  • The Korean is going to widen a martial art called kumdo in the world recently.

However, kumdo is a copy of KENdo of the origin in Japan.

The Korean tells a lie. "these martial arts is the origin in Korea".

Please be careful about these Korean lies.

If there is a Korean flag in the dojo studio, there is kumdo dojo studio.

  • To all of you of the whole world.

Kumdo is stupid sports in imitation of Japanese old KENdo of Korea.

Please stop it immediately if you learn Kumdo now.

And I suggest to learn KENdo.

KEN of "KENdo" is a meaning called the swords, and "the DO" is a meaning called the ways.

kum of Kumdo does not have a meaning at all.

Japanese Bushido and keen mind is included in "KENdo".

There is mind to respect the enemy even if it is an enemy.

Please learn "KENdo" if you want to train true Bushido mind.

  • 居合切りの達人の方だね。この人動体視力もハンパねぇんだよな。

  • I can cut a candle wick without disturbing the air enough to extinguish the flame...

Aaaah, i'm not that guy. Excellent video, thank you for posting

  • Japanese swords are elegant & dangerous, i think a person who know use a Japanese sword, he is more dangerous than a person with a gun.

  • Amazing.

To cut a quail egg so perfectly...

    Wow.

  • Samurai Omelette. Nice

  • A sword is simply a weapon, just like a gun is a weapon.

It is an object.. You can't be disrespectful to it.

It does -not- have a soul or feelings.

It does not care how it's used.

How you use it, only effects YOU... if YOU are without respect, and handle your weapon carelessly, then YOU are disrespecting YOURSELF.

Treat your sword the same way as you treat your firearm.

    As simple as that.

Don't show respect for the object, but for yourself and the people around you.

  • The Japanese sword is not mere arms.

    Do not misunderstand it.

The Japanese sword is samurai's soul.

There is little history for which the Japanese sword is used as arms.

Do the in existence of the Japanese sword of the number that exceeds six million.

  • @syuushinryuu Explain that to samurai in the Heian jidai.

  • @syuushinryuu well i think both you and SILENTHILL are right..yes the sword is a mere object, but your soul is shown by the use of it...the same respect and soul you show with a sword you can use with anything, and in my opinion that's one the main point of the bushido...samurai's sword is the samurai's soul doesn't mean there is a sort of "ghost" in an object

  • @syuushinryuu It's a piece of high carbon steel and low carbon steel folded together a bunch of times and then sharpened.

    Yep it's a mere object.

  • @syuushinryuu you respect an object by respecting its maker and user everyone who cares about it huh

  • @syuushinryuu you two are talking different sides of the same coin, both are great comments, thank you.

  • @SlLENTHlLL

While that maybe your belief, it was not the belief of Shinto Japan. The Japanese believed in Animism. They believed that their swords had some sort of entity residing inside it.

  • @rpascuttini

Shinto Smiths would recite prayers and mantras while they worked their steel, so it's likely that they still do. I've seen Bokken come to life in skilled hands.. As well as swords. For a sword to have a spirit is heresay. For a sword to BE a spirit.. is truth.

  • @SlLENTHlLL

On the subject of weapons, during an important shoot that was to determine my pay packet at the end of the month, I was given a weapon that I could have done better without.

I sincerely believe I could have done better throwing the rounds at the target with my fingers than shooting with it.

  • The revolver was so bad I had to aim OUTSIDE of the target for the shot to land inside of it. And you know what happens when you aim outside of the target. It's anybody's guess where it'd land inside the target-- and you're anybody, aiming first at the paper, the sand pit, the (range) walls; or even another shooter's target so that your shots land inside of yours.

It was the worst firearm I ever used in my entire life. How do you respect a weapon like that?

  • But I did not throw it on the ground after the shoot.

  • @gnoynix1 you cannot respect a firearm. maybe you should learn how to use a sword.

  • @KihonNitenIchiRyu

I know how to use a sword, but maybe I should learn how to use it the way martial arts exponents like kendo/ kenjutsu practitioners use one.

Successful fighters like battle survivors will tell you there is only so much you can learn from a swordfighting school, and I'll take a hint from them.

In a battle, even the best practitioners of the sword have perished, while, I suspect, some very bad practitioners of it have walked away without sustaining any real injury.

  • I will go so far to say that a man who has never held a sword his entire life must have killed a man in a battlefield who has trained with the sword his entire life.

Just take the sword and cut. Parry, cut, parry, cut. Parry best, cut best... you walk away.

  • @gnoynix1 whereas traditionalists with a starched asshole will tell you that true to life combat tactics do not work in a dojo setting, are stupid and weak minded. of course youre not going to be able to keep a weapon through a fight with 75 men. you'll stick your weapon and take your opponents to keep moving. people will laugh in the face of a detailed explaination on large scale combat, and they have because they will never experience it.

  • @KihonNitenIchiRyu

Whereas traditionalists with a starched a***hole will tell you that true-to-life combat tactics do not work in a 'dojo' setting, are stupid and weak-minded.

I disagree, though, that you might not be able to keep a weapon in a fight with several men. What you may need to do, however, is to tie some rope around the scabbard of the sword and the wrist. You may even go down with sword in hand...

  • Unfortunately, 'sticking' your weapon is not the only way to use a sword. If you're interested in sticking only, perhaps you should use a spear instead.

Imagine running through a crowd of men armed with swords with a katana pointing fore. You're likely to have your arms slashed, perhaps even cut off, even before you reach the end of the crowd.

Have you watched the 'Zatoichi' scene where the ronin takes on a whole clan of samurai? The helicopter shot's the coolest...

  • @gnoynix1

    Hoped I've explaned myself...

  • @gnoynix1 factor in the teardrop bevel of the katana and you'll notice that the katas are built around sticking the blade, and removing it. it would be easier to take your fallen opponent's sword and keep moving. after all, the idea of combat is to kill your enemy, not go down still holding a sword.

  • @KihonNitenIchiRyu

    Triumphant...

  • But I'd like to see you do the same to an egg. Quail's.

  • wow

  • Although some people say this is disrespectful to the sword cutting through fruit, etc it seems to me that in a modern world it's better to have positive promotion of the samurai arts through amazing practitioners like Isao Machii San than the bad publicity that is unfortunately coming from newspapers about crazy psycho people that go around attacking people with cheap replica swords! You have amazing ablity Isao San, keep up the good work... I enjoy your videos, please keep them coming :)

  • Awesome! You extinguished fire with a sword!

  • actually, he cut the wick of the candle!!!

    awesome! : D

  • Although I am impressed by your techniques and precision, I think it is disrespectful to the sword by the cutting of fruits and stuff like that... However its just me

  • dammm u can see he didnt even flinch

    not even a blink

  • It is a little egg, cut by "katana"-Japanese sword. What is amazing is that it really "cuts" the shell of an egg and yellow part of an egg is still left inside the shell un broken. It is a performance by some professional sword-master.

  • Thank you

  • what was that???

  • Quail's egg was cut.

    Only the candlewick was cut.
