@egees96 it works for any version the softmod wont. but this is a hardmod and it works on any wii but get the drivekey v2.0 NSMB nsmb is new super mario bros. beacuse nintendo is marking their games with chips inside the discs and the mario bros was the first game with it.

@videsindian remove all things not made by Nintendo Wads HBC and all the remove the mod-chip update and it should be fine tell me what firmware u have after it has updated and i will give u a vid on how to hack ur wii

I went to the configuration menu and

DriveKey is ON, Region Override is On, Update Blocker is Import, Wii Disc Autoboot is OFF, and Full GC Region Free is ON

But when i put in a sony dvd-r backup that i burned using imgburn, it says "An error has occurred. Press the Eject button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting.".The iso i burned was in compressed rar file from wiiiso.com.

Please tell me what to do.

I recommend you people to soft mod the Wii. Safer, free and you make/brainwash the Wii your friend....not try to send in a friend (the chip) and try to convince the Wii to be friends with you... You like my analogy?hehe

Start play your games from USB drives and forget the DVDs!!

@TheAmefist Yes you can. Nintendo cannot or will not check this. As far as they see it, you are using a normal Wii. I have played Mario Kart and other games online without any issues. Don't do it, but with this softmod, you can apply cheats too..... :P

Hi there. Some (if not all) Drivekeys are sold with 2 ribbons (a wide one and a narrow one), but here I see that only the wide one was used. What is the narrow one for, anyway? Thanks.

and play roms games, that

you've downloaded off the internet.

and playing burned games,

because not all Wii's will play burned games,

depending on the model.
