  • its just 1-2-3-4

  • once you learn the chromatic scale you can unlock the fret board and riff all you want

  • sounds really great, you can tell how much feeling went into it... im being sarcastic by the way.

  • @TheSchoolsux345 o_O Dude it's an exercice, it's not a ballad...

  • @TheSchoolsux345 you're a faggot... how can chromatics have a feeling u dumb fuck "pfft, you're not like penta bending with emotion... wha im an emo an take it in the pooper"

  • are there tabs for this excersice ????

  • @metallicatriviumPwN You don't need any tabs for this. It's a chromatic scale...

  • @SergeyMelnik yeah but you moving your hand around in different positions

  • It's a chromatic scale

  • i dont want to sound like a douche but theres no way youve been playing for two months this has to be sped up

  • I said that I use to play THAT exercise for 2 monts. It's not that I played the guitar for 2 monts...

  • dude that was crazier that tits lol rock on

  • Fuck me that is crazy fast. How long you been playing?

  • 2 monts - every day :)

  • me 2 years every day :)

  • @SergeyMelnik ass, u mean uve been practicing that scale for two months...

  • You can learn the scale within 10 sec. Speading it up took me 2 monts. And it was just an exercise for warming up and coordination between the two hands. Of course I wasn't playing only that for 60 days!!! lol

  • you are good :)

  • Good it takes a lot of patience and practice to get it right and fast and clearly getting the notes. I've tried it I'm getting there but when I try to play fast I can't even hear the notes being clearly when playing fast it's maybe because that's the way the volume is on my guitars I don't know. I always wanted to play that sort of django reinhardt scales that he did it's good crack.

  • "I always wanted to play that sort of django reinhardt scales that he did it's good crack. " - That "he" is actually me :)

  • Yeah so do I. His use of chromatic scales are brilliant.

  • hey? r u doing it starting with an upstroke or with a downstroke.. cuz i find it a lot easier to toggle between strings when u start with an upwards picking...

  • I start it with a downstroak! But if it's easier for you with an upstroak... well... Rock on !..! :D

  • hey, is it possible to use this in soloing? Like if someone says "solo in G", is it possible to solo usin chromatic?

  • YES! :)

  • That looked something like petrucci's chromatic excercise in his rock discipline video, which ive been doing for nearly 10 months now... the problem is, whenever i do the "reverse" version of the scale and get to those higher strings, i seem to have a problem not getting the 2nd note(ring finger) to sound clear. I wonder if this has something to do with the thumb's position behind the neck. I sort of keep my thumb over the fretboard most of the time as opposed to having it behind the neck. HELP!

  • Hello, I think that Your thumb should be in the middle of the fretboard or little higher but not over it; It's just uncomfortable. About the 2nd note: try to play 4 notes on every string(12,13,14,15-th fret and than down (15,14,13,12) in every tempo with a metronome and try to accent the first of every 4 notes. At this point I can't tell You exactly what is the problem. It's better if You upload a video how You play it and than I'll try to help You. Tnx :)

  • Hi there. I've been practicing fingering for long time including pentatonic scales. How did you practice your chromatic scales and get to like light speed movement? :).

  • Well, I always play chromatic scales with a metronome to ceep my both hands synchronized. In the beggining of the exercise I usually start in slow tempo. As the tempo increases You have to make sure that everything is clean and accured. Sometimes I even play the exercise with every hand individually just to find out if my left or right hand is slowing the other. Because it's all ultimate picking You really have to practise the right hand in skipping between strings. Good luck! :)

  • thanks mate

  • lol that reminds me of this one song I played when I was in orchestra.. I think it was called "Bumblebee" or something. Anyway, good job. :)

  • wow, really great.

    how fast is it?

  • Tnx for the comment! I don't know exactly how fast it is but it's almost the Petrucci's speed on that kind of exercise :)

  • that's sweet
