True story- I remember one of my friends scammed a guy who was apparently a big guns hacker- you know the type with like 5 mule accounts full of HR's and nothing to do. Anyways, the next day my buddy got hacked and everything from his account got stolen and all his characters got deleted. He then made a few lvl 1 characters that wrote out a nasty phrase.

Scamming people in d2 was fun and exhilarating at times, but some people took the item losses very personally.

A reallly good one is where you have NOT the bridge map and have the people go to the corner IN the town of Act 1 and go outside and drop your gear and grab it and RUN back in with charge or something while your merc is still out there and then have your friend do the same and then have the other person your scamming go out there and then you host him at the same time and then you kill him when he's naked and go get his gear. My first and last "screw-up" that I had in D2 was the trade hack -- y'know, the one where the person shows you the item, cancels the trade, trades again, and the item reappears?
