Orianna got a buff in the last patch, they upped her range on Q a little bit to 825 and fixed her mana problems early game with a higher base mana regen and a higher mana regen per level ratio.
Doesnt mean she'll become the harassing queen like before but its easier to hit people and get out quickly. There will still be quite some champs like Vayne that can easily counter her.
Ye they nerfed her a little too much but she isn't worthless at all. I still have my most succesfull games with orianna because of her awesome utility i think no other champion can live up to. She is still a pretty good mage.
Is she worth buying? She looks cool. The concept of using the ball for the abilities is super cool, TBH. But not sure if she's a viable champion to play. Since she costs quite a bit - 4300 IP.

@Uristdorf Gragas is a beast... he still wins nearly ANYONE in lane with his harrass and his ultimate is such a good initiation. Also he has amazing burst with his R-E-Q-E-Q-E-Q etc combo.

@specialops1223 I completely agree. They released a decent support AP who could carry her own in a lane. Sure, she was hard to handle at first when people weren't used to her, but they responded by making her fucking worthless. And I mean worthless. There is literally no point in choosing her, in fact it hurts your team. She's terrible against everybody but the most clueless players. I feel cheated out of the IP I spent on her. Unbelievable.

@BlazedHearts I keep regretting her :') I think it's the fact she's better sorta mid/late game or atleast she is for me! I was up against ryze yesterday and managed to take him out cleanly by using my ultimate right at the end and getting in an auto attack or two but that was probably the most clean kill I've ever had. Normally I'm running around getting my ass handed to me! Good luck though x

@BlazedHearts Mejai's is pretty situational. If you get little to no kills or assists. It's worthless, even if it is cheap. I like to rush Catalyst, then either build into more AP/boots, or rush my ROA and get boots.

Neither like nor dislike. Orianna is probably one of the more balanced champions in the game. She has sustained damage AND burst Colby and if you doubt that, well, you are obviously not utilizing her to her maximum potential. Malady is a core item for her, due to her passive being insanely high damaging with any reasonable amount of AP, and the MR Reduc. and bonus AS from malady makes it even more deadly, allowing you to burst down almost all squishies in the game and chase down ev
personally i like to go after rod of ages a rylais for the hp. ori is just so squishy even with a rod and with rylais, your opponents will never catch up to you if they manage to hit you in the first place. and the slow of using your skills is annoying as well.
Colby, just a few hinters from a fellow Orianna player. Make sure you have your ball on , or nearby you always. I see that you sometimes forget about the ball location and the harass/support/ult--can be delayed depending on the position.

Meh i tend to lvl everything to lvl 3 first and then max out my w. You need some extra levels in your q and e as these are the skills you need to be able move that ball around and the cooldowns are pretty annoying if you leave those at lvl 1.
is cooldown reductions boots viable. cuz atm in not using cdr blues(i got them) i use mana regen blues instead to be able to kill them with the help of jungle ganker early on(pre-made)
@FELIX0123 every ap caster is op with that build. and every ap carry is also squishie as hell with that build. pretty easy to counter. whenever i see a fed ap carry go full glass canon, i see a free win
@lolandelo It still doesn't explain why he considers this footage "high level play", he's also been playing Orianna after he knew a soft reset was happening, so "trolling" isn't exactly a good example of Orianna play.
I don't understand why you consider this high level play, when you're mid-elo and you have less than a 50% win rate with Orianna, do you believe that you have the credibility to be telling others how to play her?

@lolandelo I think flames based on ELO are stupid. That being said, almost every clip is mechanically average. He misses a lot of CS which he shouldn't, he doesn't utilitize his passive much, in general his cursor seems to be moving quite slowly which carries over to his ability use.
hey colby if your winning you lane by a lot what about going for deathcap? like you are so far a head from your other lane that you dont need catalyst right away? or should you always go for rod of ages?
Why do u pick Sorcerer Boots? I always take the ones with CDR, cause its just awesome to spam your q even more. Furthermore u get Void Staff later, so I think thats enough MPen, including ur runes.

