@2011CJM - Yeah just imagine it, over 7psi the head gasket would blow. The gearbox would certainly explode, the clutch wouldn't last very long, yeah. Plus you couldn't fit twin chargers (screw or root) in there, no room for intercoolers.

@NYCaznboiandrew In real world it's a other way around. Check out the test top gear between McLaren F1 and Bugatti. Without electronic setup and programs launch control the Bugatti is a closer 3.0s. Every fool makes Nissan GTR 3.5s to sixty. It's not skill driver it's just simple pushing the acceleration pedal to the floor. Not everyone takes McLaren F1 to 3.1 / 3,2s to 0-60mph. You have to be good driver to drove this car, that's why not everyone one likes F1. Especially Jeremy Clarkson.

McLaren sold around 100 McLaren F1's. Around 30 of them were raced and did really well in major endurance races. Including a win in the 1995 24 hours LeMans race, first time trying no less.

@NYCaznboiandrew In real world it's a other way around. Check out the test top gear between McLaren F1 and Bugatti. Without electronic setup and programs launch control the Bugatti is a closer 3.0s. Every fool makes Nissan GTR 3.5s to sixty. It's not skill driver it's just simple pushing the acceleration pedal to the floor. Not everyone takes McLaren F1 to 3.1 / 3,2s to 0-60mph. You have to be good driver to drove this car, that's why not everyone one likes F1. Especially Jeremy Clarkson.

@Mercedes600SEL hey i was born in 1995 and absolutely love the f1, to me it's the greatest car ever made. If i had a choice between the McLaren F1 and the Bugatti Veyron (or any other car) I would choose the McLaren F1.

@TheAmazingJG Bugatti Veyron SS 0-60: 2.5sec; 0-100: 5.5sec; 0-150: 11.3sec; 0-200: 22.2sec....Mclaren F1 0-60: 3.2sec; 0-100: 6.3sec; 0-150: 12.8sec; 0-200: 28sec....So when the Mclaren gets to 100mph it will take it 21.7 seconds to reach 200....So that means the Bugatti will ALMOST beat the Mclaren to 200mph with the Mclaren starting at 100mph

@TheTornado4000 Yes I did see the Top Gear video, but basic math shows that if the Mclaren F1 starts at 100mph it will reach 200mph in 21.7 seconds and the Bugatti starting at 0mph will reach 200mph in 22.2 seconds. That means the Mclaren F1 would reach the 200mph mark .5 seconds quicker than the Veyron.

This is NO WHERE near as fast as a Veyron SuperSport, not even a Base Veyron, Not in ANY terms of acceleration times, where are you getting these False accusations? the F1 has never gotten to 400kmh, its only gotten 388kmh. and you talk about power. you dont know how hard it is for a car to get to 241mph, let alone 269mph, Veyrons got power, but F1 has a Big advantage in Aerodynamics, again, where?..

@Mercedes600SEL Agreed to the billionth power. I wouldn't change anything on an F1 unless I change a part for a new one from McLaren. If somebody shot out one of the tail lights for example, I'd stop at absolutely nothing to find a real replacement. I'd want it to be all genuine and for the DUBS, they aren't going near that beauty. As ugly as the stock rims are, I wouldn't replace those either. Any compromise to the original condition of a car that precious would make it's value drop

I want to see it on the top gear track too, but could you imagine if the stig crashed it by accident? There goes your investment man, even if you repair it, it wont be worth a 1/4 of what it was worth.

@sexyitalian891 when they had a Veyron vs. standard F1 (not a LM,GT or GTR) dragrace in Abu Dhabi Hammond said that the Veyron was worth 1 mill (brittish pounds.I THINK that aprox. 2 mill. U.S dollars) and the F1 was worth 2......When doing the bit on the Ferrari 599 GTO they had a original 250 GTO there.Clarkson wasn`t allowed 2 drive it an inch.....No starting it. I don`t even think he was allowed inside.

@FUCK202 Exactly.And,at least when the F1 was new,almost all mid engined cars had a weird drivingposition,with the pedals abit of to the right.In the F1 the driver position is perfect.AND u can hit the apex perfect every time,right or left turn.There r no drawbacks.Well,maybe bypassing,but in a F1 u spend MAYBE 3 seconds in the oncoming lane ONCE and then u have overtaken 15 cars:P Yupp,the F1 is the king!

@foxdemon226 after looking on this internet, the f2 got its name because it is a 'sequel' to the f1, meaning the next car after the f1, and i'm fairly sure that because all of these posts about the f2 are from 2007-2008 the f2 turned into the mp4-12c. i cant find anything after 2008 talking about the f2

Sledgehammer is 400,000dollars and you can STILL order one it's faster more drivable on the street quiet air conditioned best surround sound no different than driving a base vet but it has 1000Hp.but it is far from base twin turbo 254.7MPH in a car you could let grandma take to church

McLaren sold around 100 McLaren F1's. Around 30 of them were raced and did really well in major endurance races. Including a win in the 1995 24 hours LeMans race, first time trying no less.
