  • @AaronsFF14 Yes

  • do you think you could list the parts you need for the conversion pleaseee :)

  • how long did it take?

  • @0123212345 The full conversion should take no more then 2 hrs. That includes chain and sprockets.

  • Did u use the stock rims? & how many teeth are on the front & rear?

  • @HOOLIGAN218 No the rims are not stock. They were built Supermoto 17in rims with Excel hubs. I am running a 15F and 43R sprocket set.

  • What do you spray on the swing arm at the start?

  • @m0tyrider I used a simple degreaser. I think it is called "Super Purple" or something like that. You can pick it up at the auto parts stores. Just don't spray it on anodized parts as it will ruin the shine. I learned my lesson the hard way when I sprayed it on some gold Talon hubs and black anodized Excel wheels.

  • okey:D ist that easy to change wheels?:D

  • @morominaolenmina, Yes, it is easy. But before you make the swap you should do your research. You will probably need to run with a larger supermoto brake setup because the speeds will be higher and and stock brakes will not be enough for sport riding. Then you will also need to upgrade your master cylinder and also brake lines...etc. Then you will need to change the gearing. Enduro gears are not sufficient for the street.

Its not just swapping wheels when you convert to SM.

  • @calspeed1 "nduro gears are not sufficient for the street." What do you mean what can happen ?

  • @GodfatherMaxi You can use the stock WR enduro gears but you will not like it. First of all, you will notice that you cant use first gear. You will also find that the engine will be revving to high and working too hard. I don't know the top speed for stock gearing but I am guessing it is 70mph. Gear it properly and you can cruise at 70 without over revving the motor. My top speed is over 100 when setup Supermoto. Okay for the track but the street? Scary!

  • @calspeed1 Thanks for the response

  • @GodfatherMaxi Your welcome.

  • how many hours that change take?:D

  • @morominaolenmina , it took me two days! But without my boy playing around and needing to be fed and then naptime etc... maybe about 2 hours.

  • Why would somone dislike this? people are ridiculous!

anyway good job, im thinking of doing the same but to a crf :D

  • @05560421, true but for the most part I don't give a @hit what others think if they havn't a point.

  • GOOD JOB!!!

  • @Andreas69K Thanks!

  • what tyres did you put on?! getting a 2005 wr450f and i would like to turn it into a supermotard! looking for nice sticky road tyres and rims..

  • @markk00 I ran Maxxis Supermoto tires. I thought they were great all around tires for both wet and dry conditions. They warm up quickly and start sticking faster then standard sportbike tires. Consult a tire tech for more info.

  • Hmm do you think I can get my yz426f street legal in NV? =D I hope

  • @Eveench27 Yes, I think that there is a possibility to get it plated in NV.

  • looks like all you did is change tires is that all you have to do to change it to a super moto ?

  • @paulin8er Changing the wheels and tires are some of the steps towards converting a dirt bike to a supermoto bike. Along with the wheel change you would also change your gearing and chain.

Since the speeds are going to be greater plan on installing a larger rotor, caliper, SS lines and master cylinder. The original caliper can be reused by employing a caliper relocating bracket.

I use the bike for both offroad and street I don't always change out my entire brake setup and sprocket setup.

  • fucking hate this song...fucking like that bike

  • @dumfart21 Yeah... I know.

  • is it street legal and registered

  • @twilliamsusmc , Yes it is registered. An excellent bike for The City!

  • @calspeed1 do you know if you can register a yz400 the same as you would that bike? Or would the title of it being under off road instead of enduro make a difference?

  • @FillTheTape, If you had a 1999 WR you might be able to register it but a YZ is a little different. I know someone who did have a 99 YZ400 with a plate but it was originally from out of state, not California.

  • Nice vid :)

  • @lawmand , Thanks! I had a good time making it and I hope to do a few more of the bike on the road.

  • nice pipe

  • @codmodwod Yeah...its a great exhaust. Needs to be repacked after 6 years.

  • Firey huh? Nice work. Might have to do a t-shirt swap with you hahah. Good to see the kid getting involved too.

Thanks for the inspiration, think I'm going to get a WR450F and convert it to SM now...

  • @squoisty Yes, SFFD. The shirt I am wearing is from a motorcycle internet club in UK.

  • nice work, but why the sad song? :P

  • @samwisegeneral66 Good one! I didnt have any MP3 available at the time of upload so I used a "boxed" track from the Flip software. Yes, it does sound a little to mellow for an SM clip.

  • @samwisegeneral66 Thats a great song.who plays that???

  • @MOUSEBOWEN The song is called Delilah performed by the Plain White T-Shirts.

  • @calspeed1 cool Thanks good luck with you bike
