  • does the newt not eat the shrimp?

  • did you by that at a store or find it in the wild

  • i like newts

  • japanese? i think they eat shrimps.

  • lol 0:16 the shrimp is like " i will be taking this..."

  • hmm i was thinking about putting my fire belly newt with marsh shrimps, but will the fire belly newt eat them :O?

  • Yes it breathes underwater adude722 you retard, its a fucking amphibian!

  • @MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd no they dont, amphibians dont breathe like fish. have you ever seen a frog

  • @wyattthompson1 No! Whats that? Fucking dick. They breathe through their skin through cutaneous respiration when in the water. Why do you think they have to be wet all the time retard. Google it, a 5 year old would have before they looked like as much as a tool as you do right now.

  • @MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd they do not breathe underwater. they need to resurface to breathe. yes they can absorb things threw there skin but they cannot fully breathe underwater. they can absorb small amounts of air so they can stay sub surface longer, if a newt could really breath fully underwater than it would be able to live in a fish tank filled with water. but they cant.

  • @wyattthompson1 Ugh! Your stupidity digusts me! Google it fucktard, you are tooking more and more like an ignorant dick every second...

  • @MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd calm the fuck down psycho. ok they breath underwater, my life is so much different and the world is a better place now. Thank you

  • @wyattthompson1 You're welcome :D

  • They live on both land and water as that is the ecological niche they fill. Not because they havn't evolved like that over millions of years or anything

  • @MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd

    lmao idiot

  • @rawblol And you're the idiot if you think I'm wrong. See comment below wise cracker

  • i love it! check out my newt!

  • I had a Japanese shrimp from '04 to last year, I think. My latest, I bought September '09. My oldest firebelly is from Xmas 2004. She ees my law- ver.

  • What the FUCK do you feed him, dude.

  • that newt is cute!!!

  • i would not recommend these newts. I had 3 of them for breakfast one morning and didn't feel well for the rest of the day. I don't understand why people keep them if they just make you unwell. They didn't even taste nice.

  • are they easy to care for?, how big do they get?, and can u keep them on there own?

  • the shrimp took the newts food

  • are those ghost shrimp?

  • do u have fish in the same tank ?

  • does it breath under water

  • @gashbell111 no it doesn't breath under water

  • A goldfish, seriously?

  • i need to get a pet which is better

    a gecko, newt or salamander

  • you have a shit aqarium!! the clases are round-thats bad for the animals!

  • @GermanProud14 its probably better than you're aquarium, retard.

  • @GODLIKE20000

    shure...in your treams -.-

  • dothe need a filter

  • @coltron5 yes

  • oh what a cutie!!!!!!

  • the food he ate lol i thought it was a rock and i was like holy shit this dude ate a rock...!

  • haha when i bought 2 spanish from the pet store they shited like 4 stones when they came in my tank lol

  • i have 7 fish tanks and only 3 of them are running what should i put in the other ones when i set them up

  • Finaly a close up!

  • I might be getting 3 for a 10 Gallon tank.

    What do you feed them?

  • you can feed them normal fish food. but its not healthy for them. go to your local pet store and ask for bloodworms or black worms. they prefer these and its easier to feed them

  • ahahah lol at the shrimps, he like edged his way closer to the newt and piks up some food and walks away lol.. nice newt

  • it ate newt food. it never ate the shrimp. YOU CAN SEE IF YOU LOOK RREEAALL CLOSE. THE SHRIMP WAS SCARED SO IT RAN TO THE BACK YOU RETARD!!!!!!!!

  • haha youre a fucking idiot. where abouts does this mention feeding? i'm guessing the shrimps are a seperate pet, not meant for eating.. maybe to help maintain the tank by eating algae and stuff.

  • he looks sooo cute

  • u caught this one at the right time lol

  • I love your video - I'm glad somebody else keeps big shrimps with little newts. I have 4 CBFN's & just bought 3 Amano Shrimp like yours to eat algae (& newt poo). I thought the newts may try to eat them but they are scared of them as they jump so quick! The shrimps bumble about unhindered while the newts hide in the new plant I bought for the shrimps to hide in! They have taken over the newts' floaty log & steal big clumps of bloodworm at feeding time. I hope they will all get along together.

  • so cute:)

  • I wouldn't use gravel because some newts accidentely gobble them up and choke

  • wtf is up with the squares?

  • lol at 0:16 the shrimp grabs he food all scared... lol

  • @junior759

he is really fixed on him, haha^^

  • nice newt..doesn't the shrimps have problem living in same tank with the newt?

