The Panamera when properly outfitted (wheels, color, calipers) is ok looking. The Rapide is without question the better looking car. No argument there. For me comfort is more important than beauty. Rapide performance should be close to the Panamera Turbo. So I would choose the Panamera Turbo.

Even though I think this truly proves how money-hungry these car companies are, first it was Porsche, now even Aston Martin and Lamborghini are coming out with sedans, beautiful but where is the pride of maintaining that exotic race car coupe status like what Ferrari has. Ferrari is the best in the world in my heart, would rather give up sales in one market than follow the rest.
Overall, I prefer an old skool 1993 sporty car, simple, inexpensive, light, quite powerful, nice engine noise, standard transmission witn no gay buttons and paddle shift, and a car that I can modify even for the track, with technology that makes the car go faster depending on the pilot, not the electronics.
I drove this car just to park it. When you sit in there, it's so small inside you feel that you are entering a jet fighter cockpit. It's really not like sitting in a ordinary road car. I would love a standard transmission and I found that the Park and Reverse are simply buttons on the dashboard. Everything feels like a DB9 inside. I didn't sat in the backseat but knowing how small it was in the front, imagine the back. The music that the V12 makes, wow.

If i see an aston martin rapide, a porsche panamera, a Mercedes S65 amg and a Bentley flying spur speed all on one block i'd only keep my eyes on the Rapide aston martine because it's more rare than the others, it's more beautiful designed inside and out. the exterior design and a 4 door aston martin is what kills the competition.
i guess so. i mean it's really a matter of your personal taste. cus i mean the S-class AMG, the flying spur, and this Rapide are almost in the same class as far as prices are concered at least. if you're a typical executive you might choose the S-class AMG because that seems more like the norm, but yeah I have to give you this baby is far better styled than the Flying Spur. Panamera is not even in this league.
Very few people will drive these type of cars. At most around 250 will be sold of the Rapide if not less. The only time i'll ever see this car is through Youtube or if someone drives by. I'm currently in Pre-Med because i want to one day be a plastic surgeon. I won't be able to afford these type of cars. I'll probably stick to the Honda accords like an everyday guy.

yeah my dad just got this car, and we raced our db9 and its basically the same speed, but the db9 could just pull through just a tad better. fantastic car though....easy to drive, and is great to race those crappy asian honda suped up cars that are just really loud!
The panamera is not a disgrace to porsche, it's a normal evolution for a sports car company to create a car similar to the maserati quattroporte, which is the same reason aston martin created the rapide. The real disgrace is porsche's Cayenne, which now comes with a diesel engine believe it or not... And aston martin lost it completely by modifying and rebadging a toyota aygo, and calling it an aston martin cygnet...

Beautiful car. I think this is a step into the right direction in sporty cars that have four door but handle like a sports car. Even though its out of the price range for many people, other companies can make affordable ones that are similar to the Rapide. 5/5.
The first thing that impressed me was that Panamera is more spacious, especially for the rear passengers ... Rapide has more exciting design, but Panamera is the leader in the performance and it's not a disgrace to Porsche.

looks better than the panamera with the single halo headlights, the v12 vantage clear taillights and rear end however I'm not too fond of the rear doors of the wheels. I think they should have gone with a 5 spoke wheel design with some nice brushed aluminum and a deep lip. I think a Panamera S or Panamera Turbo would scorch this thing around the track plus the PDK gearbox in the Panamera is better than the one in this.

The gaps are huge... but this is a pre-production model, this is sort of test and fitment is something that is normal on pre-models.. Wait until the production model is seen up close, im sure it will be different.

I hate to say it but you're right. Current Astons are usually beautifully built but those gaps are not something you would want for that much money. My Grandad's V8 Vantage has never given him a moments grief regarding quality or reliability (apart from when he flooded the engine with oil) so it surprises me how something like that could slip past their quality control.

This Car is much Better than the porsche panamera ( although being more expensive). Porsche tried hard with the panamera but i love the aston. All aston's are great and this 4-door keeps up aston's image in Modern Britain
At around 3:11 the seams between the doors and body panels really ruin the overall look. I like the car a lot its just a little detail that doesn't help anything
Yes the cars that you see being tested prior to model release are always pre production development cars. I work in the industry and have watched these cars being crushed after testing has finished, it's painful to watch.
They should stick to their 2 doors please. very soon we just might hear that VW is making a 4door beetle and the Mini is going to make an SUV, they should stop while it's early.

sound equipment has a habit of exaggerating road noise. usually other programs run it through a canceling software. sounds like they didnt.

