Of course, no one person "invented the Internet".

But Vint Cerf - one of the main people who invented the underlying TCP / IP protocols that all of the Internet sits on and is, thus, one of the people who comes closest to being "the father of the Internet" on the technical side - regularly gives lectures on the Internet's development and he always fully defends Al Gore's role as significant and invaluable.

Al Gore, of course, never actually ever claimed to have invented the whole of the Internet. The media exaggerated what he did say and credited him with words he never actually spoke.

And, according to Vint Cerf, he's absolutely telling the truth.

It's quite a long video (well, Google own YouTube, of course, so the ten minute limits do not apply to them) at around 1 hour 20 minutes.

And he fully defends Al Gore.

But facts is facts. Fox News wanted Bush to win, so they exaggerated and invented lies about Gore to discredit him.

Bush has go on to produce hundreds upon hundreds of the stupidest and most idiotic things any man has ever said.

While Al Gore has gone on to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
