of a band I like pretty well... and I've been so MOVED that I CRIED!

    What's happened?

  • seen anything better ? ..............me neither

  • Next time their there without a doubt they'll be Pyramid headliners.

  • I've heard this song well over a hundred times in the last six months and it still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

  • Just got floor tickets to them at Madison square garden in august

  • probably ranks up there with best live performances of all time

  • Amazing performance!!! Thanx juarez mexico

  • lol look at all the bottles of cider in the air at 1.42

  • so AWESOMEEE!

  • so happy to see them again in August at Rock en Seine, 3 years after their last gig at this festival

  • wow !

  • Legend

  • Easily one of the most epic youtube experiences available.

  • euphoria @ 3:49

  • Genial esta banda es muy buena...espero que algun dia vengan a Mèxico....seria un placer ir a verlos tocar

    saludos a todo el continente

  • i just cryed watching this

  • I would give an arm and a leg to be in that crowd

  • God Bless Canadian music.

  • @Eagles1978 Encore plus quand elle vient de Montréal.

  • I'd hate to be the band following that....

  • Two things I always get a kick out of. Richard Reed Parry having his drumstick fly out of his hand and then cracking up about it like a little kid at exactly the moment Win is singing " ..Children, don't grow up" at about the 3:20 mark; and secondly the absolute joy on the faces of the three women in the audience at about 5:10. It's often hard to tell who is having a better time, the band or the crowd.

  • This is just one of those songs you never want to end

  • @manisiu perfect comment.

  • Just when I'm getting sick of this song (from overplaying it), I watch this and I'm in love with it all over again.

  • If that's not the elevator music on the trip up to heaven, then push the down button, I'd rather go to hell.

  • This was the closest I've ever had to a religious experience in all my life. Utterly spine-tingling stuff

  • amazing

  • i bet Kasabian were backstage thinking to themselves "Shit, we have to follow THAT act?! Fuck..."

  • @idiotsrus92

Bleh. IMO, Arcade Fire stole the entire fuckin' show. The Who, who were headlining, were like second after these guys...

  • FUCK YEAH!!

  • 5 stars. unbelievably epic!

  • A close second, if not tied, would be The Boss performing The Rising in Barcelona Spain. But hey, I am a boss fan, and since we know the Boss likes Arcade Fire, everything works out.

  • @soonergaret

    Bruce Springsteen? Really?

  • You must be a youngster. Tell you what, watch "The Rising" performance from Barcelona Spain. You can easily catch it here, and tell me that is not an epic song. that was the first song of the set, if oyu like continue, there are many great ones. I have shown this concert to people like you, who did not understand the Boss, but after they watched this live DVD performance, they "got it" so to speak.

  • @soonergaret

Hey, I don't mind Bruce Springsteen. Hell, "Born in the USA" is a favorite song of mine. But it's still Bruce Springsteen. If you talked about him to my best friend, then you'd prolly realize that the Boss isn't exactly some sort of god.

He doesn't record his own shit in the studio, and his guitar is cut out for most of the concert except for parts where he plays a bad solo.

I, however, like the guy's singing. I think he is a superb singer.

  • @SickBritKid I don't think anyone has ever accused Bruce Springsteen of being a master musician. However, the dude writes his own lyrics, and performs EPIC 3 and a half hour concerts, and can do it back to back, and at his age that is a feat for sure.

Also, he is a great ambassador of the American culture around the world, and allows foreigners a chance to relate to Americans, instead of basing judgment on only public policy makers.

  • I might have to think about this a little more, but I am tempted to say that this song is the most "EPIC" live song I have ever seen performed. It is always epic, no matter what show I have seen it at.

  • I could not agree with you more soonergaret! Definitely of EPIC PROPORTION!

  • loved this during the super bowl. that was what football... no, what sports in general are all about.

  • wow epic live song! keep gettin the chills from this performance

  • All proceeds from the use of Arcade Fire's Wake Up on Super Bowl 44 will go directly to Partner In Health's Haiti relief efforts.

  • Just heard "Wake Up" during the Super Bowl. The NFL seems to be using it as a theme song for the NFL Network!!!! Cool , a billion people or so wondering about our boys(and girls).

  • I would cry if I saw this Live

  • owen pallet says the new arcade fire album is the best album hes ever worked on and hes worked on a shit load of albums. fingers crossed.

  • @Dirish666 ever since i heard about their new album i deleted all the songs off my mp3 player except arcade fire and been listening nonstop :] this bad is one of those rare wonders that comes around once in a while and i guess we are all just really damn lucky to have them!

  • whens it comin?

  • chills at 4:45

  • This vid featured the keyboard player a bit too much for my taste, though.....

  • i think that made the song even better

  • Blimey! I never imagined that Arcade Fire would use an Electribe!

  • @SickBritKid: Me too! All of them singing makes the performance even more powerful and amazing than it already is! Gets me every time I watch it.

  • I love how all of the band, even at parts they WEREN'T assigned to sing at, sang through the whole song.

  • Catarsis.

  • unbelievable....some are having TRANCE!!??

  • all of them displayed great feelings /emotions while singing and playing their instruments......spellbounding!!!

  • this is POWER!

  • this is so so emotional!!!

  • Guess were just to adjust

  • Halleluja!

  • "Thank you, take care of each other."

    Something we can live by.

  • I can't stop watching this magnificent video of pure awesomeness.

"Thank you, take care of each other."

  • I have officially made this my new theme song..I can hear this over and over

  • i cried when i saw them live, it was beautiful

  • If you don't find yourself profoundly moved by this song, there is something wrong with you! :)

  • wow i really wanted to see them live before but i had no idea they would sound THIS ****ING AWESOME

seeing them has now become a life goal

  • ME ENCANTA :B

  • Gets me every single time :)

  • EPIC!!! WOW!

  • just read an old July 2007 Q magazine on you guys -- nice reference of 80s influences/inspirations. I hope to approach you for the soundtrack to my first feature film about a one-man nuclear bomb and missle factory in Utah, USA. Stay tuned.

  • An hero pl0x!
