i dont believe this is right. I was taught from a retired professional to come behind the bag and react to where the ball is thrown. Also by doing this your left foot would touch the base first and from then u slide both feet to the outside part, using your momentum to get extra zip on the ball. U can teach how u want but thats how i was taught and that how i see majority of the big leaguers doing it.
@rrsuperstar44 If you put your left foot to the bag first it enables a swift clean lower body movement to your target which effects your accuracy, strength, timing, and mobility as a whole. But obviously who am I to tell you what is better, if you like turning double plays that way and if you can get the guy out at 2nd and 1st than do what you want, just as long as you can get the two outs.
