Actually, a lot of what they show here is Sark and Herm, the two nice islands off Guernsey. Guernsey itself is over rated, over priced and overcrowded. Perhaps nice for a (far too expensive) holiday, but you wouldn't want to live there. What they don't show in this video is the locals, who are either yuppie throwbacks or tattooed chavs, equally as chain smoking and foul-mouthed as each other. Take a walk down St. Peter Port high street and you'll see what I mean. Sort of Essex-on-sea.

They are both very idyllic islands people ! stop arguing! the only thing bad is that there is nothing to do on either island. I used to go to jersey many times during the 1980's but now, its a different place they have virtually wiped out tourism. Guernsey was always the quiter island and never really boasted a tourist industry, trouble is jersey did and still does but it has little to offer the visitor now i feel.

I live in Guernsey, It's great for holidays but It's definately nice to get out sometimes! Our beaches are great, so is our icecream and some of our kooky little shops. The houses that are here are sometimes lovely too and this is coming from someone who wants to live in the city when she leaves school! I've always loved living here and I would come back again and again.

after you have seen some place on photos, once you arrive, it may be too often deceiving.

With Guernsey, it's opposite, it's like in a "real" dream. I personally know no other place similar.

i live in Guernsey, i LOVE it here, its awsome, we have great shops, beautiful country side, and golden beaches, and yh, its awsome, and its a great holiday destination, but dont over croud, lolz, Gurernsey IS AMAZING in my point of view, so yh, great weather in the summer, I live in St Peters/St pierre du bois, (( not town, but yh. i love Guernsey. =]

i live in Guernsey too, its great isn't it?.. a place where you get fined more for parking tickets than for beating up your wife!... its full of horse fucking, kiddie touching, inbred wankers. its a currupt corporate paradise where the rich get richer, and the poor shit out!....it probably has one of the biggest alcohol problems in great brittain (because there is fuck all else to do!) Everthing is overpriced and you could get to barcelona from gatwick for the same price as a ticket to guernsey

okay there have been issues but seriously, nothings perfect. Guernsey is just a smaller chunk so it seems like a lot more but I can assure you that we are pretty damn lucky to live here.

yeah good point, maybe my comment was a bit harsh. It's actually a really nice place to be in the summer, other than the raw sewage being pumped into the sea making the beaches stink..... but most visitors i've spoken to seem to love it

I've been there many times, and I think it's an absolute paradise. The locals I met were a grand and seemed to be happy and proud of their beautiful Island. How dare you compare it to a dump like blackpool!

I've heard folk say that theres not much to do, but that's true of any small town. In any of the large towns in Britain, theres more to do but you can only enjoy it if you're loaded. You'd be just as bored but also have a fairly dismal quality of life.
