nice video...quick question...can you cut holes directly into the kerfed MDF board to place speakers in without splitting or breaking the wood!? or is there an easier way to do that!? thanks ^_^
We do this all the time but our CNC panel saw does it automatically. Generally assembled to a curved frame with glue & staples. If HPL is the finish and there are top & bottom moldings to cover the staples we apply the laminate before kerfing. Panels that will show both sides are made of two sheets glued together in a vacuum press over a form. Very strong!
@zakkwilder7789 yeah on this one right at 1/2 inch. The main key is to how thin you can cut too. If it breaks when you roll it its probably not cut thin enuff. practice on scraps first. quality mdf makes difference too.
Hey man, Your really awesome. I went to the RF Forum and seen this, than came to youtube and Whalol, There this was. Thank you soo much man. Know I can really get to work on this build. ")
@zakkwilder7789 Their is some really good information to be found on the Rockford Fosgate forum. Glad I could be of help. I have some other cool videos I'm working on mostly car audio stuff. I do alot of speaker rings which I sell, But I'm about to do some videos on custom door panels.
@TylerTron21 no problem! Yeah this is a pretty cool thing to be able to build stuff with curves. Really makes your projects stand apart from the rest. Thanks

very good clip just a question can I put some glue to make it hard!!!

@iLuZionxPurple Absolutely! most of the time you get the shape you need and use fiberglass resin and fiberglass mat to stabilize and strengthen it.

@iLuZionxPurple
you could also use 2 parts of theese and glue them together, having the grooves inside. so it will stay in form and you only need to fill the edges.