  • that reminded me of the day when i bought 3 salamanders in china town i litteraly freaked when the girl said its 2 dollars, that was like a steal

  • hey how old is your fire belly

  • Goldfish pollute water. Not a good thing to do, especially with axoplotls. i wouldnt do it with mine, anyway.

  • did it eat the stones ?

  • no those are newt pellets

  • oh i see :)

  • Are those gold fish in the bak?! Big mistake!! FBN should be kept without other fish, and their tank should be about 25% land and 75% water depending on how mature your newt is. Gold fish and FBNs have completely different water requirements. Also, avoid feeding him pellet or processed food, a better choise is frozen blod worms and the occasional pinhead cricket. Get him in his own tank! Trust me, I've been breading these little guys for over 7 yrs.

  • some FBN stay under for their whole life while others like stay on land most of the time. FBN have different personalities.

  • When firebellied newts are young juveniles, they will spend most of their time on land and not venture into deeper water. When they get older, they will usually spend most of their time in the deeper water, but some will occasionally stick to land, even as adults.

  • ive had my shrimp since march 2004 and my wee chinese fire belly xmas 04. white clouds and zebra danios go well. all east asia. how big do japanese newts grow? do they behave unaggressively?

  • They behave unaggressively to other fish so u can have Poecilia reticulata with the newt but if its hungry it will (Sometimes) bite the tail of the fish.

This newt (Cynops Orientalis) will grow 10.5-13cm.

  • That's a lovely newt, very lively. By the way, he didn't eat gravel it was a special food pellet.

  • newts only eat like once every 2 days

  • where can i BUY a newt i dont want to look for them... i live in PA so where in PA do they sell em

  • my mistake i was not a newt it was a green anole

  • my bro might be getting one so can you tell me what they eat

  • I have a newt just like that! His name is Herman

  • it ate gravel...

  • if ur newt swallowes a stone, it could get impacted (sumthing like that) and die...you need either sand or very large gravel that they cant swallow

  • my newts wont eat :(

  • can you feed them dried shrimps?

  • He is like "let the hunt...*dramatic pause*begin..."

  • so if you put the newts with small fishes.. will they definitely eat the fishes?

  • I keep C. orientalis with white clouds and nothing bad has happened for a year.

  • it definatly depends on how big the newt and the fish is. if it fits in the newts mouth itd try, but may not actually eat it. i have a goldfish that got big and now if i dont feed him enough he nibbles on the newt! he was just a feeder fish the newts never ate and now ive have him like 2 years(maybe less)

  • how did u make ur tank???? i had a couple and i put sum rocks and a little water and feed it these pellets and sadly they died they didnt eat they didnt move much i went through 4 ofem cos i thought the first 1s were sick

  • my salamanders eat stones all the time (axolotls) they don't wanna do it. sometimes they swallow them!

  • can they live with other fish

  • Of course, they won't eat them or nothing, just maby the beby fish.

  • what should i feed my baby firebelly newts?

  • isn't that a chinese fire belly newt?

  • Thats what I thought! I thougth that the japanese ones had rouph textured skin and were a bit smaller but hey. . .

  • you should use sand as your substrate..cause those gravels..they're just gonna like swallow it and could die

  • wat temp. is ur water at?

  • ok that was cool

  • feed them live food. chopped earthworms, bloodworms, and daphnia.

  • this newt makes me miss my newt he died along time ago

  • Yeah me too :( I think I'll get another one, my last one was really cool!

  • you have a chinese (cynops orientails or somthing like that) not japanese

  • i spy a goldfish is in the back :P

  • wasn't it a stone that it just ate?

  • no that is food note the color

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its so cute i feed my newt blood worms

  • Awesome video. Looks like the monster from Cloverfield.

  • my newt wont eat god dmammit basterd!

  • I cant tell if the goldfish are in with the newt, but if they are they shouldn't be the newt's toxins eventually harm the goldfish.

  • hmm i have a couple of question about nuts so if u can email me at pat_levesque23@hm cuz im interested in getting some again and i cant remember can they stay underwater there hole life or do i need to make land for them so if u can email me plzz big help thanks alot man

  • Hi!

I'm not sure if newt's toxin could harm fish living in the same tank. I've got 3 orientalis and 6 "kolibrifish" (Tanichthys albonubes) in aprox. 60 l for 4 months (I know, it's not a long time), and they do well together, fish have produced some fry, too (just 2 of them are being alive now, but because of limited food resources).

  • kool i have 2 cory catfish nd i was hoping 2 get some newts so now i kno i can put them in the same exhibit...thx! :)

  • you can't he has got it wrong i dont wanna be a boff but the toxins of the newts can kill fish but you can keep chinese fire bellies with japanese and as for the corys add a plec and a few guppies tetras and mollies etc.
