  • Do you have any pictures from when you built it?

if you have, could you make a video of how you built it and how it works?

This must be one of the coolest machines ever built, GREAT JOB !!!

  • I have always loved the older John Deere Lawn Tractors like yours!! The older model John Deere's make my 2011 John Deere D140 look like a kid's ride on pedal powered plastic toy!!! I love the track system on your tractor, did you build it or was it a kit? I will bet that monster can really plow the garden soil like crazy!! I was thinking of trying to build a complete tractor all from scratch, but things are so expensive now days, and the money is VERY hard to come by.

  • That is the nicest JD iv seen in a long time! But be careful those 17 HP kholers starve for oil on hills and throw rods. If there the first generation! I have one in the shop now with a bad rod. But so sweet. I would love to see it snowblow!

  • how did you set up the steering and did you build or buy the tracks?

  • cooles spielzeug ...

  • @JcXtreme72 Thats exactly what hes doing (^_^)

  • I could play with that all freakin day

  • its ok where is the blad

  • I probably would do foot controls for myself then have a home made snow blade for me and get ir build a tow behind mower deck. And i would put in a small diesel engine so i can go up hill with out any problems.

  • I like it! Be a great snowplow!

  • How does that push snow?

  • cuz hoverrounds are for pussies!

  • I thought the best cry ever was playing in the background

  • Please show us how this does on hills and such

  • do some good deed for your neck and add rollbars before this god damned thing finally kills you. listen to pa.

  • I want one.

  • John Deere Power Chair!

  • my name is yjohndeere!

  • latest vid is banned in my area due to copyright

  • probally fun as hell to drive but way to loud for me

  • @cubcadet1983 not to loud

  • wats the point of this????????

  • @gonzalez77lowlow to make you ask dumb assed questions

  • such a awesome machine... just one question what do you do with it? i know what i would do with it, i would do some mud boggin in the swamp behind my house!

  • smart smart guy good job awsome mod u should consider selling some copies of the blueprinds or an diy instuction manuel you would make a small fortune

  • That is awsome. One of the coolest mower mods I have ever seen. That would be the trick for pulling small garden tractor impliments. I am impressed..Kudos.

  • You've got seperate hydro's right?

  • very nice

  • He should have used a bigger model to do that to!

  • BRAVO!! SIR!!

    NICE WORK!

    if they dont make'em..

    we will!! ha ha!

  • Looks like one rough SOB to drive. Nice job though, from the video it looks factory.

  • thats no tractor. thats a ridin lawnmower.

  • 1:30 - heading out to have himself a cigar...

  • @RustyRazor2010 He sure was going to have a "cigar"

  • how do you build that?

  • NICE!

  • one question,

how the fuck do you mow the damn grass with your "lawn mower"

  • @johnb1419 you dont dumb ass

  • i doubt its as hard as you think to transform one jjust find a skidsteer that doesn't run and put the tracks on and in the front raise it till its level, the only thing would be it would be alot of work and a pain in the but to do

  • have fun tearing up your grass

  • hey how did u do that how hard was it and how mutch is it to get the parts

  • Have you used it in snow? My friend needs a tractor with a little extra traction for cleaning his driveway and hauling firewood from his woodlot.

  • what kind of transmission did you use?

  • whered you get tracks from and what kind?

  • That's so cool. Looks like you transformed a rider into a skid steer. (Y)

  • Looks like a JD 318? is that one. I used to have one and it had seperate brakes like that which would be perfect for tracks

  • coolest lawn mower ever!

  • looks like a mini bulldozer. should put a plow on the front and paint it cat yellow

  • The only useful thing i see coming from doing this is that if you plowed with it you would have a ton of traction compared to chained wheels. the only fun i would get from it is the build. I would swap the engine for something else for more speed and less noise.

  • john deere 317 t

    xD

  • This Is what old people do on there 24 hours of free time!! We need More of you old people.

  • I'd take a 4 Wheeler over that any day

  • its a john deere on crack thats bad ass

  • Holy crap that is awesome! Did you put a zero-turn transmission in it?

  • waow that thing is so slow

  • damn that would be epic for plowing snow!! why didnt i think of that

  • Is this built on a Bobcat ride behind chassis or all custom? Cool build. Congrats

  • now your free to see the world

  • the new mini-9630T hey are you selling this anytime soon?

  • thats freaking awsome.

  • бесполезная фигня

  • sounds like the trannys going to blow up.lol.great build though.

  • @MrPinhead11 i think its the hydrolics that make the sounds :P

  • for those steep lawns i guess

  • i wanna see tht get stuck

  • it will go faster if you remover the govner

  • @jacobboi96 and then you can buy i new motor because you fuck up your last one or just put in a new gear box

  • @jacobboi96 It did not work for Illinois.

  • @jacobboi96 yeah I'm sure he's not aware of the "GUVURNAR"

  • Put a blade on that bitch

  • No faster.. Thats a crawler .. sweet ass ride

  • cool now clear through the snow

  • now thats what I call a lawn tractor...

  • he should of had that on the island!!!!!

  • that has to be the coolest thing ever.

  • Amayzing what retireing will do to a man

  • Good job

  • Good work!!

  • Now if John Deere had this as a model..... oh, the yard work i could do....

  • @BrokeMoFo I hear ya i am in the buisness too. I could def get some hills with that.

  • seems like barely enough power to get out of its own way or turn.

  • it is way to slow

  • thats sick, i'll take one

  • Less compaction. It would work great with a tow behind tiller or front mount snowblower. I doubt you would lose traction pulling a boxblade.

