  • i love tanabe sound

  • @ fastnsexy that's what they claim... Said considering Where it's placed it's the coldest place in the engine bay. But to Bd perfectly honest with you, I lost bottom end with it... I Gained top end from 4000-7000 but I actually went back to my stock intake.

  • is the v2 a cai?

  • powdercoat them shits black, other than nice ride:)

  • hey what are the exhaust components? is it custom or bolt on? i love the sound. it is exactly what i am looking for.. please let me know.. Thanks..

  • lil help, AEM products work best with other AEM products, you should of gotten a DC sports exhaust instead of a cheaper Tanabe exhaust, DC Sports is a sister company to AEM that tunes all of their products with AEM equipment and products.....lil FYI

  • so is this a 1.7??

  • yup

  • Good God, buy a real sports car.

    Pop Quiz time. Civics either

    a. look like shit

    b. sound like shit

    c. have an absolutely abysmal interior

    d. all of the above.

  • and a real sport car to you is what?

  • first off a civic isn't a sport car, its an economically friendly grocery-getter, so your little quiz you thought you'd be so clever about is retarded. but guess what? they can be built up to sports car status, and no, ricers don't count

  • civic type r is a sports car.just coz its not a lamo or something itialian doesnt mean its not a sports carl.fuckin yank.

  • yea true that, the Integra Type-R is rated the most fun-to-drive car in the world. Hmm... Lambo? no. Mustang? no. Just a brilliantly enginnered 197-hp Honda. :-)

  • 117hp lmao

  • yep prolly close to 117hp and i adverage between 37-42mpg on trips... laugh all you like but the R32 you supposedly have wont get anywhere near that

  • i dont have an r32 thats my brothers car. I have a 2000 accord and a toyota avalon

  • no it will dubs are really good on gas

  • thats cute you think an R32 will get good gas mileage... actually your looking at between 18-23mpg with it, especially being a AWD V6 and 250hp... good try though

  • lmao.. wow.. an R32.. ill only believe it if the guy talking shit proves on a video of him in it with the R32 but either way a honda will still take it out on gas milage 32mpg vs R32 with 19/23mpg 215hp

  • ya not to flame but I think r32 run rb25dets which is an inline 6 and its turbo. I think as long as your not under boots which with that kind of car I don't know any man that would not want to be. It probly does get some what ok gas millage but still the civic will get better millage.

  • for some reason i thought it would sit lower in the engine bay.....have u had any problems with rainy days or snow?

  • nope, ive driven it thru 3or4" of water coming home from the beach at 55 with no problems... i had hydroplaned a few times but thats not an intake issue, i dont really have any issues of water getting into my engine bay at all actually...

  • thanx for the info bro....i think about gettin one for my 04...another question, did u notice a difference in power in any way?

  • honestly... im not sure i gained much of anything noticeably, you'd prolly be better off with the aem short ram, i did notice racing my friends 2001 LX on chrome 17's with the same exhaust and stock intake has more bottom end than mine with a V2 intake and 16" alloy wheels... and my setup is lighter, i would stick with a stock intake and maybe a K&N filter to be perfectly honest with you, its not worth the money, its just kinda for looks, i may convert back to see if i get better MPG than 42mpg

  • its not your intake its your exhaust...your car needs that back-pressure...(just my guess)

  • Isn't back pressure bad??

  • idk... i dont think i have as much on bottom as i used to,... i just drive it i dont care to drive fast anymore, to many tickets, now everywhere i go a cop pulls me over for exhaust, go figure

  • @sik05civic Diddo on that one

  • @sik05civic , i know how you feel i get pulled over with my 04 gto all the time for exhaust

  • @sik05civic

I have a 1993 Honda Del Sol Si 1.6 SOHC that I was running straight headers on for awhile. Loud as balls, I would make people miss shifts while racing ha don't know how but it happened. I have had my share of speeding tickets, but I haven't been pulled over for my exhaust yet. I got pulled over for a cracked windshield and the cop commented on the exhaust, but no biggie. I'm buying a full exhaust soon but I can't find a silent one, all farty sounding eww.

  • not rly, u need some back pressure

  • u do not need back pressure that is a myth

  • @lilrak72 no, no you don't at all actually

  • nice not bad i got the 02 ex with a aem v2 and the greddy evo2 exhaust sound nice yea last thing i gotta do is drop it u 2 man drop it and its good

  • drop it and itll be clean

  • D17A2 the LX motor

  • whoops, d17A1... my bad

  • is yur medallion loud when u r drivin?

  • not unless it gets up into the 5k-6800rpm range... then my intake and exhaust get pretty loud... but cruisin speeds between 2-4k it is pretty mellow

  • dude sounds awesome !

  • nice sounds ill. but this intake is not cold air right. i heard this intake is top in the market now. don't know if that's true or not. would u recommend this intake or not

  • nice. i got an 02 ex. bout to get rims and my new exhaust on. the one i got on now is jus 2.5 piping ran from the cat with a stock looking tip. its loud but not as loud as i want it. i heard the greddy and hks sound preety good aswell

  • That sounds good... I too have an 05 Civic LX (Rallye Red, although I really like the blue you have), everything is stock though, the windows are not even tinted... yet. I got a couple questions for you if you can take time to answer:

    How much is that setup?

Does your MPG suffer or gets better? lol

Everytime at the onramp of a interstate, my car just doesn't have power once it gets to 60 mph... *sigh*

  • depends... do you still have the stock wheels and tires? i went from a 32mpg trip with my 225/50/16's u see here to almost 40-42 mpg trip with my stock 195/60/15's...weight and rolling resistance plays a big role in mpg it bottom line it might have suffered a little bit, but i blame my tire's for the biggest mpg drop.

  • LOL

  • intake is dope but the exhaust is gay.

  • intake sounds good man an exhaust

  • i dont like the grille.. looks cleaner with the stock in.. drop that thing next

  • hey your check engine turns on with the intake???

  • nice sound. would be nice to see it in a drive by.
