Too bad the new world record for a blue was caught last week in Kerr Lake. My neck of the woods. 143 pounder caught on 30 pound test line.

@rocky3330 And I wasn't TOO far away on the same night (off Nut Bush Farm Rd.), with about 40 hooks in the water (jugging, trotline, rod &reel) and caught only 6 with the biggest weighing 4 lbs. Using the wrong bait I reckon! ;)

Back in the 20s my grandpa lived on the banks of the mississippi river he said the ones he has seen people catch could eat this one but it is a hell of a fish if you think about the catfish of today and how there managed congratulations on the catch.

@OsceolaLongBeard you cant mount catfish. the oils in their skin keep the paint from sticking you have to get replicas and all you need for a replica is the length weight and girth and species. so you'd still get the meat no matter what :)

@MegaHUNTER15 no no no, you don't need a big fillet knife to cut up big fish, you just have to know how to use it. you wouldn't want to eat a fish that size anyway, old, tough, full of parasites. you could soak it real good in salt water, but it won't be as good as a 10 pounder.

...Still not as big as Radish's fish! But I knew it would come from the Big Muddy. After the floods reclaiming some of the river's original channel, and the ban on commercial catfishing, and reduced creel...it was only a matter of time before records start to fall. ...So long as the flying carp don't totally take over. I bet a fish like this can eat a pretty big carp...and many of them.