that's like the Bentley flying spur speed and the Mercedes S65 amg. The Flying spur is not rare neither is the S class. If i see an aston martin rapide, a porsche panamera, a Mercedes S65 amg and a Bentley flying spur speed all on one block i'd only keep my eyes on the Rapide aston martine because it's more rare than the others, it's more beautiful designed inside and out. the exterior design and a 4 door aston martin is what kills the competition.

i guess so. i mean it's really a matter of your personal taste. cus i mean the S-class AMG, the flying spur, and this Rapide are almost in the same class as far as prices are concered at least. if you're a typical executive you might choose the S-class AMG because that seems more like the norm, but yeah I have to give you this baby is far better styled than the Flying Spur. Panamera is not even in this league.

Very few people will drive these type of cars. At most around 250 will be sold of the Rapide if not less. The only time i'll ever see this car is through Youtube or if someone drives by. I'm currently in Pre-Med because i want to one day be a plastic surgeon. I won't be able to afford these type of cars. I'll probably stick to the Honda accords like an everyday guy.

haha..i was gonna say...if ur gonna want to be a plastic surgeon just so u can afford expensive cars u mite wanna reconsider your career path loll..with that said i do agree id rather be happy with a efficient yet pretty luxurious high end honda/acura or like a mid-level lexus than want these $190+ cars and regret it later because being in the US where there's snow/ice i would never risk driving this in such weather.

99% of people that say they want to be a doctor for the money are going to fail miserably in medical school. It's all about heart, not about money. There are other ways of getting that bentley besides being a doctor. Besides with obama's health care plan the doctors that rely on their salary from medicare are going to realize that their salary is cut by 40%. So That guy with the bentley dream will need to keep dreaming.

yeah my dad just got this car, and we raced our db9 and its basically the same speed, but the db9 could just pull through just a tad better. fantastic car though....easy to drive, and is great to race those crappy asian honda suped up cars that are just really loud!

The panamera is not a disgrace to porsche, it's a normal evolution for a sports car company to create a car similar to the maserati quattroporte, which is the same reason aston martin created the rapide. The real disgrace is porsche's Cayenne, which now comes with a diesel engine believe it or not... And aston martin lost it completely by modifying and rebadging a toyota aygo, and calling it an aston martin cygnet...

Beautiful car. I think this is a step into the right direction in sporty cars that have four door but handle like a sports car. Even though its out of the price range for many people, other companies can make affordable ones that are similar to the Rapide. 5/5.

The first thing that impressed me was that Panamera is more spacious, especially for the rear passengers ... Rapide has more exciting design, but Panamera is the leader in the performance and it's not a disgrace to Porsche.

I think this car is too balanced! It has no itching point, which could make it a bit more tempting, a bit more interesting!
I rather like the Panamera more, as it is not as much a crowd pleaser - it will definitely keep longer unique and interesting...
And the Aston is much smaller in the back as well!

Aston Martin cars doesn't need to be the fastest or the absolute kings in performance. Porsche engineers are truly masters of his office, but are always struggling to overcome Lambos, Ferraris. A Aston Martin owner knowns that there are faster cars around, but He doesn't care about.

looks better than the panamera with the single halo headlights, the v12 vantage clear taillights and rear end however I'm not too fond of the rear doors of the wheels. I think they should have gone with a 5 spoke wheel design with some nice brushed aluminum and a deep lip. I think a Panamera S or Panamera Turbo would scorch this thing around the track plus the PDK gearbox in the Panamera is better than the one in this.

The Aston's sports car design favors more a four-door variant than Porsche's.
I don't think both cars can't compete on design, the Rapide is hands down more attractive than the Panamera.

The gaps are huge... but this is a pre-production model, this is sort of test and fitment is something that is normal on pre-models.. Wait until the production model is seen up close, im sure it will be different.

I hate to say it but you're right. Current Astons are usually beautifully built but those gaps are not something you would want for that much money. My Grandad's V8 Vantage has never given him a moments grief regarding quality or reliability (apart from when he flooded the engine with oil) so it surprises me how something like that could slip past their quality control.

This Car is much Better than the porsche panamera ( although being more expensive). Porsche tried hard with the panamera but i love the aston. All aston's are great and this 4-door keeps up aston's image in Modern Britain

The reason for that is this will be a pre production model built for testing, the final version will be the normal Aston Martin quality, i.e Perfect.

Yes the cars that you see being tested prior to model release are always pre production development cars. I work in the industry and have watched these cars being crushed after testing has finished, it's painful to watch.
