I love this song it was the first new song I heard after I thought I had heard everything I felt exactly the same way you are feeling right now, I felt like crying the first time I heard this it affected me that much there's no feeling on earth like hearing Elliott sing straight to you. @StelliosHolmes I remember reading something about when Elliott released Roman Candle his girlfriend at the time was plugging the album to all of her friends who said it was awful boring repetitive and then she gave it to them again after they had broken up with someone and they were saying how he was the next dylan and how poetic it was and they'd never heard anything like it people are a funny breed they don't know what's good for them until they need it......

@beetol86 I'm not saying he is universlly better than The Beatles it's all subjective I'm just saying to me he is better than the beatles but then again there would be no Smith without the beatles in the same way there would be no pixies without the velvet underground so it's all kind of swings and roundabouts but my main arguement was as a musician and a songwriter Elliott should be regarded as highly as Lennon and McCartney

@StelliosHolmes he is regarded as highly as lennon, just less well known. i think it makes him more special because if you find someone who likes elliot, it is a LOT more special than finding someone who knows who the beatles are.

@Malocclusiontenfour I love that too that awkward thanks, I love his little "Thanks I love you too" when someone would shout out from the crowd :) I remember at the 1999 Yo-Yo a Go-Go when he was leaving the stage he did this awkward half wave thing as he left and the crowd was going crazy that just summed up Elliott fo rme in one half lift of the hand