  • im just wondering what was the point of this

  • @articat225 funny thing is that your mother wonders the same thing about you

  • You are a genius!

  • we need more of these for the war!!! and fitted with high powered wet noodles.

  • thats pretty ridiculous

  • ya my push mower can also ride on the driveway and make alot of noise but at ten times the speed why dont u actualy take it out into the woods

  • Hmm..are you sure thats custom? hahahaha

  • you should go muddin with that

    that thing is cool!!!

  • How are the differentials arranged?

  • John Locke from lost is a bad ass mower builder.

  • @Kreat0r1 I just started watching lost, and yah this guy looks like John Locke. for sure.

  • Great modification. I needed this to plow snow this past winter.

  • great job!!!

  • what about mowing the lawn

  • just get a pull behind

  • That be great for a small loader or plow. Would do work

  • is that the hydaulic pump low on oil? or just the transmission?

  • ah man now i wish I had kept the 316

  • too slow and noisey

  • Its a hydraulically driven tractor, its gonna whine some. He might be low on oil. w/e and its a tractor...not supposed to go fast...

  • Too slow.

  • its a tractor...it aint supposed to be fast...

  • high speed mower!

  • haha they make scraper blades for john deere lawn mowers....i got one

  • that thing wont get stuck while plowing snow.. haha

  • It's a Lawn Dozer

  • That is really neat. I love seeing homebuilt stuff. I do not recognize the tracks. Did you make them yourself?

  • sweet need to put a plow on it for sidewalks in the winter awsome job

  • john deer built the what you know as a lawn mower but was really called a lawn tractor that is a lawn tractor it is one of the older models of lawn mower

  • i want it!

  • but does it cut grass?

  • Are you serious ? Tracks on a lawn ? But for the record , a front mounted mower would work for hillsides as long as you didn't mind the ruts when it turned.

  • Nice modification to change to tracks! I want one.

  • thats tight. i wanna see it in snow

  • Nice job. Your work looks like a factory built option. There are some no good, do nothing idiots that post here though. Dont let them bother you.

  • Impressive. Is the person who did the mechanical alteration an engineer by trade or just naturally brainy.

  • Both! Although he does not have a degree in engineering, he worked in a machine shop for 30 years.

  • very impressive job well done wish I had your skills

  • nice man , that is some good fab work, how long did it take to do?

  • very cool!

  • pointless shit

  • u may not like cool stuff like this but another people does. you don't see alot of these! around so stfu dumb bithc!

  • @xGODLYxSKiLLeDx666x dumb bithc? go back to kindergarden.

  • what a reatrd you or! i know how to spell,! everbody makes mistakes but you didnt know that so u go back school dumb ass! bitch!

  • retard

  • its bitch dumb ass wow honestly in like 14 and i spell better than u wow

  • says the person who just made five grammatical errors in one sentence.

  • what r u my mother go be teacher somewhere else

  • @ganymedeIV4 because grammatical errors matter.

  • @evanzabarsky20 in like 14? do you mean " You" not u

  • its not pointless if you had fun making it

  • Everyone - Thank you for your comments! My dad enjoys reading them and watching the views count climb!

This tractor is used to navigate some steep hills in the Smokies. It has a chipper/shredder that can be hitched on the back (also custom built by my dad!) so he can clear out brush far below their home.

He also takes it to tractor shows around Tennessee where kids (of all ages) flock to him for rides. Let's face it, if you build something this cool, you want to show it off a little. :)

  • Spare us your lies.

  • @MiraxTHorn How far west in TN does he show?

  • wher did you buy the tracks

  • some upclose video of the tracks and how it was done would be really cool.

  • um ok nice thang,.. but what can you do with it ? its really not fast enough or powerful enough to even make it up the hill.

  • defkon - You might be surprised. The vehicle goes faster than shown here. This was just the first test run. And, as for hills, it was made exactly for that purpose. My dad (on the tractor) lives on top of a mountain in the Smokies. He goes up and down some very steep grades with it. :)

  • Ill take his word for it but lets see some more videos!! no negative response here!

  • Now THAT IS the most badass thing I have ever seen. Effin A man, Effin A

  • that would be awome around my farm

  • i did that with my old rider

  • need a blade on the front

  • ya so what do you do with it ?

  • So, what do you do with it?

  • Take backyard voyages, and if you're particularly adventurous, go on excursions into the neighboring woods.

In all seriousness though, throw in a plow and it would be one mean snow buster.

  • my dad has one

  • lol 5/5*

  • BEAUTIFUL! I love it!

  • put a dirt plow or bucket nice vid

  • Yup sounds like Deere hydros very noisy runs out nice tho A+.

  • awesome....simply awesome XD

  • Perfect for Snow and Mud!!!

  • Perfect for?

  • Goes great in snow?

  • pretty sweet.....but why

  • that thing wud be a beast in the mud

  • This would probably be a good base to build a scale tank.

  • Do you have the build plans for it??? I'd love to put 1 together!

  • lets see it in snow or climb a hill, it'll be cool!

  • Taht's... AWESOME :D

  • quiet good engeneering but for what the hell do you need this? :D

  • thats awesome! now you just gotta make it go faster!!

  • @ambushman15 yep a turbo and a little nitrous aught to do the trick.

I think I'll join the club and put tracks on my push mower -----

  • Keep on doing what your doing. You have captured my amazement and imagination.

  • I would never get stuck in my back yard with that system. Friggin awesome!

  • HOW SICK IS THAT!!! AWESOME!!

  • How did you make the undercarriage ?

  • i would love have that with a blade on it!!
