im such a meen person ;] but no joke this is a practicaly a set and stone deal they have confirmed to be making a light cycle ride and have been debating on wether or not to use the rocket rod (peoplemover) track or make a new track. thats all that i know and im a super disney freak!
Why does my old comment have four thumbs down? I thought that people still hated the Observatron. I think that it was nothing but a waste of time and money. It would of been better to keep the Rocket Jets there than to create the bottleneck known as the Astro Orbitor.
Hopefully, their next revision is much better than the 1998 revision.
@OmegaBlueWind74 actualy the rocket jets had been there for a very long time and they moved them to them near the tomarroland entrance because of saftey laws, the observatron was placed there because they did not whant to remove the higher platform, and the rocket rods arenot coming back, but being replaced by a new upcoming tron lightcycle themed ride.
I heard that the Orbiter itself is actually too heavy for the platform in general. Also, where did you hear that they are putting in a new tron ride? Please give me a reliable source.
@OmegaBlueWind74 well honestly i am a disney freak and refuse to give that information out but it "should be in the making by the imagineers in late 2011 hope you enjoy this even faster paced ride"... hint hint... (amusment expo 10)
To be honest, that thing was nothing more than a waste. It was a whole lot better when it was a ride. That is what that skeleton structure was designed as a ride. I just hope the Rocket Rods returns on that platform. Rumor has it that the Observatron will be removed for a redesigned Astro Orbiter.
I kinda want the Rods back, but, remember all the lines and breakdowns? I'd like to see somethink like it with better mechanical systems. The Observatron is kinda fun to watch, but there is an opportunity for something up there.
I personally think that the Observatron should stay in tomorrowland forever. I think it very well represents Tomorrowland and the Future, besides we already have the Astro Orbitor, what's the point of 2 rocket jet rides? Also, The observatron would look awesome in action atop the Peoplemover Station.
My God, I HATE THE OBSERVATRON!! Once the Rocket Jets closed for the 1998 revonation, the rocket-style spinner was moved into the old Clock of the World place. This eliminated the need for the Rocket Jets. Originally, it was planned the Astro Orbitor was to be put on the old RJ skeleton, but was too heavy for the building and the PeopleMover station. This was Disney's quick fix.

They should bring the Rods back as long as they don't cut the budget and build it to its actual design.

1998 it was a waste of $. Go back to the board about the structures and systems, and it'll be a success.

Waste of money due to that cheapass Paul Pressler. Slashing the budget. $100million isn't enought for a revamping of Tomorrowland.
