And besides, 4/4 time is more "flowy" if u get what i mean. 3/4 time sounds really nice, but is a bit choppy at parts when you need to fill in space.
nothing disgusts me more than when the meter is changed form 3/4 to 4/4 it completely kills the flow of the song. As much as i love Groban's voice i feel even he should've done it in 3/4

And (this is just my personal opinion now) I like the traditional way of singing it better. Too many people try to make it their own instead of just singing it the way it was meant to be.
This is by far the best rendition of our anthem that I have ever heard - and it just so happened at the best stadium (The Cell) for the best team (White Sox) in the best city (Chicago) on Earth!
Josh is great, I can forgive Christina for making a mistake in the SB but I was shocked at how the quality of her voice has gone downhill. By the end she was yelling more than anything and threw in wayyy too many random notes. Josh is pure talent!
People are not looking for a concert in the music of our National Anthem. It should be sung with a sense of pride and respect to the country. However, when it looses those two key elements then the anthem turns people off from the purpose and meaning it holds. It's ok to add a little something to it, like Josh did here. You can hear the feeling in the words through the music and his voice. Josh should be at Superbowl 2012! Wonderful job!

Josh may sing it simply, not adding a lot of additional notes, but his take, while simple, is so much more powerful to me.
That's because Josh is a TRUE student of music. His amazing voice along with his dedication to detail of sound, notes, and words make virtually everything that he sings like this version of the Star Spangled Banner worthy to listen to, imho.