I got Orianna when she just released and I gotta say, she is one of my favorite champs. She's just a great champ for nuking down and I just think it's funny how people automatically assumed she was a support because of her slow/speed up and shield. It's the same as assuming Morgana is a support because she has her Dark Binding and spell shield. Anyway, you covered everything that needs coverage on Orianna Colby. Great guide.
I see that u build Sorc Boots + Voidstaff sometimes. With your masteries you have about 30 MPen + about 50%. Do you think this is effective since Flat MPen is counted before % MPen? I have been wondering about that for quite some time and I figured that it depends on who you hit. Since I try to always go for the squishys first I usually go Sorcs + Masteries and instead of Voidstaff I usually go Zhonyas, but it would be nice to know your opinion.
I can understand why many people get RoA, but I just can't stand at buying hp when I play my mages, we're supposed to stay at the back of the fight throwing everything we've got. Maybe I'm too used on the oldschool "Glass Cannon" mages, but I've got quite the impressive results doing this too.
@colbycheeze Oiranna, is simply broken. I play her alot, and my goodness, no caster is at her level. Possibly annie is near but nothing can compare to her amazing range damage and utility
Good guide, Colby, though in all honesty I've gotta say theres at least two things I'd do different. Instead of RoA, I go for Tear into Archangels, mainly because I find that I just don't have that mana early game, especially since you've gotta REALLY be good at predicting your enemy if you're wanting to get a q+w hit on them.
I'd also suggest building a Crystal Scepter, since that stacks with her W's slow and can make it REALLY irritating for your enemies when you just toss the ball at them.
Colbycheeze, would starting Regrowth Pendent on Orianna be an alright idea if you're likely to lane against a ranged AD like Caitlyn who can harass to no end? I often start with a Regrowth Pendent and one mana pot, then rush Philo Stone for the gold, hp, and mana per 5 second bonuses.
You should have at least mentioned the passive.

1: boots
2: earily deathcap
3: Void Staff
4: stack archangel.
Gives you around 900 ap.
and get sum magic pen runes and you'll be wreaking them.

I still play at lvl 28 but it works for me no more mana problems and heavy harashment

I don't understand why you consider this high level play, when you're mid-elo and you have less than a 50% win rate with Orianna, do you believe that you have the credibility to be telling others how to play her?

@Linkz2468 Because he discusses it with players that play in tournaments and stuff, also if you watch his recent videos youll hear him talk about how he has been playing with his friends and trolling around til his ELO dropped because he didnt think it would only be a soft elo reset

@lolandelo I think flames based on ELO are stupid. That being said, almost every clip is mechanically average. He misses a lot of CS which he shouldn't, he doesn't utilitize his passive much, in general his cursor seems to be moving quite slowly which carries over to his ability use.
Also I strongly disagree about leveling w first.

hey colby if your winning you lane by a lot what about going for deathcap? like you are so far a head from your other lane that you dont need catalyst right away? or should you always go for rod of ages?

Why do u pick Sorcerer Boots? I always take the ones with CDR, cause its just awesome to spam your q even more. Furthermore u get Void Staff later, so I think thats enough MPen, including ur runes.

I always underestimated her. Better not do that anymore lol. Btw cant wait to see what you think of skarner. My first impression of him is that hes fun to play despite relatively low damage but spammable q and e. His ulty is also fun to screw with people:)

dont know why you make a orianna build^^ its nearly allways banned in ranked ( atleast on eu ) and if you get her you get fed anyway because she is easy to play ( my thoughts )

I got Orianna when she just released and I gotta say, she is one of my favorite champs. She's just a great champ for nuking down and I just think it's funny how people automatically assumed she was a support because of her slow/speed up and shield. It's the same as assuming Morgana is a support because she has her Dark Binding and spell shield. Anyway, you covered everything that needs coverage on Orianna Colby. Great guide.

I would max Q first :> 60 mana instead of 160 mana for 1 harass, yeah its slower, but for me its more effective

I see that u build Sorc Boots + Voidstaff sometimes. With your masteries you have about 30 MPen + about 50%. Do you think this is effective since Flat MPen is counted before % MPen? I have been wondering about that for quite some time and I figured that it depends on who you hit. Since I try to always go for the squishys first I usually go Sorcs + Masteries and instead of Voidstaff I usually go Zhonyas, but it would be nice to know your opinion.

I can understand why many people get RoA, but I just can't stand at buying hp when I play my mages, we're supposed to stay at the back of the fight throwing everything we've got. Maybe I'm too used on the oldschool "Glass Cannon" mages, but I've got quite the impressive results doing this too.

@Wasjaber So do my Dorans > Deathcap build. It works also, just less mana and sustain in the lane. I get RoA so I can stay in lane forever farming.

@colbycheeze Oiranna, is simply broken. I play her alot, and my goodness, no caster is at her level. Possibly annie is near but nothing can compare to her amazing range damage and utility

Good guide, Colby, though in all honesty I've gotta say theres at least two things I'd do different. Instead of RoA, I go for Tear into Archangels, mainly because I find that I just don't have that mana early game, especially since you've gotta REALLY be good at predicting your enemy if you're wanting to get a q+w hit on them.
I'd also suggest building a Crystal Scepter, since that stacks with her W's slow and can make it REALLY irritating for your enemies when you just toss the ball at them.

Colbycheeze, would starting Regrowth Pendent on Orianna be an alright idea if you're likely to lane against a ranged AD like Caitlyn who can harass to no end? I often start with a Regrowth Pendent and one mana pot, then rush Philo Stone for the gold, hp, and mana per 5 second bonuses.

Maxing W is really bad imo, Worse zoning, worst sustain damage, a bit better burst maybe but not worth it at all.
