Can someone please help me? I have a 3gs old bootrom and when i put in dfu mode with ireg and then try and restore to ios 5 beta 6 itunes returns with "iphone 'iphone' could not be restored. An unknown error occured(10)." My itunes is up to date. Also the redirect from apple to cydia to get signatures is off. I dont know what else it could be. I am upgrading from 4.3.5

hey, used iREB-r4.exe, got into PWNED DFU mode, went to iTunes 10.5.0.90 and selected iPhone2,1_5.0_9A5302b_Custom_R­estore.ipsw for restore. getting error: "The iPhone 'iPhone" could not be retored because the firware file is not compatible." Any idea whats going on? thanks!

@TriedandTrueArmory If you have an iPhone 4: If you are on AT&T, then download the GSM version. If you are on VeriZon, download the CDMA version.

The iphone firmware that YOU have is the 3gs version, AND its an AT&T version anyway. Because it says: iPhone2,1_5.0_9A5302b_Custom_R­­­­­estore.ipsw. It should have a 3 instead of 2 for iPhone 4.

It should look like this:

iPhone 4 (GSM) iPhone3,1_5.0_9A5302b_Restore.­­­ipsw

iPhone 4 (CDMA): iPhone3,3_5.0_9A5302b_Restore.­­ipsw

How do you go about rebooting a ipod touch 3G? Do you put it in DFU and us iBooty? It doesn't have the option to boot just tethered like redsn0w.

@OCReefer No dude you're lucky. You can download the old bootrom folder in the torrent, and you just need to restore to the firmware, you don't need to do the redsn0w section.

@djgrand2 Yes, my UDID is registered, as hacktivation isn't supported inside the actual firmware. And yes I was on 4.3.3 at the start, I should've probably shown you that but I totally forgot XD

Finally after a few hours, I have no idea how I did it cause I tried so many different things, I have it back at 4.3.3 Im running custom IPSW'S cause of the fact that I have 6.15 BB for unlocking. If that may be the cause of it... xD

did everything as per the video instruction. getting stuck on booting tethered. it hangs forever and when it does boot cydia will not open neither will safari. have tried multiple times. any help would be good

@RamDaRealist After you connect your device (on Windows) uninstall your Apple Mobile Device Drivers from Device manager, and make sure you're running redsn0w in compatibility mode. Unless you're on a mac in which case you just have to keep trying. If you still can't get it to work I have an alternative that I can send you.
