@rocky3330 And I wasn't TOO far away on the same night (off Nut Bush Farm Rd.), with about 40 hooks in the water (jugging, trotline, rod &reel) and caught only 6 with the biggest weighing 4 lbs. Using the wrong bait I reckon! ;)
Back in the 20s my grandpa lived on the banks of the mississippi river he said the ones he has seen people catch could eat this one but it is a hell of a fish if you think about the catfish of today and how there managed congratulations on the catch.
@MegaHUNTER15 if they are smart. they will get it mounted and shit can the meat....too much mercury in large cats to eat them...unless you want your pecker to fall off.... (up to you)
@OsceolaLongBeard you cant mount catfish. the oils in their skin keep the paint from sticking you have to get replicas and all you need for a replica is the length weight and girth and species. so you'd still get the meat no matter what :)
@MegaHUNTER15 no no no, you don't need a big fillet knife to cut up big fish, you just have to know how to use it. you wouldn't want to eat a fish that size anyway, old, tough, full of parasites. you could soak it real good in salt water, but it won't be as good as a 10 pounder.
I see nothing wrong with advertising a site dedicated to the sport of catfishing. If more people become aware of catfish management, then that's just a plus for the future of catfishing. He's not stealing money like the crooks who run the big companies, just inviting people to sign up for a chat forum for crying out loud.
...Still not as big as Radish's fish! But I knew it would come from the Big Muddy. After the floods reclaiming some of the river's original channel, and the ban on commercial catfishing, and reduced creel...it was only a matter of time before records start to fall. ...So long as the flying carp don't totally take over. I bet a fish like this can eat a pretty big carp...and many of them.
i beleive i would of stayed up all night, missed a couple days work or whatever to keep that fish alive

I can't believe you would take a guy's good luck and skill, and exploit it like this for your business Paul. Sure puts a bad taste in my mouth.
